Oh yeah. Most of the fans when he lived sayd those songs are great and etc. When he died the same fans surprised to know his depression while almost all of their song is about depression... It was tragic to seeing those suprised fans... they didn't understand their songs at all.
@ my first song that I listened to by Linkin Park was "Breaking the Habit" and I saw the animated music video (original) on MTV and knew it had a deep meaning because they had a girl who cut herself in front of the mirror and then a guy who committed suícide from falling off a building( Chester). Then MTV removed it because it was too graphic and so they redid the music videos. The rest of their songs were pretty emo / punk but my adolescent didn't know much about the artist and how they were feeling, just that they created very good music.
Of all the reactions I've seen of this song nobody ever mentions him hitting that high note on 'up' right after that unbelievable scream. That's equally impressive to me.
I've come across a channel that did female ex-vocalist or something look for a channel by the name of "The Charismatic voice" She breaks it all down and explained it all so in-depth.

It’s so hard for me to listen to Linkin Park after Chester’s death. Like I felt so invested in the band and Chester’s singing that I struggle to listen to their songs without immediately getting super emotional at the same time. His passing really hit me hard, pretty the only death that would hit me harder is if/when one of my parents pass away.
