We are planning the same trip next summer!! Based in Holland, MI and finishing a refit on an Oceanis 461, then headed to the Caribbean ! Excited to follow your journey!
That is so exciting! We are so glad to have along on our journey. Reach out any time with questions and let’s get together when you arrive in the Caribbean.
A GoPro. We got a microphone for it in Port Huron and have finally started using it. Let us know in a couple weeks if you notice an improvement in the sound on our videos. Thank you for watching.
Hello. We sailed past you on Lake Ontario just before you got to Oswego New York. Then saw you briefly when we came into the marina. Enjoying your videos. Just curious where you guys are headed and or what is your destination?
I am so glad you are enjoying our videos. We are heading south eventually to South America and Central America. Probably spend a couple years in the Caribbean and then off to the rest of the world.
oh my I'm having fun watching you two. Loved watching you Anna walking on the beach and remember walking on our beach. Way to brave the cold and get in the water, another memory of "floating" in the great Pacific Ocean while clamming. Oh my good memories. Love watching this journey
We have discussed that we should have two points of contact for our dinghy when towing but it only came with one attachment point so that is how we roll. It tows perfectly but we could lose it. We are not very attached to our dinghy so we wouldn’t be heart broken if it ran away. 😂 Honestly we didn’t know that we should be using the whisker pole when sailing wing on wing. We have only used it when flying the spinnaker. Do you think it would increase our speed?
@@SailingOnward Both were observations, not criticisms. A whisker pole is usally different from a spinnaker pole and the latter would not likely work well with that jib. As I said, you seem to get along well without one.
@@pontoonrob7948 that would have been so fun. We absolutely fell in Love with Frankfort. If we weren’t sailing the world we would totally live there. We are almost to Port Huron now.
❤
All in my backyard. 🙂

im headed to UP michigan next week. i cannot wait!
You are going to love it so much!
So are we.

Jim and I explored some coastal towns of Michigan last August and loved it!
What was your favorite town?
@@SailingOnward We stayed in Muskegon and really like it.
Amazing views!! Now I have to go visit that little city in MI.....just not by water. Thanks for sharing!
Happy your following along. Thanks for watching. You guys would love Frankfort!
It is magical.

So glad you are following along. I will always hold our clamming memories close to my heart. ❤
Michigan is beautiful. I have fond memories of Frankenmuth around 2009.
So your destination is the Caribbean? I’ll follow that journey.
@@TheCornucopiaProject-bd5jk The Caribbean for a year or two and then we will head to other parts of the world. Thank you for joining us.
You guys should have taken a walk through Fishtown (Leland) Very cool shops on the water.
We would have loved to but that day ended being a 16 hour day for us. If we ever get back to Lake Michigan we will for sure.
You wing and wing without a whisker pole, and you tow the dinghy without a bridle, and both seem to work for you.

If we had known you were in Frankfort we could have met and bought dinner. We have homes on crystal lake and glen lake and traverse city
