He had a energetic driving style. Very much involved with what the car is doing. He would enter the corner with much more speed than others but because of it compromise his mid corner speed. He would put a car in a position to almost fight him but he would tame it hence why so many corrections. And the last thing and that was noticable is he would sacrifice mid corner speed but would enter the corner steering with the back of the car. Because he went slower mid corner he would make sure the car is positioned so he can power out of the corner as fast as possible basically rotate it with body roll. High speed entry, earlier corner exit but slower middle corner.

And in this case someone actually did die because of him cheating. Senna said this before his death no one listened later schumi got busted...... but the punishment was a joke. He should have been banned for life from f1.

@@dawnandrews8969the short answer is kind of. It had paddle shift for going up through the gears, but for going down the gearbox to a slow corner, like Tosa, he'd press a button and the gearbox would automatically downshift to the predetermined gear. As for the clutch, Benetton (as far as I know) were still using a foot operated clutch pedal, it was McLaren that same year that pioneered the hand clutch

Just look at 0:22 mid corner how many corrections he makes to keep the car at the straight line. He made difficult cars look easy to drive. And about the traction control stuff... Senna knew he was being beaten and cried about it. There are even videos of Michael drifting the b194 especially at Hungary.

A reply @spieler440 made to another post, “It’s a button that automatically goes to a pre determined gear. It was a loophole that most teams exploited in 94.”
Yes, so when the driver presses the green button, the car automatically downshifts to 2nd gear, so from 6th to 2nd as seen braking into Tosa, 5th to 2nd at Variante Alta, and 6th to 2nd at Rivazza. Interestingly for Acque Minerali, Michael presses the button, brakes, the car downshifts from 5th to 2nd, Michael then manually downshifts with his left hand to 1st, for the second part of the chicane.

O Benetton no vídeo usava caixa semi automática.

He mellowed down a bit as he got older altho agressivness never fully went away. But for me Michaels Benetton era is his best era. Michaels attitude and the way the car looked and drove was perfect. It all gelled together. Shame it was so short but because it was short it makes it so sweet.

Senna had a one-stop strategy, so his single-seater was heavier since he carried more fuel (65% petrol for example), so he is a little slower at the start of the race, in passing he signed the 3rd fastest time in the race with a full tank and cold tyres.
Schumacher had a two-stop strategy, including the first stint from lap 1 to lap 15 where he took little fuel (e.g. 20% petrol), in order to stay huddled behind Ayrton Senna's Williams Renault, and take advantage of suction.
The proof, when the safety car withdrew, only Senna widened the gap with Schumacher who was behind to have Senna's aspiration.

@@speedmann194 In my opinion if Senna had not had his accident, he would have won at imola (he had already won it 3 times), but he would not have won the 1994 championship, because of Schumacher's 20 point lead at the start of the season.
Schumacher's Benetton was very efficient in small circuits with a lot of turns (monaco, spain, hungary, Jerez, Suzuka, adelaide...)
the only weak point of the Benetton was its top speed as for the motor circuits (Hockenheim, monza)
and again, the Benetton was doing very well on normal circuits like (Spain, Belgium, Silverstone...)
the season would have been tight, but Schumacher would have narrowly won the title in Adelaide.
And Schumacher might have been abandoned at imola, because he did the same strategy at Hockenheim, remaining in the aspiration of Gerhard Berger's Ferrari, and his ford engine broke.
the Benetton B194 is for me at the same level of domination as the Ferrari of 2002, If Schumacher had not been sanctioned from the Grands Prix where he is excluded and disqualified, he would have already broken this record of victories in one season, held by Nigel Mansell in 1992.
In 1994, Schumacher had only two retirements (Hockenheim for engine failure, and Adelaide for the famous clash with Damon Hill)

    • @speedmann194
      @speedmann194 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@weskersama4022 i don't think so.
the fact Damon got so close, I think means senna would've won the championship.
But only due to Schumachers disqualifications, I think senna would've had conflicting emotions winning the championship in those circumstances. But I also have a sneaky suspicion that Bernie Ecclestone disqualified Schumacher to make the championship more interesting. Due to the absence of senna for the rest of the season. I think we should also remember that bennenton b194 was only good in Michael's hands. No one else could drive them
Herbert, JJ Leto, Verstappen only managed a measly 56 points both season's put together
Also 96-97 bennenton was still equipped with Renault v10s
but alasi - Berger also struggled to drive them. Ross brawn said they were essentially the same car. and believed Michael would've won 95-96 driving them. I know there has been debate over drivers aids Michael had in his car, but I think the fact that he went to Ferrari and instantly beat bennenton and was battling with Williams is very good evidence for Schumacher himself being the special software. I always say to people when they say bennenton was cheating. I say look at the facts , success followed Michael. In other words did Ferrari have illegal drivers aids as well ? And than people say he Took bennenton staff with him. And that's not true either, because bennenton staff didn't arrive until 97 by that time Michael had already defeated bennenton. He was extremely good at adapting to a cars flaws.

I don't know why they subsequently got rid of the chicanes at the end of the lap, or the one before Acque Minerali. It was better like this.
