In my childhood/youth, Odderøya was a strictly forbidden area to enter. It was a military base. The fortress was in the summer a restaurant with live music and dancing. Very populair! We didn't have a city-beach or a swimming hall and we didn't have terraces were you could eat and drink. Is it better today? Absolutely!
