@@NonOtherThanJesse Thanks!! After this video I ended up buying a brand new nice camera, but I have to wait a few months for it because of the chip shortage going on...but its coming! Itll also make filming easier and less time-consuming. But thank you!! 😁
@@KristinStarkey Also, keep in mind that light is even more important than a good camera. So some cheap soft boxes could be useful for your setup
@@Gulliolm this was using 2 soft boxes and a ring light...I think its definitely the camera 😅😅
Brutal!!!!! last year she was the revelation female vocalist of power metal and this year, and with this, I see that she has positioned herself so well in the power metal scene, that I can say that she is one of the best female voices of power metal (if not the best). I had never seen that level of technique in the voices in a female power singer, of perfectly imitating 3 voices with really different tessituras and they all come out perfect. I think it's true what Luca Turilli found when he included Bridget Fogle in his solo power project: The best female voice for a power metal band must have Contralto tessitura!!!!

Wow... she annunciated the growling parts so well I actually heard what she said. I've kind of just mumbled through the "heavy crown" part. I'm not a native english speaker so I've often had trouble identifying the words in songs, even though after I know the lyrics I'm like "ah yeah of course"

From being clasically trained and fully focused on operatic music, I'm amazed by your transition in such little time. Just how much time do you spend practicing? That's amazingly fast to be able to do such different singing and so well!
*Eespecially* in positioning with this level of clarity and control.
I'm currently taking development lessons to sing better as a hobby so what I'm starting to know just how much time and effort it takes to get to your level, *especially* in such little time, and especially having muscle strength, control and use in quite a different style of singing that can have quite different requirements.
I've listened to some of the best singers in the world in terms of technique and versatility (e.g Dimash Kudaibergen), and you're slowly but *definitley* making your way there with a focus on metal which I personally is something I'm yearning to listen to.
I absolutely loved the cover and am looking for more.

Tons of classically trained singers go into metal but rarely do any stand out like this and even more rarely do they sound so good in such a wide range. Most of the singers belting the high power metal stuff don't have much of a low range and vice versa but you're just good at....all areas. Did you practice this stuff throughout your life or did you really come straight from opera (I assume you're a contralto there?) into this?
Either way it's impressive, metal is a tough genre. I've seen a lot of classically trained singers come to metal, but unable to adapt and perform in it. You however are quickly becoming one of the best I've ever seen. I really hope you join or feature in a good band and create some new amazing songs ^^
Thank you so so much!! I've been a lifelong metal fan, but honestly never thought I'd be able to make something of it. I went to school for opera, finishing a doctorate in it. For years it seemed to me the only legit avenue to make a living off of singing - and I did fall in love with that too - but metal has always been closest to my heart. Both are incredibly dramatic and I love it 😆. The pandemic really cut off opera jobs for me, so I thought it was a good time to take the plunge and actually record/make videos showing my "secret" metal technique 😆. I'm thrilled people are enjoying it, and I'm enjoying it too! I hope to find a balance of working in both areas in the future...and yes, I'm a contralto 😊

The classical training is obvious, but it still would've been insane if you were this good in metal if you never practiced that. You definitely have something unique going, contraltos are quite rare in the genre as it is, it's mostly sopranos and some mezzos. And the diversity is a huge plus. Would love to nerd out more about technique but I'm not going to xD Main thing is, definitely develop further in this sphere and I hope you find that combination of both worlds that you're looking for (maybe join a symphonic metal band or metal opera?). Can't wait to hear more!
