So today July 21st, this problem happened on my 2016 fusion. Thanks a million for the advice on this it really did help me. I was able to drive it to the closest Ford garage and happened to find out there is a recall on the bushing issue. Hope you have are able to put out more videos to help everyone. Really appreciate finding this useful video.
Thank you for the video. I was able to get at the lever and pop the piece back on. It was very tight to get at, but if you wiggle your hand in, you get at it.
Glad you made it home! Now just order your bushing and youll be fine. MAKE SURE to rub some grease on your bushing when you replace it so it shifts smooth. No grease = stiff shift

@@curtisp.2976 just google ford fusion transmission linkage bushing. You can also take it to the dealer, its covered under a recall. They will do it for free but might have your car for a while waiting on the bushing… You can buy to doorman one, the oem one is hard to find.

Its called a transmission linkage bushing. I dont have the exact part number. Just google it you can find one. You can also take it to the dealer and they will do it for free.
