    I have plenty of covers in the pipe line, my own songs, music videos to go with etc... This channel hasn't suddenly become a review channel only. I thought it would be nice to sit down and talk about releases inbetween my music recordings so you get an idea of how I react.
    I have been highly anticipating Sam Fenders new album considering the BANGERS he has been teasing us with over the last year or so. This was the first time I had heard the album in full. Let me know what you think yourself in the comments below...

    Top review mate - good insights - and yeah he was playing piano on the live track - frightening level of talent on the lad.

      I have watched a couple of interviews were he mentions playing the piano there. He talks about going flat and stuff in parts and messing up the piano. I honestly couldn't hear anything wrong with it, never mind it being live. Ver very impressive stuff

    Two People was recorded before he was discovered, he decided to keep the original laid down lyrics, few more songs on this album use the same approach. I know the boys, drink in the same pubs, been watching them since they started as a band. The backing vocals you hear are from Joe (Atkinson) the 3rd Guitar and Keyboard player, I know this as I was his Roadie when he played Lead/keyboards with his last band "Lisbon" Hope that helps. Great reaction vid BTW

      Aaahhh right! Cheers for the insight there Pete! Thanks for watching too. I have been meaning to do a review of his new album too. I have heard most of the singles but could still do a first time reaction to the other tracks

    Great review! It’s funny, we had some back and forth in the comments over him not dropping down an octave in the live version of The Borders a while back! Just found your review and you made the same point here, only he does drop it down on the recorded version. I see your point!

      Thanks guys! It's fairly typical these days to record at the top of your range which is quite unstable and not always achievable every day. Vocals are a bitch...one day you wake up and they are amazing, the next they are crap. So to be sure you can hit the notes every day (especially on tour when you have 20 other songs to sing that night), it's best to take the tracks down a semitone or a tone 😁

    You should check out Without Fear by Dermot Kennedy

      I think Dermot is going to have to grow on me first. I know he is blowing up at the moment, and his song are definitely interested, but his constant belt frustrated me when I first heard him. It's so popular these days to just shout down a microphone (Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, Tom Walker) and Dermot seemed to be jumping on the band wagon ever more so - so I was like ✋. But I'm sure I'll get over it soon and start to enjoy his material 😁

    hi mate i know the album has been out for over a year now but i’ve been listening since his first singles and i’ve heard a lot of songs that have influenced specific songs that are on the album. there’s a band called big thief that have a song called Shark smile i think that sounds very very similar to White privilege, obviously there’s the blatant born to run/dancing in the dark influence on hypersonic missiles too. and i’m sure you’ve noticed the similarities between last nite by the strokes and will we talk haha! another one i stumbled on by accident was a song called Strangest Thing by the War on drugs that has a drop in the middle where the electric guitars come in and it sounds ever so much like the drop in dead boys, and the solo in his newest single hold out. cheers!

      Hiya mate! They are all very very good references yeah I can hear them all too now you mention. I bet you when he was writing he didn't even realise but I bet you a lot of the tracks you mentioned where up there in his subconscious when writing them

      Kieron Smith yeah, i’ve seen him acknowledge when his songs sound like another and i think it’s very good of him to not try and hide it or anything, to be inspired is sometimes to unwillingly steal, and obviously it has more than worked for him. love the kid

      @@Backstreetsmusic exactly yeah. I mean it's not like he is ripping things off! It's just being influenced 😁

    Rating out of 10?

    • @KieronSmithMusic
      @KieronSmithMusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A solid 8.5/10...of the songs where a little more uplifting and gave more 'hope' I'd give a 9.5
