I got the cell version but never bought a plan because I have unlimited hot spot
Informative video!
Additional use case:
If you plan to use maps for navigation on an iPad mini for example, the device will need to accurately determine your real-time location constantly. To do this you will need an integrated GPS chip. Tethering to your cell device for this purpose introduces significant latency at best, but mostly inaccurate pinpointing of your location while in motion. punching the triangle to update location while driving is a hazard to say the least. I tried this…… for about 5 seconds. Doesn’t work. So if you plan on mounting an iPad for navigation purposes you must get the cellular model as they have gps chips. As long as the device has a gps chip you could forgo purchasing a cellular plan, use wifi to download maps covering thousands of square miles to your iPad(a feature on google maps) then use the same iPad to navigate regardless of if you have a cellular plan. While navigating you would need to have wifi on but not connected to a network. I did this with a US iPhone traveling all over southeast asia. Worked beautifully with no cell coverage.
Can i use whatsapp on the wifi version?
This was exactly my point
once you start using it like let’s say for instance you open up Google Maps or Apple Maps it’s not gonna register. It’s gonna be very behind. You won’t get turned by turn instructions until it’s too late. I’m talking like three stoplights late. They’re telling you to turn when you should’ve turned three stop signs ago like believe me I tried it. I’ve had my iPad as my communication device in my car and it did not work out and it was a iPad 10th generation so it’s not like it was an old iPad at that time so yeah just invest the money. The extra $200 and get yourself the cellular plus Wi-Fi version.😂😂😂😂
It would be great if you showed the difference between the two tablets like the cellular SMS app vs Wifi. Showing you playing a game does not show the difference between the two versions, whether or not someone chooses to use the cellular option vs not having the option Wifi. And their choice then to pay the extra and only have one device vs two devices for $150 seems worth it.
Um okay …. If you around free Wi-Fi all day, you don’t need it.
If you work, primarily outside or on the go, and use your iPad for productive means and don’t wish to kill your phone battery, get the cell version.
What if Abt school? What option do you think is good?
@@serenitysavage1324 i was gonna ask the same question.
@@serenitysavage1324 i have the regular version and have been using it at school for 2 years and i would get the cellular. i have been using my phone's hotspot very often so having a built in connection would be much more convenient
@@serenitysavage1324 one thing I never knew before making the purchase is that we can't make phone calls using the DIALING like as a phone on iPads.. correct me if I'm wrong pls, I hope I'm wrong. I would like to be able to make phone calls.
Can we recieve otp's?
For my job as a photographer I use the normal one for capture one and I just tether it to my iPhone 14. No issues. And here is another thing, I can increase/reduce my data plan with my existing smartphone plan on a month to month basis for a much better deal than what I would get in return for a Apple monthly payment plan, like a mug. It works out cheaper for me.
What size Memory did you get for your i-pad Pro?
Yes, I think the price of what u would buy of Internet in Ipad u put more internet in your smartphone and connect your Ipad to it🤌
But today with the newer iPads, there is actually a function inside the settings and you can actually add a network cellular plan from your iPhone to the iPad without turning on a Wi-Fi hotspot to your iPad, you can just directly use the cellular connection directly from the iPhone, but I’m not sure. Maybe you need to always have the iPhone close to the iPad to get the signal, but it is a way now
Just ordered the cellular version. The Wi-Fi at school is awful (when it works). Don't like to connect to public networks at shopping centres, airports, cafés or restaurants. It was only €60 more.
Have been using iPads with Wi-Fi only for years but now am considering the cellular model.
Using the tether option drastically increases the battery drain from use on your iPhone, plus it’s not as reliable.
If you want the GPS chip, it is only available with the cell iPad.
what does that mean
@@lay1427to use maps
? You okay?
Not true mine has gps just like the cell one has 😊
@@yungsadwrld8814u can’t use it without wifi tho
Video is great. Almost wasted extra on disappointment 😂
Nah. It's worth it
what did you know the iPad with Wi-Fi plus LTE model can work the same way with a laptop is that both devices can actually connect to use the Internet with a SIM card with mobile data iPad and I’m not sure to android tablets have that, but can also not only these two kinds of tablets, but your laptop can also be used to insert a SIM card to use mobile data.
Definitely gonna buy an Wi-Fi only iPad. I can just hotspot my phone
It don’t work the same trust me😂
@@ReggieCelestin it does I don’t care about the battery on my phone 😂
Hotspot works for my kids ipad all the time
can it connect with android hotspot?
@@jeonnxy5510 Idk Google it
Games that require GPS such as pokemon go run terribly on the models without Cellular because lack of GPS that's a game breaker for me I have zero use for cellular besides what I just mentioned and trying to play pokemon go on my 2021 ipad pro with what seemed like 20 fps drove me nuts. Which is why I'll always buy the cellular model going forward.
But even if you had bought an iPad with only Wi-Fi capabilities, you can still download a cellular plan and use that as the alternative to a SIM card
Can you explain more
On the New Pro it is $300 more. If you live in a rural area with no wi-fi ....
Let’s say I am using a iPad cellular from 2017 and I am buying it from bobshop and the IPads price is R2000 Will I still have to pay a monthly fee
I love my cellular iPad I love using the hotspot and it gets better service than my phone and when my electric goes off my cellular iPad is the only way I have internet connection and I got mine through my carrier my iPad 10 for $195 the cellular model all I have to do is keep service on
I use it with iPad wifi but the ones that have cellular data are better but just more expensive and there’s not really no point of getting either because it’s the same thing it’s just with cellular you have to pay more
I didn’t realize cellular means wifi only and no 5g internet browsing ?
How does cellular work can you put your SIM card with carrier in the iPad to use mobile data?
@@atlanticatmosphere6695 they just added a simcard slot. Some ipada need to have plan instead of simcard slot.
can you share the 4g on your phone to your ipad wifi ?
I got the WiFi + Cell iPad 12.9 m2 6th gen . Loving it so far
❤😊❤ free wifi sucks . It’s always slow and bogged down
By everybody and they mamaz trying to use it at the same time. Plus I live in a RV so for me it’s a must.
For me who doesn’t travel or go out much I don’t need the cellular ipad. When im at work my ipad sits on the charger til i get back most wifi in hotels, restaurants and air b&B’s aren’t reliable. So if you’re like me the wifi only is your best option.
I want to be able to make calls and send and receive texts on my iPad. Can I do all that with the Wi-Fi only version? 🤔
please answer this person!!! I’m curious too!
yes you can
If the people have iphones
If you're connected to wifi and you're using imessage and/or facetime then yes. Or any third party calling/texting app that uses wifi.
But if you want to call or text numbers who don't have apple, then it won't work.
With the new m4s coming out BB has a $300 drop on their cellular unlocked model M2 iPad Pro.
I think might know at least one person who has something they don’t need?
i have 75gb of cellular data on my phone so im just gonna make a hotspot, i don’t need to buy the cellular one i think
Will the ipad 10th Gen work with personal hotspot??
Yep
Does cellular let you access your data plan or do you get 5g without cellular
Right now, Can I go for iPad 9th gen (64gb wifi) or spend some extra and get an iPad 10th gen 🤔
the ipad 10th is the ugly copy of the ipad air,. the ipad mini is better and it has the same price of the ipad 10th gen, so it’s better the 9th generation
For making note and watching movie 64 GB is enough or not?
Not
As long as you don’t download a lot of movie files to your device you should be fine. If you’re streaming it’s fine.
I’ve been using my iPad for over 3 years and I never needed over 48gb. I’ve got all of my uni files for basically all subjects, I have games, books, few episodes of shows and few movies, all entertainment apps (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+…etc).
Bro i've always been inloved with ipad. Though i can't afford 1. I'll use it for editting and graphic designs for my work. Maybe, just maybe, you can give me your spare ipad?🙂🙂🙂
I’m new to this. Can I take the sim from my phone and put it in there?
Yes you can
Thank you
New ones have eSIM only
The only reason you would wanna buy the cellular one is when you don’t plan to use any other cellular device for example, a phone or iphone. I mean, imagine you wanna opt this one as your primary phone too.
Wi-Fi + Cellular way better more options
Just use your phone as a hotspot
If you don’t have Wi-Fi at home or you can’t afford it then buy the cellular ipad and it usually cost only $15-$20 bucks a month for adding a device to your cell phone plan.
Wifi is not free. I live in the sticks I have my phone and tablet connected to a a cellular service. The extra cost of the tablet is more reasonable over the long term than paying for wifi.
I have an android phone, if I am not around wifi, can get internet via my 'mobile Hotspot and tethering'?.
Yes, you can. There are videos on TH-cam that shows you how to do it. Just search for it.
Yes
Really nice comparison!
I’m going to Italy and I bought a tablet with WiFi and cel because I need the internet and gps. How can I use?
Awesome vid G
Does the pencil work with this model and does it work with Procreate?
of course, it should work there's no reason for it to not work with the iPad.
It'll be the first generation pencil, not the better second gen.
@@ireviewapple4you incorrect. iPad mini is second gen Apple Pencil.
@@Riktamorty I’m not sure where you get Mini from? This video is based around the new 10th gen iPad, which as I said isn’t compatible with the second gen pencil since this model has the camera on the side of the screen, not the top
@@Riktamorty my ipad pro works w the second gen pencil idk what ur on
Thanks for video what game was that the one with the man running and jumping thank you
Temple run.
@@Togetherbytomilayo 😊 thanks
It’s a rip off you can connect via cell

which ipad consumes more battery??
wifi or cellular ?
Its the same
They both got the same battery size bruh
@@iron_boy_2008 you didn't get his point. Lmao
Ofcourse cellular but not much difference.
I guess what you’re really asking is if cellular consumes more than being on wifi?
How do you get does wallapapers for you iPad
if I buy the simplest one (iPad Air 5), with only wi fi and mobile data on my i phone, can I make a hotspot for the iPad?
Of course bro, i am thinking which one to buy still, cellular or not
Can we update mini6 wifi to wifi*cellular?
No. You have to purchase the wifi+cellular iPad. It’s not something that can be updated from just a wifi device.
I want a ipad mini but I also want the ipad Air. I dont know what to get but im mainly gonna use my ipad for watching anime or travelling and future use educational work do you know what ipad i should get? And also should i get the wifi or wifi + cellular?
They're both great. Comes down to your display size needs. Get the Air if you need a slightly bigger display. If portability is much more important then the mini is great too.
You basically have your phone all the time on your pocket so you can just take hotspot meaning cellular one is senseless to buy. And regarding on which ipad to buy the ipad air is bigger in size and power too the ipad mini is smaller and has less power so its your preference. I would personally take ipad air because the price is pretty similar.
@@hbrbiker6198 I wish I knew this beforehand, I did realize nowadays theres wifi everywhere I go. And tbh I might have still purchased the mini + cellular, but tbh I dont regret it because cellular is needed for me. I always go everywhere and after a week with this ipad, Cellular was used up!
can i use imessage in Wifi only ipad?
Yes, it works for both wifi and cellular. But with the wifi only version, you know you just need to be connected to wifi.
Screens don’t have anything to do with subject matter.
what is the game nema
