As someone who is trained in attachment theory, he absolutely is describing the anxious avoidant dance and how to stabilize the dynamic
It is nice to hear a man talking about making love, but I've watched many videos where men, including male psychologists, tell that sex is just a physical pleasure (like massage) to them and they just want to experience women, not "make love" like women do.
