It is fascinating to consider the possibility that we could communicate and, more so, COMPREHEND, at the rate Elon is conveying. I wonder how that becomes possible? Also....If we are basically by-passing natural functions of the brain and doing that same function with this Neuralink implant, what will the effects to a natural and healthy brain be? There almost zero chance of that answer being "nothing"....and with that said, what are the effects to the entire brain if healthy and normal but a Neuralink is used to assist/boost certain specific cognitive functions? What are the hormonal/emotional effects? Does it become impossible for a person to remove the Neurolink and function as normal ever again? Because that wouldnt surprise me.

There will be many negative effects; of course if the brain gets used to that chip it will quickly lose the ability to function without it... Whenever a human gets used to not using a particular part of the brain (not doing certain things), that part of the brain downgrades fast... Even the personal computers of the mid 2000s, when they became widely available, made people awkward in real life and made meaningful communication difficult, especially the younger people as they spent too much time on these machines as opposed to doing other things. Since the mid 2000s things only got worse. You know the story.

8:41 Artificial intelligence (AI) can only experience boredom if it possesses the capacity for longing-a trait rooted in biology. Boredom, as an emotion, arises from this sense of yearning. Since biology involves the capacity for longing, the integration of AI with biological components, such as through advancements like Neuralink, could theoretically lead to AI experiencing boredom in the future.

Here’s my main issue with merging the human mind with AI… We don’t even know what our minds are capable of and we are bypassing the discovery what the human mind is really capable of and jumping into the deep end with merging it with synthetic, non-organic matter. I think it’s vital that we commit research to the discovery of the human potential without the integration with AI. I think as a whole this is an incredibly important discussion for us to have. So far humanity has only known survival. According the Maslow's hierarchy of needs, we know that we can’t even discover ourselves unless are basic needs are met first. And most of humanity is still stuck in that bottom part of the pyramid. We have no idea what we are truly capable of!!!! And now with the merging with Ai we might never find out!!!!!! We cannot bypass the discovery of our own true potential. This is VITAL!!!!!

From an evolutionary perspective, the pursuit of integrating AI with biology might seem like progress, but it could ultimately lead to a degradation into a new form of life-a species reminiscent of insects. Insects, after all, existed long before the dinosaurs and are known for their simplicity, efficiency, and ability to thrive in diverse environments. If we consider this path, it’s possible that humanity, or a human-AI hybrid, could evolve into something more insect-like, designed to populate places like Mars. Over time, these insect-like beings could undergo a re-evolution, eventually returning to a form that resembles the original human condition.
Rupert Sheldrake’s work on morphic resonance, which suggests that natural systems inherit a collective memory, hints at this cyclical nature of evolution. If his theories hold true, the future might involve a kind of evolutionary loop, where humanity, after devolving into a simpler, insect-like state, gradually re-evolves into its original human form. This cycle could be the next chapter in our species' journey.

Such a weird thing, could potentially change the world for the better… but I see probably it dividing people and being used as a way to control, it would make normal people seem like less human to those with it.

@@MrNote-lz7lhyou can know what your dog's emotions are at any given time... Great for tying into a security system... Dog is upset or angry, etc... you can check out what is happening on camera (mail man came... Or you just had an attempted break in)...

Is this safe if the brain communicates that much faster? Could the brain overwhelm itself? Maybe we should gradually increase the bits per second or whatever and see how it goes in humans once it becomes a thing and find its threshold

Lex, can't you talk to him on the political thing? He must know the Tesla buyer's market type. This publicity could really hurt him and hurt the world with all the things he's working on. He's plenty smart enough to know that the gov't machine can't be bent, moved, shifted, changed, etc. If it could, it would've happened somewhere else. It's not whether he's right or wrong - that's totally irrelevant. Personally, I've seen way too many friends get sucked down the politics hole. Make him stop watching any news except what he gets from your channel.
