- In this video, we want to update our subscribers on my wife Maddy’s colon cancer - it’s been a year! In the fall of 2021, my brother was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, and just weeks after that, my wife Maddy was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. At the time of this video, they have both successfully completed their cancer treatments and are coming up on a year-mark of their diagnoses. Many people wonder how cancer starts, what the side-affects are, and why cancer is such a serious disease. Despite cancer being a very personal and sensitive subject, Chandler and his wife Maddy open up about the entire journey, how the diagnosis and treatment has been for them individually, as well as for their family. Cancer is not a short term illness, and there are definitely many ups and downs along the way. As a recent Stage 3C rectal cancer survivor, I got chills thinking of Maddy’s passing after what appeared to be successful treatment. At the same time, I’m jealous of the strong bond the two of you shared. At the end of my treatments my wife divorced me. I felt so alone during my treatment - absolutely no emotional support from her. I may have won the battle, but lost the war. Hold on to the loving memories of your beautiful wife.

My man! Stage 2 testicular cancer survivor here. You rid yourself from cancer and a disloyal wife. You have a clean slate now! Chin up! I know how hard it is for YEARS after treatment and how much it beats up the body, which leaves you in a dark whole. What you have to remember is you are still here. God has a purpose for you still. Feelings aren’t reflective of reality, they are temporary. STAY STRONG and keep plowing! Sending you good vibes and wishing that you live your 2nd life to the fullest! Find love again! You never recover from losing your beloved who was your soul mate, Wife, best friend, Mother to your children, lover & partner in crime lol ya it's NEVER gonna happen. All you can do in life is move forward, be grateful, thankful that our Heavenly Father gave Maddy to us & the precious time that our loved one gave us until it was time for him to call Maddy home. Grief is ever evolving but it NEVER leaves you, it's always there to remind you of what you were given on loan but that was never truly yours. You just live with a broken heart & cherish the time you have with your children, family & friends. @@daphnesuarez5924 I couldn't agree with you more. I lost my Dad unexpectedly 46 years ago and you just adjust to a new reality. There is no recovering from loss but I feel talking about my Dad and helping others brings me some peace. My Dad's name was James and when I do a kind deed, I tell the recipient that was in memory of Mr. Jimmy. I hope her family starts foundations and other things to honor her amazing life. I pray you all move forward with love and grace. Maddy is healed and dwelling in Heaven.

She was incredibly beautiful. That doesn’t even cover it, she was stunning. She radiated beauty in every sense. I can guarantee that sharing her journey will help someone else realize that they should get into the dr and get even a minute symptom checked. I am really sorry for your loss. It is unbelievable that she looked so well and then passed away in such a short time.
My cousin was 27 when he died. He dealt with stomach cancer for three years and it almost looked like he beat it at one point in time. But when the cancer really kicked in and spread everywhere it took maybe about a month to finish him off.
Wow- I came here after my youtube feed randomly fed me your most recent video processing the loss of your wife and celebrating her legacy and I now understand your sentiment about words not being able to adequately capture the strength and amazingness of Maddy. She is literally a light of a human being. Her energy just radiates. What a blessing to have had such a light in your lives and hoping for that light to hold you and your babies through such a unimaginable loss.
Wow, I can just tell she cares about you so much. I get the vibe that she wasn't worried about herself per say but more about how her husband, kids, and loved ones would feel about the hardship. You can tell she is a beacon of light and positivity.

So impressed to see how strong you are both are. I remember seeing my nephew battle cancer when he was 8 and then again at 13. It was such a reminder of how each day is so fragile. He's now 30 years old and doing well. Thanks reminding us all to be strong and enjoy life as much as possible.

As you stated, do the things you love, you never know what may come up. It's important to have some sort of expectation when something like this comes up. Maddy is a beautiful person, her positive attitude is so contagious and incredible considering all she was going through and at such a young age! 😊
She was so beautiful so young. So sorry. I am a stage 2 colon cancer survivor 19 years. But treatment almost killed me twice. I say treatment must be changed to heal not destroy the body. I’m angry that she is gone. I had an 8 year old and had just been widowed when I got cancer. Life is different and difficult for everyone at times.

My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer exactly 1 year ago as well. We also have 6 year old and 3 year old. She said the same thing that lucky it was her and not others in the family. You are a mom and wife. I respect you for still making videos. Good luck to you and your fam!

I am 1 year post treatment! ~ All of the details you mentioned about the surgery, getting the port put in, starting chemo, etc it was like checking stuff off. Damn Chandler, meeting her for the first time after seeing your latest update. She is so strong, positive, smart, caring, and clearly loves her family. Maybe finding a way to celebrate the time you were priviledged to have her. character is remembered and celebrated. In mexico we have day of the dead where we remember our loved ones and celebrate. Time will help you figure out how to deal with it, it's not your turn yet. Remember to stay present like both of you did bud. I cried for your pain, wish you the best bud. I almost lost my wife and got a glimpse of your pain.

Thanks for the update and keeping us in the loop. Obviously you guys don't owe any of us anything. But we are all rooting for you and your family! I'm glad to hear she is doing well and pray your brother is doing well also! The truth is, 50% of us are going to have to deal with this fight at some point in time. Thanks for sharing your story. Was diagnosed with Stage 3b colon cancer last year. Having only 5 more chemo treatments. I think it is harder for the family to watch their loved one go through it. For me the hardest part is people seeing that I have not lost all my hair due to chemo. So they think it is not serious even though I go through 48 hours of chemo every other week. I do think the most important part is staying positive. A friend of mine was going through cancer when I found out and we have been each other support system. I also find my way of thinking has changed. I think am thinking more ahead and focused on being prepared for things that we might face in life. I am thankful to have truly amazing doctors. FYI, I long for those days I feel good and have energy. 🙂
I have thought of you guys so often, wondering how things are going. This was such a good video! The update was wonderful and your words were encouraging! As we navigate through trials in our life, Maddy’s advice to take things one step at a time, set a goal right in front of you or we are going to accomplish this now, then we will move on to the next step. It amazing how healthy she looks, and that she actually died from her cancer. I know people who for years look like 1 foot in the grave and still kicking.

It's so disheartening to watch this knowing what the outcome was, she was just an angel, her little laugh at the very end of this video just says everything. BUT - if you read this chandler, I just want you to know that her passing, while HORRIBLE, it's also doing good things in the world. Maddy is affecting the lives of people she never met in positive ways. I never met her, unfortunately, but because of her, and your videos, it inspired me to go get my first colonoscopy. I've been putting it off for years, just because I'm a hypochondriac and out of fear, but I've just gotten my first one scheduled, 100% because of you and Maddy. In other words, she's potentially saving lives. She may be physically gone, but she's doing great things.

She was exuding positivity and it is infectious. I admire her outlook and handling of her condition. I am so sorru for your loss i lost my first wife to breast cancer in. 2001 and istill miss the wonderful person she was in our lives a few urars later and just when i thought i could really move on when i met my fiancee when tragedy struck again, i lost her to kidney camcer, 2 weeks short if her 68th birthday. I felt like the world caving in and was not for me along all the emotional ups and downs accompanying it. In the end, we comfort ourselves to the fact that they are free of pain from this terrible disease as i know you also feel. I offer prayers for you and your family's peace of mind

I'm thrilled to hear how well she is doing...went thru a 10 yr colon cancer journey with my husband. His journey ended 7 yrs ago. Treatments have come incredibly far so stay positive. It's hard on the caregiver so take good care of yourself 💜

Since 2017 i had ulcerative colitis, being sick it’s not fun, but thank god we still alive even we got sick in young age i am 26 and i am still thankful for everything. Hope you gets well soon

Gosh this hits hard for me knowing she just passed away. My mother had colon cancer and I went in to get checked. Come to find out inform precancerous polyps I’m my colon and stomach. I get scopes done every three years now and I’m constantly worrying. She is so beautiful and her spirit lights up a room. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for her/your entire family.

Amazing story! Thank you for sharing and being open about how you guys navigated the process. The one piece of advice I would give to anyone struggling with something is to break the negative stigma of counseling.
The analogy that I can give for this crowd is this, you can sell your house on your own but you will have an easier, and gain more out of the experience by using a licensed real estate agent. For some selling a house on your own is doable but for the large majority using an agent is best. Replace the selling a house with a getting through life and replace the real estate agent with a therapist. Yes, some can get through life doing it yourself but most if not all of us should see a therapist because it will make it easier and gain more from the experience.

The positive is I lived and functioned very r you well after that. 3 years later I went through double bypass open heart surgery and a year later had a stint put in my heart. Now working on 72 years old I live every day the best I can. Stay strong and positive and never give up!

Im scarring my self by learning more about the symptoms she felt.cuz i have abdominal pain and the doctors can find the reason to that pain.the did find to lumps on my liver.but the abdominal pain isn’t getting any better.

18 years ago I had stage 3 colon cancer. I had no symptoms, but on evening I took a shower and started feeling very, very faint. I barely made it to the bed. Later I looked in the mirror to comb my hair and I had blue coloring under my eyes. Went to hospital. They gave me blood because I was bleeding internally. Long story short, if that tumor had not started to bleed, I would have never known I had this cancer till it was too late... Maddie seemed to have such a beautiful spirit. RIP darling!!
