Hey Clay, finished installing the front rear brackets, driver and passenger. They went in just as described, perfectly in about 2 hours each side. I had never welded before. I bought a 110v mig welder from harbor freight, bought an "open box" for $119. Payment was by Paypal and easy. Shipping was super fast. The instructions and videos are important to view, excellent kit. Would do it again.
I just finished installing the front rear controller arm bracket. Pretty straight forward job even for me, a not too skilled welder. The bracket feels so solid when I drive. My daughter recently purchased the car and we didn't realize the frame was bad and the controlling arm bracket detached in the front within weeks of getting the car. I felt terrible as I recommended the car. I did the fix and the car is back on the road -- I'm so relieved.
Cay, I would like to thank you very, very much for your product. I was skeptical like you said. People are but it went on easy. And I have all 3 brackets put on and my car is running and I greatly appreciate it. It was the easiest way to fix this on my 2012 Equinox. Thank you ever so much again, Robert.I'm very satisfied customer
Just got done installing these. Once you get all the old parts out of the way these slide in and fit perfectly. Saved my wife’s car from the junk yard. 100% recommend buying these from Clay if you have this problem, he is super easy to deal with and very helpful. Thanks again Clay!!
I put finished installing the front single bolt brackets in a 12 terrien. They work awesome and isn't super complicated with the instruction video. Once you cut the old out, you see exactly where the brackets need to go, and can't mess it up if you can follow instructions. This was a customer of mine that just paid $6,000 for the vehicle 4 months ago, and it was basically junk without these. I tell customers bring a vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection and they could avoid this stuff. I Definitely would recommend these to anyone
So last week I started hearing the 'clunk' from my back passenger wheel, and assumed it was just a worn bushing or maybe the bump stop for the shock gave up. Looked underneath today and the trailing arm front bolt was just floating where the mount point on the frame used to be. Clay, you would have ABSOLUTELY saved my 2007 Equinox LT from the junkyard if a rotten trailing arm mount was the only problem. Sadly, there's a bit more to it... -back passenger shock gave up long ago -front shocks are also well past their service life -AT LEAST TWO wheel bearings have been howling for months, if the other two are starting to go there's no way I'd hear it -Trailing arm rust is just the first of five rust spots I had expected to give out by July (one being on the fuel line) -Upgraded motor mounts with bluetooth rubber bushings -Under my ownership, the motor has only received plugs and wires once, an alternator rebuild, two serpentine belts, an idler pully, an EGR valve, and oil changes at intervals.. sometimes 3-5k, sometimes 15k. No clue when the timing was done last or IF it was ever done -1/3 of the driver seat cushion has worn away, and half of my butt is just sitting on the wire springs of the seat Bought her summer 2020 at 144k miles for $400. Sounds cheap, but the heater core was bad (DDx was head blown head gasket, which I could have done myself instead of paying the Chevy stealership wizards to professionally rip out and reinstall the dash). Was a wonderful car after that, kinda fun for being essentially a glorified minivan and damn near bulletproof - the metal body of the ECU shorted out against the battery terminals one time, huge spark but the ECU was unbothered. Just a little over 237,1XX on the clock today. A sad end to an era, but this bookmark will come in handy if I ever come across a Theta that's actually worth saving. I could do this kind of repair in my sleep Keep up the good work :)
Just got done replacing the driver side front bracket for the rear trailing arm using Clay's bracket on my wife's 2012 Equinox. I've never welded before, but I am a very good learner and do have some soldering, woodwork and general repair and maintenance type stuff around the house and car. Basically I'm always looking to learn new skills that will help me out in life. I would not have thought I could have done this one myself though. The repair shop told me it was unfixable. If they can't fix it then how can I? However, the parts from The Clay Way are built to make this super easy, there are a number of videos that run you through the process and the ability to text, share pictures, ask questions, etc. made things pretty easy. I did the job with in my driveway with the front of the car on ramps and just some wheel chocks in the back and a jack on the center rear with just enough support to not lift the back but keep it steady. For sure it was a lot of work, but it saved us from having to figure out to do with a car we owe money on that the shops were saying was pretty much scrap even though everything else on it is super nice and reliable. Thanks so much. I can't express how appreciative we are of the work you do and the help you provide.
Hi Clay! I did the bracket install this weekend. Everything went exactly as you said it would. Funny enough that body clunk I had in my rear passenger side was 100% that rusted out box! While we had it on the lift, we did suspension and hubs on all 4 corners. So hopefully your fix will get me a few more years on the car, would have sucked to scrap it with only 143k miles. If the other side fails I'll definitely be back for another bracket!
Oh, it will probably outlast the vehicle 😂😂😂😂 I’ve had several other people tell me that that ordered them and paid someone else to do it so the people who installed them at shops and stuff generally say that…. I appreciate the kind words and I’m sure it will be helpful for people making decisions in the future so that is extremely awesome. If you ever need anything, let me know. I’ll be happy to make them for you.
I replaced both brackets on one side of my 2012 Equinox trailing arm using Clay's modified brackets. It is some work. For me probably took 6 hours in all not really knowing what I was doing, but Clay was very helpful with texts, pictures, and phone calls back and forth. The new brackets will probably last longer than the car!
Thank you very very much. It’s very pleasing when also humans can help one another. God bless you and your family. If you ever need anything feel free to reach out to me advice is always free.
Ok so how does one prevent rust out in the first place. What do you recommend for preventive maintenance on this trailing arm area? I used a paint brush with bar oil mine had a coating of rust still solid though. maybe oil it couple times a year stick a hose n sprinkler under the rear end lol
Undercoating doing some simple maintenance every couple of years maybe put oil underneath there. There’s a lot of things you can do and it sounds like you already did a couple of them so that’s good. Just keep it up. There’s lots of things that will actually work to prevent it. Anything That makes sense will probably work.
Not that I’m aware of. I don’t personally make anything for that because they discontinued the platform in 2009 it takes a considerable amount of time to create something for a platform like that . The only reason I created these brackets for these vehicles is because they had these vehicles from 2002 to 2018 But because the Uplander platform stopped in 2009 There’s no value in spending the six months it takes to create something that’s going to work for everyone sorry

Do you have to message me on Facebook under clays Ac and Auto Repair by sending me a DM Or you have to email me at Thenewclayway@gmail.Com Sorry, just like I said in the video I don’t give out prices over public forums. Because prices change in their dependent on Vin numbers.
No I would be more concerned with the rear end shifting, then I would be about that arm, dragging on the ground. I would do some research on what Trailing Arm does it holds the rear end from moving I mean there’s other bolts that hold it but everything that’s in your rear end has bushings on it and all of it together to keep the rear end square Without it, it’s kind of like having rear wheel steering . So you can only imagine what will happen if you’re going down the highway.
@sharpcarco I'm broke think I'm gonna have to figure it out the hard way. I won't drive on snowy roads with it being like that. Not ideal but it's somethig
@ryanvtec3885 yeah just be careful if only one of them is broke it’ll be a little bit before the other one breaks talking about one on one side there’s two on each side
I do ship to Canada frequently First off I’ll bet you do think you need that many …. But I’d be really surprised if you actually do. I doubt you would be willing to pay what they cost . So we’ll make sure you don’t need all of them. Watch the video and then message me . Like I say at the end, no offense, but if you haven’t watched the video you wouldn’t have messaged me here so I would be surprised if you need all of them. It’s extremely extremely rare and I’ve been doing this for a couple of years . I’ve only had four vehicles that needed all four brackets.
I have a 2002 and a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7 automatic I want to put the 2004 into the 2002 I'm a girl doing this by myself will they swap fine the engine

Well, that’s why I invented brackets to fix them…. Not everybody knows the third repairs out there or why they work.
Anyways, you can reach out to me on clays, a/c and Auto Repair over Facebook. Send me a DM.
Or you can email me at
Thenewclayway@gmail.Com
Did u repair it?
Any advice would be very helpful I know you know what you are talking about I will be waiting for you to answer Cheryl
I have to know what advice you’re talking about

Sorry, just like I said in the video I don’t give out prices over public forums. Because prices change in their dependent on Vin numbers.
Hey Clay. I need a front rear bracket
what happens if my trailing arm lets go would it just drag on the road??
No I would be more concerned with the rear end shifting, then I would be about that arm, dragging on the ground.
I would do some research on what Trailing Arm does it holds the rear end from moving I mean there’s other bolts that hold it but everything that’s in your rear end has bushings on it and all of it together to keep the rear end square
Without it, it’s kind of like having rear wheel steering .
Im gonna need two of these built One side is gone but other is still intact for now so may as well do both 🤷
I need a full set front rear on both left and right
Do you ship to Canada I got an equinox is my first car and it's rotted😂
I do ship to Canada frequently
First off I’ll bet you do think you need that many ….
Do you know someone in Newaygo Michigan who can do the install of the clay brackets?
@herbertsaia5224 Yeah, me…. I literally live in Kent City…..
I have a 2002 and a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7 automatic I want to put the 2004 into the 2002 I'm a girl doing this by myself will they swap fine the engine
Sorry Cheryl I literally just seen your message anytime you’re trying to message me. It’s always best to message me on Clay’s AC and Auto Repair over Facebook because I never seen this message. I get so many messages TH-cam only shows me some but not all anyways reach out to me if you still need my help. I’ll be happy to do so I would imagine you don’t at this point.
You need make brackets for buicks with 3.8 where the cradle mounts in the back
I have a Chevy Avalanche with a broken trail air bracket…. Can you crate replacement for me
There isn’t really anything I can do Never did one of them before but I’m sure I could figure something out.
I’m from kernersville nc is there anyplace close to me you know that does this or do you sell the brackets I have a 13 equinox
Well, I hope there’s nobody nearby that sells these if they are they are infringing on my patent…. Hopefully I’m still the only place in the world to actually get them. You have to watch the video and follow the instructions.. thank you
How can I find out purchasing those brackets for a 2006 equinox. Price in shipping. Thank you Alice
Send me you vin and shipping vip code to clays ac and auto repair on facebook, send DM
Hey brother clay.. what have known or done with any Saturn S-Series models, dealing with trailing arm mounts..
Sorry, Jay, I’ve never done them.
I live in Albion do you know a welder in my area that can fix my vehicle
People bring these from so much further away than Michigan Canada, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky just the name of you, Wisconsin, blah blah blah
I don’t really have anybody over there that would do it, but just about any body that is able to breathe, even if they’ve never welded before can do these
Thank you... can you sale me those parts, for rear on my equinox 2011?
Of course

I would greatly appreciate it if you Watch the video and it will answer all your questions. It’s too difficult to go into every single facet over a text message when I discuss everything that you’re asking about in the video. Sorry about that.
And this is a text message I don’t mean any disrespect, but if you don’t have the time to watch the video, you’re not gonna be interested in the repair .

I don’t run a retail repair facility, but this is one of the very few things that I do for the public. I suppose since I invented them, I would have to be able to install them as well…
So the answer your question is yes

It’s much wider than that and it also has an 13 1/2° SKU

I will request the information that I spoke about inside the longer video I’m assuming you didn’t watch it because I also spoke about how to get a hold of me in that video.
I didn’t mean that statement rude. Ijs it’s just a lot simpler to talk about the parts that you need when you know what parts you need. If you have the ability. to look under the car some people just can’t do that and I understand
Where can I buy
You can message me on Facebook under Clay’s Ac and Auto Repair

However, I would highly recommend watching the complete video so you know what to say to me . or it’s gonna be a lot of reading because I try not to sell people things they don’t need thank you though
$20 A year and two applications of Fluid Film will prevent this problem. Works on engine cradle mounts as well. Its not planned obsolences. I have 2012, with 175k very little rust, and I live in the rust belt.
I disagree. I do believe they planned this. I’ve been engineering things for 20 years and it it is possible to intentionally engineer things this way, but you know to each their own.
Do you have anyone in the ny nj area
Yes, when you buy them. I will give you different places that you can contact.

why don't you upload a video of you doing the repair step by step to your youtube channel then the people can see for themselves if they are competent enough to do the repair before buying the bracket.
Because this is how I make a living all you really have to do is read the comments. I guarantee you anyone can do this. Unless they don’t want to.
Clay are you able to fix my trailing arm on my equinox? If so can you get back to me?
Hey. Clay sorry had a family sickness we never got back with you want to talk again I believe we already talked about doing this 2:40 for us I’m going to. Chock my phone
THX SO VERY MUCH CLAY!!!!
Hahaha haha 3:40 bahaha
Is there a shorter video for this? I need to replace mine, but I can't watch this thing. 3 minutes of crap, 4 seconds on the point 3 more minutes of crap
Well, just send it to the scrapyard then you don’t have to watch any videos. Because I invented them I own the patent for them and no they probably isn’t any other videos….. but sending it to the scrapyard is probably your best bet
@sharpcarco I suppose I could have scraped it, but instead we spent a whole afternoon building new ones out of 1/8" plate. Thanks for the advice though!
