Plastics 101 Webinar Series: What are Plastics?

On September 12, 2024 the Roundtable on Plastics hosted a webinar, What are Plastics? This session featured leading experts Rebecca Altman (Writer and Sociologist) and Tim Long (Arizona State University), who delved into the history, current state, and future of plastics. Rebecca Altman explored the drivers behind plastics use and development, as well as the evolution and rate of growth of plastics. Tim Long provided insights into the science of plastics, including their types, properties, and implications for their fate. The event culminated in a dynamic panel discussion moderated by LaShanda Korley (University of Delaware), featuring Jill Martin (Dow) along with the two other speakers.
