@noahmehringer29 Sam was confirmed to be in Penacony during thr 1.6 live stream. Where at the end they had the leader of The Family, Sunday, talk about the expected guests. It's also how we know Himeko will be our trailblazing partner this time around.

The Jappella Brotherhood were a part of the Annihilation Gang. They were actually Ifrit's rivals.
I agree the Hunters are evil BUT those "judges" are the Jeppella Brotherhood, another sub-faction of the Gang (Inferno's sub-faction is Ever-Flame Mansion).

The Stellaron Hunters are antivillains. Villainous characters with good intentions.
They really aren’t villains though. Otto, GGZ Dr Mei, Sirin, Sa, Herrscher of Domination, Herrscher of Corruption; now those are villains
That bugs me so much. It’s the same shit with Ruan Mei and the whole, “she’s not evil, she’s morally grey” argument. Having no moral compass doesn’t excuse evil actions. Actions speak louder than words and the Hunters have proved they’ll cause a worldwide apocalypse if it means getting what they want. They can say they’re working toward killing Nanook all they want, but all they’ve been doing so far is commit galaxy wide terrorism.
It might be better to say they’re villains, but they aren’t active antagonists to us

With all do respect CyYu, Stellaron hunters not being villains, but being antagonists? It's actually the other way around. Because villain is someone that does terrible things, no matter the objective. Stellaron hunters with their planetary level terrorist attacks most definietly fit the bill. ANTAGONIST on the other hand, is a character that goes against the beliefs of the protagonist, and is a constant obstacle on their path. Here, Stallaron hunters goal is actually important because they want the same thing as Astral Express, but their means are way more terrific than those of Express crew.
To quote Zangief in Wreck-It Ralph: "You are bad guy but does not mean you are BAD guy."
That's the Stellaron Hunters in a nutshell. They perform terrible acts but they're not actively malicious either. The Annihilation Gang on the other hand, as the name implies, are a bunch of psychopaths hell bent on causing as much chaos and destruction as possible. You know they're bad cause even Nanook and the Antimatter Legion consider them a special bunch of lunatics.
Fun fact catriana Was also in Hi3 she was a Valkyrie working for schicksal and a partner of Welt Yang But she died in the 2nd eruption sacrificing herself

I don’t know if anyone plays Alchemy Stars but Caterina absolutely reminded me of Leona. The resemblance is just uncanny. Also, does anyone else prefer this group of “villains” more than the Stellaron Hunters??
Stellaron Hunters are more Anti-heroes and besides a few antagonistic encounters, none of the things we've seen them do are towards people the audience seems to like. Silverwolf and Kafka beat up the Anti-matter legion/IPC (Neither are good groups) and the Jeppella Rebellion happened to a Annihilation gang group so its more like they're beating up A-holes. They're also pretty cool character-wise so far and the fact you can be chat buddies with Kafka and Silverwolf seems to put them in friendly villain territory so far with the Trailblazer.
it does kind of feel like hoyo is going ALL in on genshin+HSR, they are even completely revamping honkai to fit with their new design philosphies. honestly i hate it but i'm sure many others are ectatic.
Have you considered that the HSR aesthetic may be what they actually wanted HI3 to look like all along? Because they have been talking about the engine updated for quite a while now and with Part 2 they are actually putting it into practice.
So what's more likely? That they made HSR to more closely resemble their intended goal for HI3 that they're now moving toward or that they've decided to completely revamp HI3, a game that they've admitted to caring a lot about and being one of their passion projects in the past?
The same people who were declaring that HI3 is Hoyo's favorite child now are screaming that they're changing it to closely resemble the... non-favorite children I guess. I really can't take this sorta stuff serious. Are you sure it's a valid concern instead of just making assumptions based on some screenshots and perceived similarities and screaming "they've changed it, now it sucks?"
Duke and the rest of the Annihilation are like the unfavorite child Nanook doesn't even acknowledge.

Yeah it's pretty random but then again you have to consider that Penacony would be the battle Royale of the factions and this is the Destruction's introduction, so I am also expecting the other faction videos
My theory as to why Ifrit favors Constance over the other is that she is his biological daughter, while the others are adopted

Honestly i feel like Dubra is closer to being Ifrits actual child than Constance, Ifrit is a lifeform much like heliobi and Dubras design looks like an actual Heliobi and the puppets body looks like one of those kids that the Xianzhou seals Heliobi in

Constance is definitely a Succubus, given that she's got the Horns (albeit of a Ram) and the Tail but also the fact that she's probably about as Pretty as Ruan Mei while also seemingly Mysterious as Kafka. I mean...you don't really need leaks to know Penacony is in roughly two and a half weeks.
1.6 patch live stream teased Penacony for 2.0, the next patch.
Hoyoverse has had a pretty regular 6 week patch schedule that they follow (and if for whatever reason they don't follow it they're usually incredibly up front about it like when 1.5 was only 5 weeks). So next patch should be February 7th. I guess to be fair we don't know that they're going to open up Penacony on day 1 of the patch...but come on.

Yeah but that fight was draw at best. These guys are more on our level, so it's a fairly even fight.
I mean, Phantylia is also the least direct combat focused of the Ravagers. Her M.O. is civil war, she destroys people from within. If the Stellaron Hunters gambit hadn’t succeeded, then I’m almost completely sure that the Luofu would be space dust. It took the Sanctus Medicus being repeatedly clapped by the Express crew before Phantylia stepped up and revealed herself. By her own words, we were lucky that the other two weren’t present as it would be no contest.

Its funny how the trailer makes them look like top level threats while the lore treats them more like nuisances. One gang tried to kill the aeon IX with predictable results, another got wiped out by the Stellaron Hunters. Screwllum barely treats them as a threat and Dr Ratio hijacked Duke Infernos plan for his own. Worst of all, Nanook doesnt even care that much for them. They're the only group of enemy faction that consistently take a lot of Ls.

This will make people point finger at me but I'd prefer to have them as non playable so they can remain proper villains. Also, I find them a bit cringe, especially the Duke when you realize that like Cy Yu said, they're akin to a "notice me sempai" situation when Nanook doesn't give a damn about them. And, I know this will make people go angy but to me.... none of them feels interesting to me currently. It might change but right now.... Meh.

said it before and will say it again, playable character doesn't need to be good, please let us play as the villain, if we can use Bronya in Xianzhou then we can use duke inferno to fight nanook, stop with this immersion nonsense. Like people keep making up reasons why some character should not be playable i.e. if they are dead, if they are villain, etc. Why should it matter? gameplay and lore shouldn't be align 1 to 1, heck the character's in lore path mostly has nothing to do with their gameplay path. I want to play as a cool fiery demon head, it has nothing to do with if he is the main character friend, games should be more willing to just make playable villain without justifying it, just for the sake of gameplay

My prediction on the upcoming 2.0 stuff is that dubra,akash ,caterina, Constance, will betray Duke, Inferno, and then they team up with the express to stop Inferno maybe
Let's not forget that these are the people who are straight up ignored by Nanook (especially Duke inferno) despite their insistence and multiple attempts to try and win his gaze, which I find funny because it makes it difficult for me to take them as seriously as I might've without that context 💀

Honkai games has a habbit of making villains playable so I am pretty some of them will be playable.

Otto, Kevin, HoC, HoD, Wendy, Cocolia, Jackal, Grey Serpent, Herrscher of Ice, Stars and Rimestar (counting them as 3 separate enemies despite being 2 people), Vita (i.e the antagonists of the entire game up to this point) are all unplayable. I am not counting Mobius as a villain, by the way. Senti is also absolutely not a villain.
