I still cant get over the fact that these lads are done for good. I remember first seeing top gear when i was a kid. I was 14 and me and my mum were scrolling through tv channels. We went past an episode of top gear. I said "Wait! Go back! What was that?". We went back and sat through the episode, (it was the polar special) and since that day, I fell in love with the show and the lads.
My mum and I would end up watching every. single. bloody. episode together, and we even went to see them live in Sydney back in 2009. Im 31 years old now, and the day this last episode came out, my mum and I watched it together and couldnt stop crying.

I was 12 year old dork who was just about to start high school when I first watched the Botswana Special. I was already interested in cars but after watching that special, cars became my entire world. Since then I’ve had many wonderful experiences working in the automotive world, including five-year stint as a NASCAR crewman.
Watching these guys return to where it all started made me realize that everything I’ve done in my career was due to the little spark that Jeremy, James and Richard lit inside that 12 year-old me.

This was the best ending possible. I’m not going to shy away from the fact that I cried my eyes out on this one. It was not just the end of a very good show, but it also marked almost 20 years of my life that went incredibly fast before my eyes. I remembered seating on the family couch with my parents watching the trio, then trying in my early teenage years to live these amazing aventures with my two cousins on our bicycles. All three have made an incredible impact on my life and I think that, appart from getting sad that this show ended, I also mourned the first third of my life.

Once I saw TOP GEAR for the very first time, I instantly became addicted to it until it was temporarily cancelled, but I never stopped watching. Then came THE GRAND TOUR, and I felt that my old friends were coming back to show us what they were really made of once more. What I admire the most about those guys is the loyalty they had for each other in their love/hate relationship. Even in their worse situations they chose to stick together as a single unit. What these 3 friends were able to accomplish on screen over the years is amazing and astonishing to me. Through TG, TGT and those "3 friends" I have been able to see and magically go to places I can only dream of. They have taken on adventures that have made motoring history over the years and I feel I have been right there with them. Sure, the new shows may continue with other good presenters as life itself continues, but CLARKSON, HAMMOND and MAY have set "THE STANDARD" to be measured by. Although I knew this moment would arrive sooner or later I am very sad the end of an era is really here. THANK YOU, for putting many smiles on my face and making my life happier every time I watch the shows. THANK YOU, TO ALL THE STAFF involved in filming, editing, logistics, producing and whatever else was nescesary to accomplish every episode. YOU ARE ALL ROCK STARS behind the scenes. Finally got around to watching this episode yesterday on a roadtrip with my younger brother. We started watching this in 2006, i was just starting high school and my brother was in middle school. We would always watch every episode together, and if one of us missed an episode we would re-watch it with each other to get caught up. To see the years go by and know this era came to an end was so heart breaking. My brother and I watched it in the car on our drive from LA to San Francisco and we just rode in silence for a long time. This was one of the only shows that bonded us together with a strong bond like the guys in the show had. Thanks guys.

I burst out in tears as soon as they cut to the flash back. And then I was hesterically laughing by the time he ripped the mike off.
Thank you for everything. I would not be in the car business if it wasn’t for top gear, I wouldn’t have owned 2 Alfa Romeo’s in a row without this show. I wouldn’t have the friends I have without this show. I owe so much to Clarkson, Hammond and May.

I don’t think you can put into words the impact that these 3 have had on so many over these 22 years. My son is 19. And he said to me last night “how will you feel dad?”
    Thank you.

I've never been emotional about a show ending until now.. For 22 years this trio has entertained me on a topic I have so much passion for.

From 14 to 36…. These gents took me through adolescence, my formative years, early adult hood and now into my grown up 30s
I thank you and salute (as I’m sure most of the nation does)
