Pushes away the loyal wife, takes on a concubine he can’t stand just so he can control his wife better. Paranoid about everyone stabbing him in his back, paranoid she’s never loved him and still wants to be with Lu Biuwei. The list is endless but it’s all because of the throne. They should’ve eloped and been a plain commoner family in a rural place and lived a simpler and happier life.
