Thanks for identifying the car makes and engine sizes, some of which are much larger than the original engines! Amilcar CGSS with more than 5 times its original displacement. Also great to see many young faces in old cars.
I am absolutely FASCINATED by this type of motorsport! Have been for a long time. Unfortunately we have nothing like this in Australia, so it is 100% on my bucket list! Thank you so much for sharing 👍
We used to have this in Australia! My first car was a 1928 Chummy....rather modified....and it carried me reliably through several Austin 7 Club mud trials in 1955. It did get drowned on one occasion, but we pushed it out of the creek, took the head off, emptied out the water, and carried on! This was in Victoria. Great fun....but no more...as I'm now 89.
That dear little TopHat near the end of the video..!! I have a 1927 one that is very[precious to me here in New Zealand. I could not imagine throwing her around a mud track like this one, but I'm impressed and amazed at your gorgeous cars and how robust they really are! Worth thinking about.. maybe?
Hi, fantastic video. Love seeing these machines performing in conditions they would have seen back in the day. I wonder though, having seen quite a few videos of these VSCC trials, is it a timed race or simply seeking completion of the course?
It is not a race. Each car is trying to get as far up the hill as possible without stopping or rolling back. Each hill has markers at intervals to determine how far the car gets. 25 is the top marker.
Fantastic video; I was born in Cullompton and my father Clyst St Lawrence; His first car was an Austin 7 before he ended up in RAF during WW2. He always said they were good cars apart from the brakes so good to be going uphill.
This lot need 200hp of nitrous slinging through them, mind you, it would soon make the crankshaft and half of the block disappear into the woods quick time 💣💥🤣
Hello Chris, Thank you for the awesome videos. I believe that I told you I am starting a TH-cam channel with the build of a 1928 Morgan RIP (MG) Special. I located an experimental opposed cylinder twin engine so far. I am building a foundry to cast the two piece adapter so I can mount the engine to the flywheel on an MG transmission so that the clutch will work . That way I will have 4 forward gears and a reverse. Using the MG rear instead of the GN rear still makes a Special however now we have two wheels and beautiful wire wheels. The project that I have been sourcing for is an MG Magnette F tipo with a supercharger. It can either be a polished steel or aluminum but I may opt for -Glass painted British Racing Green. The frame weight is lessened and it became a boat Tail racer with a gorgeous look. I just need to find a supercharger but I might use a str8 6 to get more power out of the car.
Dad's 5 member family went on holiday to Wales in an Austin 7. He was mad for the seaside and mightily miffed when they pulled up in the countryside. He was satiated by a Welsh lamb full baked dinner that night. I wondered how you could fit 5 people and luggage in a 7.
This is great... poor old but wonderful motors. Good old British wet weather. Q, do any 3 wheelers do this..? Guaranteed to stop the Germans...in their tracks ..😂👍👍👍 And do the Germans do anything as mad as this...🤔 Full credit to the very helpful marshalls...👍
