      A thing to think about is that you were probably hitting way to fucking hard if he was running in sparring as when you are teaching someone for the first time you have to gradually get them used to the intensity then slowly go higher intensity otherwise there is honestly no point in teaching them as they are not going to want to do it

    • @kristianjensen5877
      @kristianjensen5877 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Making people put in a lot of work to catch you can be a legit game plan though.
      Having an opponent chase you can tire them out quickly if they're being super aggressive and you can make them throw a lot of whiffed punches at you during the chase.
      The frustration of a good chase can also be a bit of a mind game. It can provoke an opponent to be reckless with their shots once you allow them into range because in their mind they're "finally" in striking range and feel they need to get as many strikes in as possible.

      @The Tide Rises do it for 5 5-minute rounds with the best in the business trying to counter you and get back to me on that statement. People they have fought and they have explicitly stated their cardio allows for them to do what they do.

    • @az8039
      @az8039 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @The Tide Rises1. Didn’t straw man your argument. You are making the statement that throwing 50% speed and power punches is slightly harder then standing stil, removing all context of the actual original statement of this situation. The OP is talking about the fighting style of the Diaz brothers not bad shadow boxing.if anyone is doing any straw manning here it’s actually you.
      2. Take your own advice. Your mitt holding is terrible. The guys you “train” are throwing their 3s 4 inches from their face but their 1-2s at full extension creating a terrible habit.
      Edit: furthermore, you compartmentalized this conversation about boxing . The op requested a totally separate video regarding a fighting style.

    Good job using your Gongfu. The sensitivity made through contact helps you plot the next move; that's why there are so many variations of guard entries in Gongfu styles. They are all different ways or establishing or re-est. connection as we try to develop positional advantage. relative to our footwork and the opponents movement.

    As a southpaw, if he circles left I trap his left hand and hook the face (or if he's jabbing throw a corkscrew over the top). If he goes right I kick the liver.
    Forces him to fight a linear fight, which gives me immense control of the tempo and where I want it to go. If I want to keep it linear, I hit him with a teep then fake it and go high.

    Feedback from the arm you are touching your opponent with is something ive got from Judo. You can feel instead of seeing, and i think the reaction time of that is quicker, since you are responding to the physical input.
    When something hurts you physically you almost always touch that part of the body first, way before your eyes can catch up.
    Now change the pain to the input from the opponent, which can end up in being hurt.
    Clinching/MT, Judo, Wrestling/Grappling, Aikido. All of them use that, to diffrent degrees but still.

    Action beats reaction in most cases. Realistically, you'd have to train a muscle-memory reaction to this. Off the top of my head, I'd say you'd want to fire a left check-hook. That said, this is very much a ring adaptation of the standard street fighting technique of grabbing your opponent's clothing with one hand and using the other hand to strike, stab, etc.. Good stuff.

    You can try this all you want, but it won't matter against me. Accept my challenge; Kickboxing, Muay Thai, or Boxing.
    Let's get it

    Easier in Kickboxing just throw leg kick to the leg they are going towards.

    Getting punched in the face isn't scary. Try getting a table leg to the temple and not getting knocked out.
    Try steel toe boots to the head and it only pissing you off.
    Try a guy sneaking you from the side with his buddies trying to jump you.
    Try having broken ribs and a guy telling you to stand up. So you try to stand up and hes so terrified that he can't even wait. And then after he's swung all his punches before the cops rush in and your only wound is a small cut on the top of your nose.
    Minus the broken ribs, cause the cops tased tf outta you, and wanted to taz your heart, because some beach wouldn't leave you tf alone in a public space.
    Try a guy trying to hit you with a girthy stick only to have it break on him, and your hand grabs his windpipe on its own.
    Try a guy in Cali pulling a knife on you when your in a boxing stance cause he won't leave you alone.
    Try wrestling a guy while his buddy is trying there best to hit you all over your head during the "fight", taking shots to your temple, the back of your head nose, ears, etc and it's not even registering, but the blood is flowing well.
    Lmfao those are infinitely "scarier" then a punch to the face.

    Simple. Cut the angle, kick his body or legs. Let him run. Don't take him down

    A boxing coach implying trapping?! What a time.
    (Jokingly)
    This has been shown in the rocky movies a couple times. Just saying. This is a cool concept, cuz I've sparred with people that would "run." Definitely irritating when they do that.
