Matthew 4 24 | Jesus' Human Nature - "I am so tired." (The Chosen) | Season 2 Episode 3

  • This is a powerful scene where we hardly see the human side of Jesus. So human that he too exhausted after a long tiring day ministering the people. This scene is to testify that indeed Jesus is truly man and divine. It is best captured in this short clip. I hope whoever watch this will be enlightened just as how it did to me. Something that we can relate, the human condition. By the way, I used this during my 7 Day Ignatian retreat and it touched my heart to the very core.
    Have a closer look also at Mary. Take notice of her motherly instinct and how immediately she came to Jesus without delay. She knew that Jesus would need her even without the need for Jesus to ask.
    I believe we can resonate this scene deeply.
    Special thanks to the crew and all the team of "The Chosen" for making this relatable.

    I love this scene because Jesus didn’t stopped the fight by talking to them, but He stopped it by showing how loving others should be, Jesus was tired by helping people that He barely knows, and that how our life should be. Pete needs to love Matthew because that’s how Jesus wants us to love. ❤

      @@cluelessangel5292he probably can better than me, but it is a Catholic prayer said at night, as the name suggests. There are prayers for each time of day. I went to Catholic school most of my school life but never knew about this until college. It almost reminds me of how Muslims pray 5 times a day, the demarcated prayers and prayer times are about this number and frequency. It’s nice.

    While Jesus was out healing and ministering, they were releasing grudges to each other stirring a huge fight. And sometimes, that's who we are as Christians, instead of showing love and care to the unreachable, poor, lost and unsave, we spend it bickering and pointing out each others mistakes and sins.

    They sat around the fire discussing why they’re there, taking shifts with Jesus, complaining of the work they’ve done which led to bickering and resentment towards each other until Jesus walked in tirelessly of the work he had done. He worked so tirelessly that stopping to address the anger/fight wasn’t even worth addressing. His mother finally saw her chance to help him as she thought he would have never needed her anymore. The disciples witnessing this made them realize how small their problems really are. Beautiful.

    What make this more touching more personal was just earlier in this episode. As they were sitting around the fire, Mary was talking of all the things he could do now and what he had become. Then she said he doesn't need me anymore. And you could see that it hurt and saddened her to think that her son had outgrown the help she felt she could provide as a mother. And in this moment, Jesus showed to his mother, no matter what I do. No matter who I become, I will always need you.

    One of my favorite parts about what this video skips over before it started is the fact that all of that is why I walked away from religion for well over 15 years (and no, at no point during that did I stop being there is a God)! Most of them will beg for forgiveness of their own sins by the ones that cry the loudest and begs the most for it will also work as hard to be the first in line to put the first nail in for those that have done any sin they hate the most!!! I’ve had enough nails drilled into me! But no one could ever put more of them in my arms and feet than I have myself!

      I felt your words to my very core! I don't think you were at the right church if people were condemning instead of loving you and helping you in your relationship with God. You are right also about being all hardest on ourselves! It seems hardest to forgive ourselves of sins we committed, because we relive them over and over, but we have to forgive ourselves because we can't be healed if we don't! Know you are deeply loved by God and he wants to heal you! I am praying for you as I write this for you to know God has a wonderful future for you. The past is past and it is valuable for all the lessons learned, and to be able to relate to others and share your testimony and to show you that God has never left you through all these years. He loves you so much! ❤

    0:56- Is that what is was supposed to symbolize? That he was fine until they started arguing amongst themselves and then he had nothing left? I definitely didn’t get that!!! I took it as all he was doing all day long is why he was so tired! And he also knew what was going on so he said “yeah, not today!” But then “we” never got to see the end result!?! Either way, yeah! I get it Jesus!!! I am also completely tired of it all also! Especially since I’ve been down in the gutter for well over 20 plus years and the only time things get even remotely better is so it can now get worse again but in a different way!!! But since I don’t have any real powers or the strength or the support from others or family I was fighting a losing battle! It also doesn’t help that I was “blessed” with the curses that ruled over almost all of my life!!

    Can someone explain this scene to me, I don’t fully understand it.
    I understand that Jesus did heal so many, but at the same time the sign of weariness was from the disciples fighting among themselves.
    I can’t help think that somehow the devil was attacking him spiritually through the aggression of his disciples for which Jesus loved all.
    I could be wrong, but this scene really was interesting and yet confusing to me.
    Much appreciated for the insight, blessed upon you 🙏🏻

    • @nicname3147
      @nicname3147 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      From my understanding(I literally just finished watching this episode for the first time), Jesus was simply tired from healing everyone the entire day. It is very possible that Satan was causing Jesus to go through spiritual warfare as well. Especially since some of Jesus's disciples mention that there was fighting in the crowds of people through out the day too. I think that despite Jesus telling John back in 2x01 that he is very much a man, him and the rest of Jesus's followers tend to forget that. They see The Son of God, but often forget about The Son of Man. When Jesus finally comes back in the middle of the night exhausted, so much so that he can't even take his coat off without the help of his mother, it reminds the disciples that Jesus is every bit Man that he is God. And once the disciples finally have this revelation, they cease their arguing immediately. Not only because of how shaken they are, but because their love and respect for Jesus outweighs their temporary anger and annoyance they hold toward each other.

    The chosen really tries hard to glorify Mary…. Only Jesus the creator of heaven and earth and us and Mary herself is worthy of praise and worship. And if u are not obeying his words by not repenting of sins and putting ur faith in him and baptised in his name u will not be saved. No movie can do justice to the life of sinless spotless lamb Jesus Christ. Read the Bible and understand through the Holy spirit ..not by some man who’s not even a true christian.. role playing as the chosen one..

    • @journeygirl4ever
      @journeygirl4ever 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think God is most definitely using this show to help us all to connect to the humanity of Jesus. I don't think they were trying to glorify Mary. They were trying to show that Jesus gave his all for people because he loved them so much and he was human and got extremely tired. This beautiful moment of his mother's compassion towards her son was absolutely precious! Please lay down your judgements and just consider that these people making this show are just wanting to bring the Bible to life. To show that life back then is exactly the same today as it was then. We all are human, we all need love, we all need to eat, need shelter, have to work to make a living and that we are all in the midst of this spiritual battle that has been raging since Lucifer rebelled against God. So what if we have more technology today...that does not make us any different than any generation that has ever existed. The wonderful thing is that with this technology, God's word is reaching the entire world. People are searching for God and this show is beautiful, even if it is not perfect. I have always known Jesus was down to earth (humble) and relatable and with a great sense of humor, yet with fierce conviction against sin. He also fiercely loved us all! He was with God before he came to earth and he knew each of us by name before we were even born and he died for each one of us! God is love and I believe he is using these actors to help many people find him. Praying for God's blessings to be upon you in Jesus' name! Amen! ❤
