Great list! I am still looking for Hell House in my country. I rate The Shining as Stephen King's scariest book, great choice. I read The Devil Rides Out last year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
You have good taste! Good luck with Hell House. It’s so much fun. I actually discovered it when Marvel loosely adapted it in Werewolf by Night. I was compelled to track it (and the movie with Roddy McDowell) down.

I haven't read Hell House, or, indeed anything by Richard Matheson, so that's something I need to rectify as that sounds very much like my type of thing. My Dad had been in the airforce, and he told me that every barracks he'd ever been in had had a battered copy of The Devil Rides Out laying about somewhere, to the extent that he began to wonder if the RAF actually issued them. The Exorcist? Ooh dear me no, too rich for my blood...
