In this video, part of our Modular Desing series, we'll build up a minimal PICAXE development setup including required hardware and software and use it to both flash and LED and to test out our new 7-segment MAX7219 LED display module.

Tape or something would be better than pen for address obfuscation.
A lot of it is still readable even under the pen.
Your town looks lovely though.
It used to be 40 years a go when we first arrived. Not so much any more. I actually live about 24km as the car drives out of town in the woods. Much nicer there. I don't mind so much if people know what town I live near, but a lot of folks get upset. I'm guessing most don't care one way or another. Not sure if there are official regulations regarding it. I'll try better in the future . Thanks for posting!
let's take a look at the mailbag.... But truthfully,... I'm patient in the sense that we will get to both of these items eventually 🙂
Good philosophy.
The Siglent sounds interesting, but it sounds like clearing out the mail might be a better way to go. This PICAXE project sounds interesting. Seeing things outside the Arduino/Raspberry Pi Pico world is always good. I have a couple of the 8 pin PICAXE chips, cable and a starter kit, I guess I have a reason to dust off my Windows machine because it does not look like they have any options for Linux. Thanks, take care.
I agree! They do have Linux options. Google "PICAXE AXEpad". I will put a link to it in the description.
I would LOVE to see the Siglent AFTER the huge box.
I'll do the mail first (it's just getting insane), then a quick un boxing of the Siglent. Then I'll do a comparison between it and teh SDS1204X-E that it will replace.
The mini breadboard with sockets on the edge might work better with the audio type jack.
I have seen that jack used for audio before, but I know what you mean. Not sure why PICAXE chose this jack. My first effort (and I can't find it now) was an in-line stereo jack. I just housed the resistors in the barrel and had 3 wires coming with DuPont pins on them.
is the code available
I put a link to the code in the description.
That is a nice little board you developed. Far above my head, I have yet to even think about programming.
For times sake on your end, I would do the mailbag 1st LOL. Unless you just want to have a 2 hour video. 🤣
But either is fine on my end, You may get some cool doodad that I just gotta have LOL
Yeah, I think you're right about the mailbag.
Mailbag first plz
That seems to be the sentiment.
Awesome start ! what language was that please BASIC ? very easy to make hardware and it makes a change from the usual stuff....cheers!!
YEs, its a form of structured basic and no line numbers are needed. You use labels like in other languages. It's very easy to use.
