Thank for watching! Find out more about concert production and the live music business in the rest of the series here on TH-cam. I have also written a book, 'The Live Music Business', which has more details. Read about the book here: amzn.to/3u4vjkY😃

Thank you for this series. I became a concert addict after the pandemic and somehow stumbled into promoting, did a successful first event pretty much winging it, now I have a lot to learn :)

Andrea, Thanks for leaving a comment here. I have not been attending to this channel (I'm back on it now) so did not see this until now.
So, hows the promoting going. Have you done anymore shows? Let me know!

VAT is inc in the ticket price, currently 20%...not sure why you're using the Lex in London and US dollars as the currency as an example, but a 10 pound ticket is only worth £8.33 so nett income on a sell out is £1666.67, not £2000....less 700 promoter's costs....id offer 800 guarantee.....1000 and you're losing money before youve even started

Thank you for comment. The calculations and currencies I use are illustrative as these videos are watched by people from all over the planet (hello everyone!). I don't mention sales tax (VAT in the UK) for the same reason. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

Hi. Once artists are booked for shows how many contracts should I have ? Ie. Venue contract with promoter and contract bet. ARTIST and promoter? Thanks

The artist will have a contract with the promoter. The promoter may be the venue as well (in house promoter). Promoters who hire a venue (outside promoter) will have some hire/rental agreement with the venue and the artist would not get involved with that.

    What about venue rent???

I'm not sure what your question is. Venue rent/ hire is a promoters cost and I have included it in the costs mentioned in this video. I hope this helps?
