I saw this video for the first time in September 2015 while I was trying to decide what to do with my life. I'd discovered the University of Tromsø while looking for university programs - it caught my attention as being the world's most northerly university. As someone who has always been fascinated by the arctic, I decided to check TH-cam to see what this place was all about.
It became a sort of dream of mine to be able to live in Arctic Norway while studying for my master's degree, but I didn't have the grades, finances, or life skills. I thought it was too ambitious a goal to ever get accepted for studying here, so I didn't set that as my metric for success - but I took inspiration from this video to conduct my life in such a way that I could grow toward being the sort of person who could study internationally. Perhaps I would never live in Tromsø, but maybe I could put myself into a situation where I could fulfill the next life-goal that came along. As such, I had a very productive four years of working and studying online, and generally pursuing self-growth.
I finally had the opportunity to visit the city in September 2018. Tromsø is beautiful. I decided to try applying to UiT in November 2018, and received my acceptance letter in March 2019. I moved in August, and now I've been living in Tromsø for 8 months.
    Pursue your dreams.
Thank you for uploading this video.

Awesome that you have Trekked the North Pole, one step further then I have been, I also been to Longyearbyen, thought that was amazing experience, can only imagine the North Pole would be unforgettable. In all the places I have visited Tromso is definitely a huge standout and I have the some of the greatest memories from the place, so worth a visit. The music is from the movie 'Oblivion' - the singer is Susanne Sundfør, she is a Norwegian singer, so it thought it matched the vision and experience I had at Tromso.

    • @unknownviking7432

Well that was someone's opinion , I had a great time up there, depends on your out look and what you want to see and do, the dog sledding was one of the best things I have done, if you are going up there I truly recommend booking with a company called Arctic Adventures, they are one of the best and you will be guaranteed a great time, the snow mobile adventure is also a highlight, again a lot of fun, there are some cool museums to visit, make sure anything you wish to photograph that you are out and about between 11am to 2pm as it is dark outside those hours, this video was recorded in December so it gives you a good idea of what you will expect to see, also it is a great time for the northern lights so maybe book a guide to take you out to take some photos , I was lucky to see them and get some nice shots when I was up there, if you need recommendations of hotel or what company to book any adventure just let us know, otherwise go up there to have some fun, I did, hence this video.

i stayed at the city living hotel in town, (43 Grønnegata
Tromsø, Troms), nothing but great things to say, it was clean, great staff and my room had it's own mini kitchen, and the location is central to pretty much everything, hope this helps and have a great time there.
