  • Here are snippets from my new morning routine. Zen Master Lin Chi said, "When hungry, eat your rice; when tired, close your eyes. Fools may laugh at me, but wise men will know what I mean." Zen mind is just what you are doing right now. It is not special. Thank you for your support!

    Love the detail of the morning routine! I always forget the water in the morning. Very important. Thanks for sharing!

      You're welcome! I was wondering why I was feeling dehydrated and tired in the late morning. Drinking water made a big improvement.

    My practice schedule now is sitting and walking in the AM, chanting Dharanis around midday, also generosity practice.
    Thank you!

    As always. I love the " intermissions" that most people don't think are important x
    Thank you 🙏 your videos always help deeply xx. My practice schedule is awful at present, but we are renovating and I've lost my mediation room.. so I'm having to do it as and when ...

    Great video! Doing “hard practice” has toughened me up. It used to be hard, but now it’s gotten a lot easier. Sometimes when I feel I need to move around, I do my 108 bows. Love that story about the Buddha and the middle way! I heard a Tibetan teacher talk about trying to achieve a 50/50 balance. But really everything is a type of practice. I went to Paris recently and coming back it was a 9 hour flight in a very uncomfortable seat! I felt that that situation was a type of hard practice. How do you keep a clear mind when kids are yelling, people are getting up and down, turbulence, your back hurts, no sleep and there’s no room to move? I had to connect to my breath and try to relax. Thanks again!

      The coming back from Paris practice you mentioned is much more challenging then intensive week at Kyol Che! 😁

    The practice that is working currently for me in the weekdays is a: 10 min stretch, 10min cardio and a 15min sitting. Weekends is a: 10 min stretch, 10 min weights, 30min cardio and 30-45min sitting.

    Hi there Jason, my practice has changed a lot recently. After I got to know the school (kwan um school) I started doing 30 min meditation every morning. This usually also on weekends although it is looser there. In the last have become two 30 min sessions, 10 min or breath/ qi qong exercises and then during the home and work trip I repeat great dharani and heart sutra. I must say that on vacation I tend to be more...quiet but I seem to keep a consistent practice.

    Hi Jason. Would you share with us the recipe for the porridge you prepare in this video. Thank you.

    • @JasonQuinnZen
      @JasonQuinnZen  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For 2 servings:
      1 cup quick cooking organic steel cut oats
      2 cups water
      After oats are done cooking, add approximately:
      1 tablespoon, or more, peanut butter
      1 tablespoon honey
      1 tsp cinnamon
      Add raisins or blueberries to preference. My son likes raisins and my daughter likes blueberries.

    Zen practice is not 'fixated' practice or approach because Zen is NOT about knowing, knowledge, learning, meditation, science, psychology, philosophies, virtues, morality spirituality, beliefs systems, theologies, religions, etc.
    'Zen' to 'realize & see' One's True Self Nature within Oneself - which is sudden, experiential & natural. It is unpredictable, non-local & non-deterministic. 😊🙏🙇‍♂️🌷

      Yes, understanding is delusion;
      Not understanding is blankness.
      In Zen, neither is understanding nor not understanding.
      How can it be found?
