    FYI, the cable adjuster bracket thing is backwards, the cable should socket into the knurled side.

      That makes way more sense, like I said I’m pretty dumb haha. Their instructions aren’t very clear. I’ll have to see if I can flip it without needing to get another cable. Thank you for the info, I’ll try and pin your comment to the top so others can get the info. Appreciate you watching! 🍻👍🏼

    I've owned my 95 YJ for about 15 years now, and that hand throttle was the best $30 ever spent. I rarely use 2wd, and that throttle in 4low on a hill is magic.

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It made such a difference on hills, I’m so happy I decided to add it in. Thank you for watching!

    Good thing about the hand throttle is that it doubles as cruise control if you daily on the highway lol

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha for sure, it worked great as a cruise on the green trails as well. Best upgrade so far since I’ve owned it.

    Hand throttles are an absolute must with manuals off-road! What a huge difference they make. Glad you got to enjoy some wheeling before the end of the season 😎

      After using it, I can’t believe it wasn’t the fist thing I did haha. Agree 100%. It was a blast being back out on the trails and very much enjoyable. Can’t wait to get out with you this coming season buddy. Hope all is well with you and family 🍻

      Not to bad at all! Definitely have some work but can’t wait to get it ready for next wheeling season. I’m hoping to film more once I really get back in the garage. Thanks for watching!!

    Great video. That little piece that you put on the cable by the throttle body is called a Sledge.

      Thank you hahah! I like having the correct terminology when talking but my brain doesn’t always work. Appreciate you sharing the knowledge! Thanks for watching buddy 🤘🏼

      It definitely was, we’ll get together this coming season and get out on the trails. I’m pumped to have a working rig while I can still build the crawler.

    If you need a hand throttle, it means you’re not geared low enough.

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely agree, I’m working on trying to get a 4:1 transfer case at the moment. I feel hand throttles still have their place even with correct gearing, but over all I dig it

    Nice install - would you recommend a minimum tire size for my 89 Wrangler build to even attempt trails like these?

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! If I was to recommend a minimum, I’d probably say 37” to help give the extra clearance on the diffs but I’ve seen guys make trails like that on 35” tires. It manly has to do with the supporting mods like beefed up axles/shafts, lockers, tire type, beadlocks, etc. luckily a lot of trials like this have bypass’s so you can attempt them and if they become to hard you can get off and go around. I hope that info helped, thank you for watching!!

    Is that an internal or external slave cylinder? Ax15?

    Hey man, do you know what springs this jeep has in the rear? And do you have an anti wrap bar? I did that rear kit with stock replacement xj springs and it wraps something terrible, and heard a ton of mixed reviews on the wrap bars... thanks!

    • @altered_life
      @altered_life  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This Jeep has 3.5” rubicon express leafs with no anti wrap bar. Mine is set up spring under so that helps a bit but I have limited time on it to know if it wraps bad. I was planning on doing an anti wrap bar on my other build. I think they work well if set up properly, it just takes a little time to dial them in. I hope that Info helped.

    • @bwhartman1
      @bwhartman1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the info, think i need more like a 6 inch spring to match the font end as it sits now. Interested to hear if you still need a wrap bar

      Of course! I’ll try and keep updated videos in the future on weather I need to go that route or not. Good luck with yours!
