Thank so much for your kind words! 1) Typically, you get touch ups every 6 months. You might get sued if you market your styling process as a GinaCurl, unless it's something SHE specifically trained you to do. Gina's youtube channel has plenty of information on the learning process. She's offering courses to teach
There are some judgmental comments in here. I am natural and struggle with my hair. I’ve tried so many hair stylists and they jack it up. I start over and still struggle. I’ve tried so many products, watched so many videos and no success. So, it’s just weird to judge people’s decisions when you don’t know the lengths they’ve gone through to rock their natural. #stillstruggling
It looks great! I am subscribing please keep making updated videos about this. I am interested in this! Do you by chance know if you can straighten your hair at all with this?
Hi Vaehina! Thanks for subscribing ❤️. Unfortunately you can not straighten your hair, at least not with heat. You can stretch it by doing a braid out or in other physical ways but direct heat (other than diffusing with a blow dryer) will permanently damage the curls.

Love the video!! It looks beautiful on you as you are personally. I will be getting mine in one week!!
What a kind thing to say. Thank you, Eunice! I’m super excited for you! Since you’re getting one, definitely make sure to check out the update video I’m uploading on Friday so you can see how the curls evolve over time.
@@amandaday I most definitely will thank you so much for the uploads!
@@eunicebrathwaite6951 happy that they’re helping :)
The new “perm”, 🥺.
I got my Gina Curl two months ago. But I’m dealing with severe dryness. Please keep us updated on your progress. I bought the products they recommended but my hair is usually bone dry by the end of the day.😩
Will definitely update you guys on my progress. I do sometimes have that dry feeling too but it hasn’t translated to any breakage or damage! How about you?
@@amandaday No breakage yet for me either! Thank god. Its just weird compared to how my old hair retained moisture for days.
@@amandaday I appreciate both of you being so honest. My natural hair is dry at baseline, so that's kind of scary for me. Maybe try ambuno. I just tried its yesterday and was floored. This TH-cam has some helpful videos about it: th-cam.com/video/S7gOfo_w8sc/w-d-xo.html
@@malyikaj Have your curls straightened/elongated over time?
@@eimmioh i’ve only had it for three months now. So. so far they have not straightened. But I would recommend if you want tight curls make sure to get the smallest perm rods. I accidentally got bigger ones than I wanted.
Soooo I wasn't thinking about a GinaCurl before, but I definitely am now! This looks amazing on you! Can't wait to keep up with your progress. And Claudette below is right that you were made for TH-cam! I'm so thrilled at this venture of yours. Shoutout to you for moving towards things that deeply suit you [wink]. Love you!!!
ALSOOOO YESSSS GREEN NAILS!!!!!
Thanks girl! I’m not exactly unbiased here but if you’re thinking about the GinaCurl, just do it lol. Literally no regrets. I will definitely do a progress video soon!
Go get one will change your hair life
@@amandaday wait to do progress videos...anyone who gets one and has a channel does vids in the beginning when the hair is simple to deal with...it is the latter months where it’s a challenger deal with new growth and Gina curl hair. Just a suggestion
@@Napsagain09 hey there! Thanks for the suggestion. I plan on doing a 3 month and 6 month video so everyone can see what the GinaCurl is like as that new growth comes in!
@@amandaday Don't intend to get too personal, but when you say you are not exactly unbiased, does that mean you are you getting some type of sponsorship from GC? Just wondering bc it seems that only a few ppl who get the GC's go on to continue to post videos and pics on social media. The fall off of posters makes me wonder about most ppl's long term results.
From jeri curl to Gina curl...OK ..Interesting
omg i love this videooo i love your vibe
Jheri Curl/ Relaxer. I’m 70 and nothing’s new, just a different name.
Yes! Every trend goes away and comes back in some way or the other and people go crazy like it's such a miracle to exist.
Sounds and looks like a Wave Nouveau to me. Same process, new name.
Yep it's Wave Nouveau
Thanks, Amanda, for sharing! Your hair looks amazing. I wanna get mine done now. Lol
Go for it!
Girl I could not stop smiling and laughing for the first minute of the video that grin 😀 I love how corky you are you.. are so beautiful and I love your hair I can not wait until I get mine 😍😍😍
So sweet of you. Thanks!! Once you get yours, you won’t be sorry.
@@amandaday I so believe you ❤💖 Thanks love ❤
It looks really good. I am seriously thinking about doing this. There is a stylist in VA who is Ginacurl certified. Please keep updating us.
Thank you!! Super exciting that others are getting trained. And I def will :)
I have experience in All types of cold waves... Care free, Wave Nouveau... The Gina curl is no difference in the process process. I'm in Hampton Va
@@amandaday what type of trainings you need if you are a professional license stylist who know the procedure of all cold waves????
Beautiful hair and humor! 😊
So beautiful!! 😍 It suits you so well!
Thanks Amanda!!!
This is a juri curl!! That BLACKS CREATED!
This very helpful! Can you please keep the videos coming regularly? I’m kinda sort of considering getting one but am concerned about how the curls straighten over time.
So glad to hear! You are very much in luck! Lol later this week I’ll be releasing an update video to show you just that! Thanks for watching :)
The hair does not straighten over time. My Gina curl ends curl right up as soon as it gets wet and I haven’t had a retouch in over a year...my roots crazy new growth but my ends are definitely curly.
Also update has to be done during like month 6-7 the hair is pretty much the same for 7 months by retouch time it gets a little less manageable but still easier than if your hair was fully natural
@@Napsagain09 interesting. I have actually found that my curls have changed quite a bit in 3 months. Perhaps because I’ve worn them up and pulled back so often. Gina did tell me that would stretch the curl faster, but I’ve had no choice
@@Napsagain09 I've watched a ton of gc videos and seen a ton pics and most ppl's curls seem to significantly elongate over the course of their gc. Napsagain09, can you post a video of yours?
Your hair looks amazing! Just a few questions, 1) How often do you need to repeat this? 2)What is the difference between this and a curly perm? 3)Is this something that can be done with dyed hair? Thank you for taking us along with you on this amazing journey!
Thank so much for your kind words! 1) Typically, you get touch ups every 6 months. I think some people push it down to 5 though if they’re fiending lol 2) My understanding is that with a GinaCurl, during your touch ups they only process the new growth whereas with a curly perm, the already permed ends get chemical added to them over and over. 3) yes I have seen some do it with dyed hair! But based on what I’ve seen, results with that could be variable.
Damn sis fell for the okie dokie!
Big time. It's sad actually. That Gina woman targets naive younger girls.
@@trawlins396 riggggghhht!!!! I’ve been watching this process for years with her... I’m sick of it! My black women man just the side affects alone 😒 and she charges 850 and up 😳
@@mamagalbrown3912 it doesn't make ANY sense to me. In terms of chemicals this is actually WORSE than a relaxer.
Always sanitize after touching door handles if your a germ a phobe.
Not throwing shade. It's just alot of people forget about door handles n then touch their phones.
Hi Bonnie! It’s great advice. Don’t worry though... My door handle hand didn’t touch my phone lol and as soon as I got up the stairs I went to the bathroom and washed my hands. Haha I do this every day all day, girl. :)
@@amandaday I bout that key for the door handles so i don't have to touch them. All the virus needs is a second to enter your body and I don't want to take any chances of allowing it to even sit on my hands.
I live in CT. 😁 And your voice is so soothing.
Your hair is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!!! I'm in love with it still.
You are soooo pretty and your hair is SO cute!! LOVE this for youuuu!
Thank you so much Tiffany!
“Before you cry Jheri curl…” 🤣
Gina curl aka jerry curl love the results
I ❤️❤️❤️it, but which is Better and Cheaper. Gina Curl, Jheri/S curl or Wave Nouveau, which can I do myself and how often you have to redo these Curls
Old school days you didn’t wash your hair but maybe biweekly… mew school girls are washing daily, 3x a week, etc etc. is this what the stylist recommends to? Or is that just a habit left from natural hair care ? Seems like you’d over dry out curl or strip it if washed too much? Just curious about regimen
This is the 2nd video i watched for GinaCurl and i didnt know she was in CT. That makes me sad lol. LA is far but this is something I want for this year.
Your hair looks great!!!
Hey there! Thanks so much. Yeh she’s in CT but great news is that they’re actually training stylists around the country. If you go to their website they have a list of ppl who they’ve trained so far. So maybe they have someone in CA?
@@amandaday cool. Thank you. I will check it out
I'm interested in getting the curl as well
This is funny and cute! Wave Nouveau is back with a new name! Wave Nouveau is different from the Jerri Curl as well!
Looks great on you. Got that soul glow! Well now the stylist can make money again. I will be back in the salon now and I will call it the Gina curl!
You might get sued if you market your styling process as a GinaCurl, unless it's something SHE specifically trained you to do. Gina's youtube channel has plenty of information on the learning process.
She's offering courses to teach
😂😂😂
I love it!!!
Thank you
It's definitely a Jerry curl but I love it I'm glad they brought it back cuz now I can get my hair manageable again
@Ruthie Bella I know the Jcurl and the wave nouveau both have that same chemical in it neither one is harsh on your hair .
This is legit nothing but a less juicy Jheri curl! But its cute.
So basically this is a Jerry Curl that BLACK people rocked in the 80's? This is nothing new but it's cute.
I guess I'm the only one in the world who doesn't like this look. It looks like an over priced, time consuming dry gherri curl.
Same
She basically got a texlax. Her hair was beautiful before but hey to each their own
How often do you have to do it?
Or how often should you get it down?
It’s no different from a wave nouveau which was less wet than carefree. Find you a good old school stylist and save yourself tons of cash, her hair looks nice but you can get similar cheaper.
❤️ Just wash and go.
Soooo I have concerns about new growth and long term maintenance. It definitely looks cute, and seems to be very similar if not the same as a caucasian perm.
Check out my 3 month update GinaCurl video to see how the new growth is treating me. It’s actually not bad at all :).. what questions do you have about long term maintenance? Maybe I can answer them in a future video!
@@amandaday I'll check that out. Mainly just upkeep. When I was relaxed I would go 10-12 weeks before a touch up. Is the schedule similar? Is there a noticeable line of demarcation?
Beautiful hair!✨
Thank you so much! Checked out your channel and subscribed :)
@@amandaday thank you!!😊
It looks really good💖
Hi Amanda, if you read this I'm wondering if you have the Gina curl that can also be blow- dried, I love that one.
They say no direct heat! It can be diffused to dry the curls, but it shouldn't be straightened with heat :/
I am concerned that your hair will start breaking off, because you can't use protein on your hair with the Gina curl?
Protein is drying and this is a harsh chemical process which includes several hours under a hot dryer, so protein will cause more breakage...
Amanda where are you? How’s the hair? Update us please!
Hi. Did you experience a bad smell after the process and if so how long did it take for the smell to fade?
Sorry for the late reply! It has a smell that last for maybe a week but it’s not a bad chemically smell at all to me. It smells like a conditioner. I actually really like it lol
So for new growth do you find it hard to maintain the style, like are your roots your natural texture?
