Virtual World was one of the archetypes that got me excited to get back into Yugioh after a very long break. Since their release I've had a fun time combining them with Swordsoul, where the goal is to sit on Chengying and Shenshen.
This deck really needs a 1 card starter. Something similar to exo Martha. Something else that would be interesting is if they had a link monster(or just a synchro that has an alternate summon condition of tributing 2 VW monsters) that treats itself as a level 4 monster when in the deck/field. Or just anything to bypass the VW lock and give them a level 4
Nyancat animation rainbowy ref. is priceless. Thanks! I am to this day in love with mu VWs. Of course I do not amuse myself with all possible combos I can pull through, but even in autopilot my love for these powercrept little ones do not fade.
Virtual World is such a fun archetype, shame they are tied with the most hateful boss monster in VFD. Although with the new synchro in Golden Cloud Beast - Malong they're able to branch into more new fun stuff
Really loving the additional theming and i wouldn't mid if you went video essay long if it meant explaining all the wild stuff that goes into this archetype's inspirations.
another benefit of the P.U.N.Ks is that Dragon Drive can add Lulu or bin Nyannyan to start the Virtual World engine (depending on if you need Lulu to add cards or a Virtual World on field to activate any VW and bin Qinglong to get to Lulu, though you can also just make one of the rank 3 VW XYZs to get one on field, which is pretty easy) I've also been running 1 Shaddoll Beast and 1 Havnis to make Winda on the opponent's turn, it makes the deck floodgate-y bullshit, but it's very effective paired with a quicksynch amazing dragon for whatever your opponent special summons as their 1 permitted summon under Winda. I've considered teching in Gold Pride, but to make the engine small is to lose repeatability every turn and can often lead to start your engines being offline.
Just realized Nova left out how well the Adventure engine works. We don't need our ns anyway and it gives us access to a bounce, omni negate, semi -kaiju and access to level 7 and 10 synchros as well.
They probably don’t need any new level 9 synchros for a while - there’s already tons of good options. I’d like to see more rank 3 and rank 9 options. I’d also like them to have more access to non-targeted removal. Somehow, the 3/6-axis synchro/xyz toolbox has tons of variety, but leans heavily on targeted effects.
@@brycebledsoe3870 they won’t make anymore ranks; all 4 ranks and VW gates are based off the 4 directional guardians of asian mythology. As for synchro, a lv 12 synchro makes sense since it opens more diverse Roshi plays and plays off the boss synchro monsters lore too

that would bring the deck back pretty big. I need that and the other continuous spell so the continuous spell/trap lineup has all the 4 gates split evenly 2-2. Most of payoffs are basically all there but what it needs is like consistency, insulaton from interuption and such. Also any time something is a rank 6 or 9 ever in the future that just means I will have my eyes on it.
I've been a Digimon fan since the Cyber Pet craze in the 90s and first saw the Animé when it first aired here in the UK, so, naturally, when I heard there was basically a Digimon Deck in Yu-Gi-Oh!, I decided to head out and, as I eventually managed with Zoodiacs, collect a Playset of every single one! I thought I was done, but Tiger clearly shows I'm not (how did I miss that one!?), no thanks to Chuche and Kauwloon, but I have a Playset of those two now, so, jus one more... (it's like with Destiny HERO all over again...) In fact, I got a Sigma and a Break Sword jus for these, as well as another Coral and Iron Chain Dragons along with a card I like to play in here: Trishula! They're easy to make and have decent Effects and I think that covers it!
I love this deck ever since I saw this in master duel and duel links, i paired it with the P.U.N.K archetype and surprisingly it works extremely well. I always have fun with it and i pretty much consider ShenShen as my faithful loyal companion ❤
As a budget these days I entered a couple of champs playing hot in my room for a single ED tech. Won me so many games. I had never tested it before. But it worked as intended. Chcuhe on anything and Hot in answer to Chuche targeting DRNM.
There has to be a 4th one, possibly called something like Baihu. The gates and their corresponding Xyz monsters represent different animal symbols in Chinese mythology/astrology. Qinglong/Longlong represents East, Chuche/Fanfan represents South, Xuanwu/Jaja represents North, and Fufu and the unreleased 4th gate represents West.
Another tag option that has made me annoy my friends is crystron quariongandrax, its not too difficult to summon and is a lvl 9 to convert into a xyz and is decent monster removal for going second Though its not the best option i will mention that, it is possible and funny to watch ur friends tilt over
jaja is literally one of the best VW xyz monsters, like, he is the best rank 3 choice you can run in a VW deck. Fortune Tune and Breaksword cant compare to what jaja provides for VW
Bruh just left out how u can play the Swordsoul engine which is is better than Punk and the Gold Pride engines. He also forgot how VW now is just a consistent Crimson Dragon Deck Now. And he left out the lock with Mayakashi trap and transition roll back. I just know this cuz this what I'm doing with the deck lol

As a former MD player I have… intensely mixed feelings about this archetype. On the one hand they have a VERY good aesthetic and inspiration; but on the other hand they are absurdly hard to learn to play (up there with Endymion in terms of “my brain shuts down trying to process all the moving parts”), and they can be quite annoying to play against, especially given how often VFD shows up as a guest star.

It was the first core set to come out after I got into competitive, and when VFD got banned, I tried VW.
