Her name is Emily Armstrong and her band dead Sara was one of Chesters favorite bands and he was the reason she became a singer so she is a perfect fit and I am excited to see where they go with her. I love this song
I'm not seeing anything on dead sara being one of his favorite bands. I found a video of him saying his top three are depeche mode, black sabbath and the cure. It's a video on here called "Top Three with Linkin Park."
Mike Shinoda is the opening singer in this song, he’s also the Linkin Park co-founder, primary song writer and producer on the new album and most of their older music as well..
Won't be wrong to call him the founder since Rob and Brad came in later. Mike and Mark created the band Xero initially and Mark left shortly after before it became Linkin Park officially.
@@dybiosolThey weren't really a band when it was just Mike and Mark, they were just two friends writing songs together. With Brad and Rob they founded the band, all four of them together. Mike has always been the creative core of the band, but he didn't found it alone, so "co-founder" is correct.
LP is Mike's band so if he wants to continue it's his call. Alternative is we never hear these songs again. "From Zero" probably does refer to a new start for the band, but Linkin Park was originally called Xero even before Chester was the singer. They had a singer before Chester. I tear up EVERY time I hear this. Emily sounds great. Their music helped me get through so much shit when I was in my early thirties, I can't wait to hear how they do. A great new era for Linkin Park!
I'm 28 years old. Been listening to Linkin Park for about 20 years now and I've literally grown up on rock/metal music. In all my years, I have never enjoyed female rock vocals, until this song. With female vocals, it will either sound too pop-y, or it's just deep growls, and I'm not a fan of those with male metal voices either. I'm obsessed with this song and I hope all the songs on the new album will bring this level of energy and range. Some times, I can literally almost hear Chester in her screams. One thing I do really want from the new album though, is acknowledgement to Chester. Like, actually name him, and talk about him. I need to hear an emotional song about him, especially from Mike, where he talks about it all. How he felt, the band, and how it affected his view on the world and music business. I really hope they won't just pretend like Chester never even happened. There NEEDS to be some closure if they want to continue under the Linkin Park name to avoid it feeling like they're just continuing under that name because it's a big brand
For anyone thinking Emily is trying to "replace" Chester, I would advise them to listen to what Mike has said at their reunion concerts: [When introducing the band at the first concert back] "...I'm Mike, and this is Emily. And in the role of Chester Bennington tonight is each of you." [During a short talk break in their LA concert, the second back] "This is not about erasing the past. It's about moving forward so we can continue making music we love for you all."
There's no replacing Chester, it's completely impossible. However, Emily is the new Linkin Park and even though she is a new singer, the music still sounds completely "Linkin Park". There's no denying the sound.
I agree that it kind of reopens that wound from losing Chester, but at the same time it's like a breath of fresh air as soon as she starts singing. And with that alone I think it's it's perfect. She's not trying to be Chester she's just being herself
We all definitely need to remember the lyrics to Mark the Graves: "There's a fragile game we play / With the ghosts of yesterday / If we can't let go we'll never say goodbye". There's no forgetting Chester or his legacy, and no replacing him, but the band (and all of us) still need to keep moving forward. Emily, in my opinion, is a great addition to the band to let them move forward.

It’s a good story They never set out to “come back” - the band started hanging out and playing music together because they missed being together. They invited other musicians to play with them, just kinda having fun. At some point when they were playing with Emily and Colin (new drummer) they realized they felt like Linkin Park - it just moved from there, and holy crap, it works. Happy for them! Good reaction!
I was never a fan but I loved Hybrid Theory, I listened to them performing some of the tracks from that album and it have me chills and I did get a little emotional amazing can't wait for an Irish gig
I have been a LP fan since day one and although Chester is still very much missed 💔 by all of us fans, I personally am excited for this new era of LP! Emily is awesome and a great fit 🥰 Love watching you guys and much love from the UK xx
I am so happy that LP is going on! They accompany now through my life and it was so sad... But now i am happy for those left behind! And with Emily they can start a new Era without replace Chester!
Love how they didn’t know what was about to happen but thought they knew she just wasn’t quite it…she fills the role flawlessly. Absolutely brilliant choice.
Love the song and I’m very happy that they have returned because I missed them! I loved Chester but unfortunately he’s gone and life must go on so the band must go on! And welcome Emily because you have a great voice and so much energy! ❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻love u guys !
My first experience of Emily is the day all the new stuff dropped. I went and watched a Dead Sara video. I watched The Weatherman. It was amazing. She's a great fit for the LP sound. I hope she works out.
It was expected that comparisons get made and people react negatively. Chester was brilliant and his voice is one that cannot be replicated, but this band has the right to continue. The other members have talent and want to continue to make music. I don't think Emily is trying to emulate Chester but clearly when they sing the old songs she is going to have to try to make them sound as close to the old sound as possible but she will sound like herself. But she does a great job and I think unfairly, some people are just hateful to change. This song is a banger! GREAT JOB for finding someone that can continue to bring Linkin Park music to the people.
Most of the fans make fun of her I don't know why but in my opinion she did what she can and I really really appreciate her,Loved her, go go Emie you're doing a great job ❤❤❤
I highly suggest you guys go and watch the one hour interview on their TH-cam channel with Zane Lowe. It explains how this all came to be and gives you a fantastic insight on everything that’s happening with the band. I LOVE EMILY 100% I watched the live stream, I have watched her progress to the last 2 shows they did in California and New York and she’s getting much better singing the old songs and killing it. I cried when she came out to sing, because she resembles the rasp and tone that Chester had but it’s not a replica, she’s her own person just carrying forward the legacy of the amazing Chester Bennington. I can almost guarantee that Chester is happy and smiling and he would 100% dig her sound. I’m an OG LP Fanatic and I’m grateful they are back and I’m grateful for Emily and what she’s doing… so hell yeah 🤘🏻
this single video includes at least 10 LP music videos referencing Chester as a promise she will be part of something but she won't be Chester and I think it was amazing and uplifting for the band even if key members aren't part of the tour I hope they will come back and put together something unique.
From Zero is because they are starting over in a way, but it's also a reference to Linkin Park's original band name: Xero. They originally formed as Xero, then changed to Hybrid Theory and then to Linkin Park.
And what a lot of people don't realize (at least, the ones who are claiming the name should have died with Chester): the name had nothing to do with Chester. "Hybrid Theory" is the name they chose when Chester joined (he was the last member to join). The only reason they became Linkin Park is because their record label didn't want people to confuse them with another band named Hybrid. So not only did the name Linkin Park have nothing to do with Chester, it wasn't even the band's decision. (I mean, they collectively chose the new name, but they only changed it at all because of record label business marketing.)
@@KBRoller Chester was the one who suggested it, though, when they needed a new name. Or to be precise, he suggested the name Lincoln Park, and the others liked it, but they wanted to have a name they could afford to but the internet domain for, so they came up with the idea of misspelling it. Who exactly came up with the Linkin spelling is unknown as far as I recall, but it wouldn't have happened if not for Chester suggesting the name Linkin Park. With that, I'm not saying that it really matters who suggested the name. They all decided on it collectively, and if they hadn't, they might as well have chosen another name which would then be the name we all now know. Once it was chosen, it was the band's name, not something that belonged to Chester. If they had chosen a suggestion from Brad's teacher's neighbour's great grandma, they also wouldn't have had to change their name once the old lady died. But it's not technically true that the name has nothing to do with Chester. 😊
Well, Mike is really the founder and the main songwriter, producer and the second voice in the band, Chester actually was the last to join the band and he was the one to say LP is Mike’s band. This song sounds like LP because Mike produced the next album and did most of the producing in every other album, he’s playing and singing in it and I’d wager he was the one to ask Emily to come in, and as the guy who got Chester in there is nobody who would know what a new vocalist for the band should sound like. Anyway her name is Emily Armstrong and she’s not the only new member- they got a new drummer too, Colin Brittain, who’s also a producer and songwriter who worked with a bunch of bands on the level of Papa Roach, so also pretty qualified for the job (matter of fact I love his work on the drums here). If you wanna hear more of their work with LP, they live-streamed a mini-concert to present the new lineup and announce the new album 2 weeks ago, and today they’re gonna drop another song. So anyway, the band doesn’t fundamentally change because most of its historic members are still there, and Emily’s got range and the right spirit and attitude. If you wanna hear a proshot live version of this song, they played it on Jimmy Fallon. RIP Chester, he will never be replace and always be missed, but we should let the band move on and continue his legacy. And I’m so glad to see a new era of Linkin Park ❤
This is a new chapter, listening to her perform the old stuff, will give u apprehension, but she will do a great job.Chester inspired her to start singing and learning how to scream, and Linkin Park was one of , if not her favorite band. It's not a coincidence she was chosen.❤😊
I saw your videos while looking for first reactions to some Rammstein songs. When I saw that you were analyzing the last one from Linkin Park, I watched it. I really enjoy your videos. A hello from France :)
This actually isn't a "new sound" for Linkin Park at all. This song sounds a lot like it would fit on their 1,000 Sun's album. This song was also written by Mike Shinoda before Emily was even in the band. They had alreadybwritten the new album with Emily before Mike had her sing it. So, it might not be too indicative of the rest of the album.
Her name is Emily Armstrong, formwrly of Dead Sara. People are judging her on her perform. Dance on the live stream where they did LP classics, and people are always going to compare her version to the original which isn't fair. She'll never replace Chester, but she does honor him. It'll be better to judge her on the new album.
i dont rly think its a new sound ... this sounds like peak LP for me. (you paused it before she screams so just let her start xD) also rly funny how you talk about mike like hes new in teh start xD i mean he always was the sidesinger/rapper with chester he would ahve sung the start too xD

You guys should definitely check out he first livestream they did ..... THe live version is SO Much better, plus she kills some classic songs like "Lying from you" and many others
Let's not forget I said there was "a new line up". Not only is there a new singer, they have a new DRUMMER! Colin Brittian replaced Rob Bourbon after Rob decided not to return. As others have said, watch the Zane Lowe interview, it answers a lot of questions. I'll be honest, I was expecting a bigger reaction once you heard Emily...
Well... You know that person, you've reacted to Dead Sara's song a few years ago :) You've yet to react to Weatherman tho... Dead Sara as a lead solo is kinda wild

Honestly you were the first channel I thought of when I heard this song and saw their live performance announcing the comeback.
Y'all don't even remember doing a review on Emily and Dead Sara's song Face to Face 2 years ago? Check your own reviews guys!
But now i am happy for
those left behind! And with Emily they can start a new Era without replace Chester!
Emily is Dead Sara's Lead vocalist and song writer.
Im glad you mentioned the mash up album with LP and JayZ!! Its a classic. I love Emily and the new LP!!
Just heard this lyric: paraphrase "gave up who I am, for who you wanted me to be"..wow
Emily sang for Dead Sara. Powerful vox.
I'm stoked for them they sound great together!
I love Emily and it was a genius pick by LP
Most of the fans make fun of her I don't know why but in my opinion she did what she can and I really really appreciate her,Loved her, go go Emie you're doing a great job ❤❤❤
Hey guys Heard this on the radio love this She is amazing Suzi Travis you are the best Love ya
Thank you Just to say Your smile is keeping me alive Love you very much.
I highly suggest you guys go and watch the one hour interview on their TH-cam channel with Zane Lowe. It explains how this all came to be and gives you a fantastic insight on everything that’s happening with the band. I LOVE EMILY 100%
I watched the live stream, I have watched her progress to the last 2 shows they did in California and New York and she’s getting much better singing the old songs and killing it.
You have reacted to her a few time, lead singer from Dead Sara 🤘🤘
It's a fresh start, giving tribute to Chester's passing, but in a beautiful new way.
this single video includes at least 10 LP music videos referencing Chester as a promise she will be part of something but she won't be Chester and I think it was amazing and uplifting for the band even if key members aren't part of the tour I hope they will come back and put together something unique.
Linkin Park in Jimmy Fallon! Reaction, please!
🙏🏼🩷✨⚡🕶️
I fucking love this song and cannot wait for From Zero.
this is not chester's replacement. this is linkin' park's addition
honestly it's a new LP with a female vocal...for me so far so good...
From Zero is because they are starting over in a way, but it's also a reference to Linkin Park's original band name: Xero. They originally formed as Xero, then changed to Hybrid Theory and then to Linkin Park.
...and their first album was named Hybrid Theory because of that.
We have to Embrace this new era of LP ❤
Travis, Suzie meet Emily Armstrong of Dead Sarah.
SHE ROCKS !!! great reaction
heavy is the crown. you are welcome! 💯❤🔥
Look back at your reviews of Dead Sara...same Emily.
Love her!!!!
Your looking at Emily Armstrong who orignates from a band named dead Sara
I WAS WAITING FOR YALLS REACTION SO BAD
it goes from zero into my top 5 or top 3 from the start. i love the new sound and cant wait for the album
Emily is a Monster!
Remember digging Emily's voice reacting to Dead Sara " Sorry For It All " and " Face To Face" ?
I think it's the same sound /rhythm/tempo ect ..different BUT the same and I FOOOKING LOVE IT ,🤘🎸🥳
This actually isn't a "new sound" for Linkin Park at all. This song sounds a lot like it would fit on their 1,000 Sun's album. This song was also written by Mike Shinoda before Emily was even in the band. They had alreadybwritten the new album with Emily before Mike had her sing it. So, it might not be too indicative of the rest of the album.
Emily is AMAZING! ♥
Emily is great ❤❤
Her name is Emily Armstrong, formwrly of Dead Sara. People are judging her on her perform. Dance on the live stream where they did LP classics, and people are always going to compare her version to the original which isn't fair. She'll never replace Chester, but she does honor him. It'll be better to judge her on the new album.
I think people are more critical about the Scientology and Danny Masterson stuff..
5:12 Try not to do this dude…LP has always had 2 singers, don’t be a dweeb and ignore Mike’s singing in previous songs
I listen to a lot of bands with female singers and love it and I love Emily ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️
i dont rly think its a new sound ... this sounds like peak LP for me. (you paused it before she screams so just let her start xD)
also rly funny how you talk about mike like hes new in teh start xD i mean he always was the sidesinger/rapper with chester he would ahve sung the start too xD
I think Emily is a great fit. She sounds amazing. Chester would be happy to see LP continue on.
You need to watch the songs from the live set they did. Obviously no one will be Chester, but Emily really does a solid job with Linkin Park's classic songs.
Guys, you are already know her, because I saw that you reacted on band called Dead Sara. This is Emily Armstrong, Dead Sara's lead singer.
You guys should definitely check out he first livestream they did ..... THe live version is SO Much better, plus she kills some classic songs like "Lying from you" and many others
Emily of Dead Sara! ❤️
Bush - Flowers on a Grave, please! Your Reactions are the Best! 😘
People who gt to listen to this song after 2 weeks are surely not Linkin park fans.. 🤣🤣
They did say they avoid new music Southey can react to it honestly...
New drummer. Guitar player is only writing and recording. So new live guitar as well. Basically a new band
Are Shinoda and Han the only OGs at this point?
just another chapter in the book of Linkin Park🤘
Well... You know that person, you've reacted to Dead Sara's song a few years ago :)
You've yet to react to Weatherman tho...
Dead Sara as a lead solo is kinda wild
You articulated that very well.
This song is a grower…big time!
i love that
