"The track is around the vocals." The guy already understands the relationship of James and Lars, lol.
🙌🙌
The crash
Loved your expressions... exactly mine when I saw this first time, just stunning. The guy is such a pretty drummer. I know I said pretty, because that is what he is....
❤️❤️
Nailed it on so many levels another badass drummer...
🙌🙌
It's a "breakfast" for Larnell Lewis to play this song, he's a genius.
Amazing isn’t it
6:22 "ooo I'm gonna miss that!"
Then he proceeds to cleanly and accurately missing it. 😄
Jokes aside. He does a spectacular job every time. 👏
He is an amazing player isn’t he
@@joelyjamz abosolutely! Check out his “Chick’s pain” performance.
Awesome will do
I wonder if the Metallica members have seen this...
🙌🙌
He did a very great job, especially not to hear this song before. He misses a few cymbals in a few places in the song but otherwise, He killed it!
I really love the end so AMAZING! GREAT JOB MAN!!!! I have never played after tones. I learned from the beats in songs when I was 3-4 years old.
❤️❤️
I'm to the point with his version where I hear his drums whenever I get this song stuck in my head. Larnell is not of this world. You've gotta check out Dennis Chambers taking on "Schism" by Tool. It's unreal. And the one they just released, which is Frank Bellucci hearing "Dragula" by Rob Zombie for the first time, is outstanding, too. Would love to get your thoughts on those ones. Great video, as always.
That’s next week 🙌🙌🙌
He was called to stand in on tour with Snarky puppy in Switzerland. He learned the set songs on the flight over in 7 hours. Then one 3-hour rehearsal then on stage!!!!
He is such a great playing isn’t he and such a quick learner 🙌
The end where he just lets his Jazz Fusion flag fly is great because it still works because it's still right for the song. He clearly has such a great ear and great natural feel for the music that many of Lars choices made sense to him because they make sense with the music around them. So much of this is great memory mixed with great natural instincts. His choices aren't always exactly the same but they are the sorts of choices you could easily have made on the original and it still would of worked and near the end you can feel he's just decided to have fun with it.
🙌🙌🙌
I find Larnell Lewis even better than the original, but hey; I am just a fan!
❤️
As an Iron Maiden and Dio fan I've never heard this before, so I can believe he hasn't, very impressive!
It’s incredible 🙌🙌
What a great reaction! I lol’d several times. Nice job mate 🤙🤙
Thank you mate 🙌🙌
I have listened to Larnell for a couple year now and love that video. I just love watching people's reaction to it since its something that (most) people are familiar with, and watching a virtuoso go in blind and dissect it like a surgeon or a coach going over game-film and telling us what he sees the defense and offense doing is just enjoyable.
❤️❤️
"You just made a grown man h*rny" 😂😭💀
🤣🤣🤣
Watching Larnell learn is such a fascinating process. I discovered him through Snark Puppy and the Lingus video (which is maybe strange?) a while back and have been enjoying his work everywhere I can find it. Cheers for the fun reaction!
Thanks mate!!! What a drummer 🙌🙌
Larnell is just an amazing drummer. Look at his yamaha video sharifa the great, snaky puppy what about me, snarky puppy outlier, one more from Mathieu fiset, drumeo ears a song and plays it perfectly,...
He is up there with Vinnie Colaiuta and Dave Weckl.
Such a great player isn’t he 🙌🙌🙌
Hi Joely,
Great review, congrats.
Look also to Larnell's Zildjian live video, and his city of lights live drum solo video.
Cheers
Thank you 🙌
Thomas Lang next please! Love your reactions ❤
Awesome will get that done soon 🙌🙌
I love this because as a drummer you said it's even interesting seeing Larnell listen to the normal song, and for me as a non-drummer it's interesting seeing you listen to him play it for the same reasons 😆
🙌🙌🙌 thanks for the comment 🙌🙌🙌
You could tell he was a little apprehensive at first but once he got to the chorus, he opened up and got more confident but when he hit that double drum kick and those few other licks he threw in there…….he was off to the races.
The licks were so awesome 🙌
😂 “there for fucking seamen!” Brilliant
😂😂😂
I work in a recording studio and I have been playing drums for 21 years
Awesome
He gets to hear the entire track with the drums included and just completely internalized the entire song
It’s quite a tricky song to navigate through isn’t it
Tommy Aldridge- Sugarfoot Moffett- if you haven’t , definitely check them on drumeo. Great reaction! ❤️🎶❤️
Thank you very much 🙌🙌
With all due respect, it’s not the song being memorable, it’s because of Larnell’s brilliance as a musician…😅
He’s so good isn’t he
Check out Larnell with Snarky Puppy on “ Lingus”!!! ❤
I could Listen to Larnell’s voice all day. Smoooooooth.
🙌🙌
According to Mr. Hetfield Lars is an average drummer at best so the drumming isnt that advanced in any Metallica song😂
Yeah I know what you mean he’s just iconic 🙌
Absolutely phenomenal.. Legend ❤❤❤u can watch him live in zildjian incredible
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Gotta take a look at the zildjian live series. His video and Nikki Glaspie are my favorite from that series.
Will take a look
You need to react to Larnell Lewis Zildjian live!!!
Amazing!! Will check that out 🙌🙌
soo cool to watch his face as he is taking it all in it is like he is filing all the notes in his head ready to play them back....
Yeah he’s such a great player 🙌🙌
Honestly I just love watching other musicians see this and freak out as much as me because this shit is so hard.
Definitely!!! He is so good isn’t he
@@joelyjamz yeah tbh it’s who I practiced playing like when I was growing up. I like how demanding his Tom fills are.
Great symbol striker
🙌🙌
❤
🙌🙌🙌
I'm a long time Metallica fan, I remember when the black album came out. I am that old! Watching him do the listen thru and prepare was as intense as his playing. Even Lars isn't perfect all the time.
Have you watched the Drumeo with Greyson Nekrutman doing Hypnosis by Sleep Token?
No not as yet that is on the list to do 🙌🙌
