That whole album is a banger! Anything off that album and you's are gonna love it, isn't a bad song on there...and love seeing the interaction between you's two, massively adorable! :)
SO glad I saw Green Day at Lollapalooza in 1994 when this album (Dookie) came out! I had tickets/plans to see them again in 2009-with Franz Ferdinand opening-but plans fell through.☹️) Anyway... They were so awesome! Also lucky enough to see Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, Smashing Pumpkins, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, The Breeders, etc.
You should do the whole song with subtitles. You missed some of the best lyrics. Fun/morbid fact, the term basket case comes from world war 1. It meant a soldier who lost their arms and legs and had to be carried in a basket. Now it means someone who's a mess mentally and can't get their sh-t together. It doesn't mean insane like some other commenters are saying.
Greenway was my favorite band back in the day!!! I met them once they were cool!! Please do more GreenDay!!! They have many good songs to choose from... Check out Welcome to Paradise, Jesus of Suburbia, and Wake Me Up When September Ends
Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova! Diana’s a contralto gifted with naturally occurring polyphonic overtones. Diana's voice is like a rainbow of colors now and there's a pot of gold that's the gift at the end of the rainbow, and the rainbows being the various tones that and qualities that she has to offer through the song. Diana's polyphonic overtone sounding is indescribable happiness, delight and goosebumps. To perform all this with a contralto chest register, combining with a mixed and head register, ending each phrase with his own unforgettable yodeling technique, no one is able to perform songs, as Diana does.
the term basket case apparently goes back to WWI referring to someone who lost their arms and legs, literally having to be carried off in a basket of sorts, but it evolved to mean someone with mental issues, usually some kind of neurosis. anxiety, depression, maybe ocd issues, etc. neurosis traditionally means you are aware you have some kind of problem (compared to psychosis which traditionally means you don't realize something is wrong with you)
This song along with Black Hole Sun and Smells Like Teen Spirit are the songs that turned me into a rock fan. I still remembered watching this video on MTV in Panama (to be exact, it was a countdown show that was aired in one of the local stations at 6pm every Saturday evening until I finally got cable later on that year) and instantly being hooked into this genre. 9 years old, and it change my musical perspective forever.
I love these songs taking right back to when I was 9-10 yrs old. I remember this video was on every time I turned on the TV (Music television actually used to play music it was weird) but I never got tired of this one
Green Day is SO good. Check out 21 guns, Longview, Good Riddance (Time of your life), and basically the entire American Idiot album (it's written as a rock opera so everything flows into the next).
I'd love to see/hear your thoughts on what many consider "the most hated band in America"..."Nickleback". Personally, I think they're a great band. Phenomenal musicians, and the lead singer has a amazing voice. Yet, people still hate them. I don't get it. Would be interesting to see what ya'll think. Song suggestions: "Never Again" "Someday" "Savin Me" "This is how you remind me". 🤘😎

My dad had this album when I was a kid. Eventually saw them live on their American Idiot tour. Shows my age lol. Dookie is such a great album though! You guys jamming always gets me smiling so thanks for that. :)
The name Green Day comes from slang from their area of California for a day where there's a lot of weed around. Surprised you're not familiar with them. I know you guys are young, but they had another wave of popularity from the mid 00's to the 2010's. They were played on top 40 radio. You would have at least been kids.
Lyrics..... “sometimes I give myself the creeps. Sometimes my mind plays tricks me.... it all keeps adding up. I think I’m cracking up. Am I just paranoid? Or am I stoned? “ .....
I'm a mechanic a 'basket case' is when they bring you the car literally in baskets because somebody took it apart and my job is to put it together again. So a 'basket case ' is when you have to put together what somebody else took apart. And no the parts are never all there you have to scramble to find bolts and small parts that if you miss, will not allow the machine to function correctly. A basket case is the worst kind of case because there are always a few baskets missing.
This was my introduction to Green Day and I thought this song was bad ass and fresh. I regret not going to go see them when they toured on their first album because that was the only album I bought and enjoyed.
According to Wikipedia: Green Day vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong said "Basket Case" is about his struggle with anxiety; before he was diagnosed with a panic disorder years afterward, he thought he was going crazy. Armstrong commented that at the time, "The only way I could know what the hell was going on was to write a song about it."
Another fun song you should hear is Napolean XIV - They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa! and the song that follows that is Josephine XV - "Im happy they took you away, Ha-Haa!"
Sometimes I give myself the creeps Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me It all keeps adding up I think I'm cracking up Am I just paranoid Or am I just stoned? 🤟
This is my 2nd favorite band of all time behind only Jethro Tull. My favorite song of theirs is Holiday. Try it live off the American Idiot album. They did broadway show for American Idiot and lead singer was in the play the first year. I saw the travel company do it in Raleigh NC. Still amazing!

@@miketheheartbreakkidvitale1783 Yeah, I mean it just happens everywhere and I don't think it's really the result of viewer's suggestions because usually people are suggesting songs by the same band (ie. more Green Day songs on this video) or within the same genre (ie. Blink 182 or whatever). And I actually mentioned it months ago on another reactor's channel. It's no big deal because each reaction is at least slightly different. @@miketheheartbreakkidvitale1783 Yeah I mentioned probably last year on another reactor's channel. It doesn't seem likely that they all get the exact same request from viewers because viewers usually recommend stuff in from the same band as the current video (ie. Cool song from a brilliant debut album.
GREEN DAY "LONGVIEW"...NUFF SAID.
Basketcase = Crazy Person
More Green Day please! , Green Day - Longview
Basket case is slang for someone who is totally insane.
Yes, of course. And the premise of the video is obviously a take on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest."
its not a nile moses story
Green Day had some great music! This was a good reaction guys...btw, I think they were supposed to be in a mental hospital in the video.
Had?
Their music is timeless, there are just some artist that will last for ever
They are 1 one of them
Man, she is remarkably intuitive, you better keep her happy...love you two...

I'd suggest the following Green Day songs: Longview, When I Come Around, Hitchin' A Ride & Geek Stink Breath
I absolutely love Green Day. They named themselves after a day where they smoke weed all day long. Great reaction; can't wait to see more!
The term "Basketcase" is making reference to a person who has severely traumatic or depressive issues that could be brought by pretty much anything
It amazes me people have collectively forgotten this slang.
