I just wanna say, irminsul doesn't go off if you call him over all your plant tokens (sad) rule action makes it so that once he's called over the plant tokens they retire before his on place goes off. (At least that's what I've been told from everyone at my locals) love you guys and both decks!! Thanks for playing my favorite matchup
Have you seen vanguard insider's video about rule interactions and on-place triggerings? Because the way "overcall" retire works is you call the card, any on place skills activate and go into standby. You the do a ruling check, see an over called unit, retire the unit that has been called over, and then resolve any skills that you choose to/can that are in the skill pool. I don't know the exact card you're talking about though so I can't tell you if that specific interaction works. I've had locals tell me something doesn't work, only to research it and find that it does.
It does go off because the tokens were present when it was placed, so its skill goes into standby. Its how people have been able to unflip 2 counterblasts with one Blaster D. Revenger and 2 Dorints for 3 years.
Order goes
>Call unit
>Unit’s effect triggers because it met its requirement for effect to trigger
>Unit goes into standby
>board state is checked before finishing effect (overloaded cards are put to drop zone)
>Units in standby are then resolved in the order of the player’s choosing IF the cost can still be paid (Irminsul’s case the cost is Counterblast 1).
So because Irminsul was placed when tokens were present, it goes into standby and it’s skill can still be resolved after the tokens have been overloaded.

Yes, the skill goes on standby, because its first condition "When placed," was triggered, together Trailing Rose and Mirrka.
You resolve all rule actions during the next check timing (aka after finishing Katrina's AUTO skill), in which case, the relevant portion being placing overloaded units/tokens to the drop zone/"token pile" respectively, before proceeding with the other AUTO abilities on standby.
Since Irminsul's second condition of "if you have two or more grade 0 rear-guards" was not met, he could not be used first prior to using either Mirrka or Trailing Rose to generate a second token to call out.
However, if you overloaded Irminsul with a token, you could still pay for his cost to draw a card, except the +5000 Power to two units in the same column as him could not be used as column positioning is not part of Final Information.

Why you no call kaivant with katrina skill? Because of bloom rulings kaivant would get +25k then with gladiolus you get that once more
Apparently Kaivant doesnt gain power like Bloom because the tokens go away before he can gain the power

Dude when you placed dindrane from the G guard its placed by a card effect so you could have soul blasted to either draw or counter charge
Placing and Moving are not the same.
Ellise skill states: When this unit is placed on (GC), you may pay the cost. If you do, look at two cards from the top of your deck, call a card from among them to (GC), and until end of that battle, it gets "[AUTO](GC):When an attack does not hit, you may **move** this unit to (RC).", and put a card from among them on the bottom of your deck.
Ellise “Moves” a card from guard circle to rear. Dindrane is not being placed so it’s effect doesn’t trigger. This is why you cant use the Shadow Paladin GGuard to place Mac Lir from rearguard to Guardian circle.
To add to that note, Intercepting is also moving. You can’t place a unit from one circle to another. They’re already on a circle so you can’t unplace a unit and then place them again.
