Thanks, Jim. As always a great instructional video. I appreciate the time you put into making videos to help people learn. Your flies are always very durable and work great. 👍👍👍👍💜
Hey Jim, I am so happy I watched this again. I thought I was the only one that put ribbing on some of my dry flies. I like the trick to stiffen the post too. I don't need to do it but I am sure it will help someone. I may need to do it myself on a particularly difficult fly one day. I am watching a listing of your flies I have put together over the years. There are a lot of them on here. You are one of the most prolific tiers/teachers on TH-cam. Thanks buddy, All the best, Sean
Jim....The wire would certainly help to shore up the post and replace the use of adhesives or excess thread wraps. I can also see why those who tie a great deal of these use parachute/extended body attachments on their vise...Simple is always better and the wire seems simple...Great tutorial ! Thank You
I have to admit it Jim. Davie and you are by far the best but my 1st best is Joe Humphrey. Thanks to all 3 of you I have been tying new and improved flies same as all of you, But different materials and they look great. I can't afford the grizzly hackle yet but i'm right there... Thank you so much
Jim: I don't have trout where I live, but bluegill here tear this patten up. They LOVE it, specially when you cast it over on a bunch of them "on the beds". Chuck
Learned a lot - wing post using ultra-fine copper wire for support, securing grizzly hackle to the wing post. I will have to practice a couple of times to get it right. Also need to learn how to whip finish by hand without the tool.
@@TheFlymanJim . Hmmmmm. I would say at least intermediate, especially with that wire in the post. But excellent video. I will save and try that tie when my skills are a bit more refined.
Just wonderful! You are a gifted tyer and teacher. I so much enjoy watching and enjoying your videos. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!

Awesome! I have never seen the 3 loops to tie around done before. Now I have a new toy to play with. I got it right the ....second time :~)
Practice makes perfect. Thanks for your support

Thanks Chuck, There are many mayfly hatches on lakes and ponds, I'm sure this will be a great fly for the gills.

It is easier by hand.
Jim, could I use deer hair for the tail and wing post to get a more buoyant fly?
This is for beginners?
Yes if you watch carefully and follow carefully you can do it.

@@eileen1915wib Just stick with it you'll get it in no time.
Great videos but the dirty hands, bitten fingernails, and bloody hangnails up close is a bit much to view.
Sorry to hear that.
Really? 🙄🙄🙄
