As a Sydneysider, I’m honoured they chose Sydney as the main setting for the film. I don’t know about Americans when they see their hometown in a lot of films but this for me was amazing! Pointing out all the streets made me feel like a child. An instant Australian classic!
@@3CFilms I agree with Chris about Oscar thing but the one thing Chris did not say is that it might win for sound mixing and sound effects. Also this movie might win a kid’s choice award on kids choice awards.
I saw this on Monday, I absolutely loved it! I’m a bit of a sucker for movies set around film directing. Ryan Gossling and Emily Blunt had perfect chemistry together, it’s by far one of my favourite movies of 2024 so far theatrically!
I already was looking forward to it but was surprised how much ended up I liking this movie. Is it perfect? No and I share some of your criticisms. But this was such a sympathetic movie that has so much heart for Stunt people so it's hard to dislike it. You see that everyone had so much fun making it
I just went to go see this movie a few hours ago! It’s def a fun and super entertaining movie! I would def recommend if you want a good story and some funny action!
This lived up to the billing of being a very fun and enjoyable theater experience, and it did give proper respect to stunt professionals. I'm already planning to see this again in theaters! Make sure to watch the behind the scenes show "Action" on Peacock.
I definitely enjoyed the movie but i did feel like the pacing was wack for a lot of the movie's runtime and certain scenes had some very choppy editing. But those are just nitpicks really but i think my biggest gripe is just how much it didnt really feel like things started escalating bcuz i guess all the focus was really on Gosling and Blunt's romance instead of the mystery plot.
Saw it Wednesday night absolutely freaking loved it. It’s one of my favorite movies of the year so far me and my grandma are going on Saturday. I can’t wait to take her. I think she’s gonna love it. Also, stay during the credits everyone the whole credits!!!
the show was awesome, grew up watching it with my grandfather along with dukes of hazard and old episodes of gunsmoke. i remember hearing about this way back when the rock was signed up for it at first, when he was doing action movies that were good.
21 jumpstreet was good Cobra Kai was good Fall Guy looks to be good Movies and Tv shows based on old movies and tv shows seem to be pretty good when they are heavily marketed ( yes I know there are more stinkers than good films but still)
I saw this last night at a IMAX early screening & had so much fun with it !! Felt a little too long at the ending but overall really fun time at the theater !! Been debating on if I should I see it again
Chirs I remember the TV show and Lee Magers as the fall guy I love that show and I'm not a fan of Rayne gosling and on the fence about this movie does it respect the TV show and does it respect the character Colt Seavers that is why I'm on the fence about this movie
I saw this movie on Wednesday. It was funny and cool at the same. I didn’t watch Barbie so this is my first time watching a Ryan Gosling movie in theaters. Did anyone spot Lee Majors? The star of the 1980s TV-show of the same name was supposed to appear in this movie as a police officer I think.
colt was really the best actor of ryan gosline and emily blunt play as joy director like wow what an incredible movie i ever seen in my life best movie in 2024
I liked it very much. The only thing that's missing is the violence. The tone for the crime plot is pretty dark and I kinda wanted to see a more heavy finale with some of the bad guys getting killed. It is kinda like the Starsky & Hutch movie
@@3CFilms yes, especially these scenes gave me 80s movie vibes, I thought it will end on that tone, the ending was rather child- friendly. And even though it is marketed as a movie for everybody, I still hoped for a more impactful ending. The scene with Ryder was rather comical in the end. They shot Sievers with automatic guns, have beaten him up badly and the villains didn't stop until the very last scene. It is almost if the producers wanted to do more serious stuff but didn't because they could lose a part of the audience
This movie did being meta right I loved it, they talked to the audience with the script like every single movie has in the last 8 years, but did it right and respected the audience
Yeah, the 1st half bored me to death I almost left the theatre. The uneven tone that didn't hit the mark reminded me of John Badham's The Hard Way also a bit about movie making. And Chris, you brought up an excellent point at the end, the actual stuntwork was glossed over with unnecessary CGI it looked so fake, kind of like a slap in the face to the whole point of the movie, I was shocked the making-of scenes at the end looked WAY better.
Stunt workers really are the unsong heroes of movies. Because if there wasn't for them we wouldn't even get half of the awesome action scenes and stuff and movies
Paying respect to stunt people was great. The movie on the other hand, it was alright. Way too much rom com, story was lackluster and uninteresting, and action sequences could've been a lot better and more heavily focused.
Just saw this. For me; I’ve seen movies on Netflix that are just as good. I definitely don’t think it’s worth the trip to the theatre. Wait for it to be released at home. It’s truthfully not that great, and it’s by no means a classic.
As a Sydneysider, I’m honoured they chose Sydney as the main setting for the film. I don’t know about Americans when they see their hometown in a lot of films but this for me was amazing! Pointing out all the streets made me feel like a child. An instant Australian classic!
Cris reviewing a movie that he’s the lead in is beyond selfish 🤦♂️

David Leitch would be a great choice to direct a Ghost Rider movie if Marvel ever decides to do one.

My dad loves the show, I don't know if he knows there's a movie based on it though, guess I'll have to tell him.
I don't blame anyone if when they saw the title, they thought of the fall guys game
I wasn’t interested at first, but the movie’s marketing sold me.

How did they not ship in the old truck for the final jump? This truck in the 80s was as much of a character as any actor
If I had a nickel for ever time Ryan gosling did an action movie playing a stunt performer as the main role I’d have two nickels
How does this have 1 view in 4 hours?? Cris did u make this public?

Great Review Cris! 👍
After watching this in theaters, I have to say that this is the best movie I have seen in years.
I guess Chris has never watched The Devil Wears Prada? Emily Blunt is pretty funny in that movie.
Funny you say that, I haven’t lol
ah yes Mary Poppins returns very serious, dramatic and action packed

It is kinda like the Starsky & Hutch movie
I understand that. I thought the moment they almost set him on fire was close to that but I guess not enough throughout the movie

I loved it used to watch the series so had a lot of call backs to it. The cameo by Majors was good too.
