Its because the smaller countries like Estonia and poland have smaller armies or older equipment (or a combination) and are very concerned about what russia is doing. so to make sure they dont get overrun they called in NATO for some small support. The United states is in first then other countries will also be joining in. the united states is not on full deployment we are merely there to show support and the military is also doing training with the local armies to get them up to speed.

They were being polite and answering questions, Kids are the same everywhere and the only Americans they probably ever saw or met were in movies. it was an opportunity to meet the real deal.
