- Join me as I am down in Marco Island, Florida at an incredible property, doing another landscape overhaul. This house sits at the end of a land finger and has the ocean as part of its backyard. The other part of the backyard is going to be a peaceful oasis with nothing but beautiful gardens and an incredible patio.
Stay tuned for the finished video of this gorgeous Florida property.
I can’t wait to see the project continue! Yeah, I thought that C3 was only containers. Please make sure to do another walkthrough!
Hey Jack!!!!!! good to see you hanging around my hood, snowbird. I'm 75 East, Miami.... Nice design.. I swear Jack, if I hit the lottery, you will be the first on my list of designers!!!
We lve in Naples and I recently retired with the City of Marco Island, my husband is with t h e city of marco island....we love Marco Island and the people on the island. I am so excited to see the progress of this island home....you are definitely a landscape artist and what an incredible gift to have...happy landscaping....
That yard is going to look fantastic looking over the water. I cannot wait until the next video.
I live in San Diego so it is about 70 all the time but I love watching all your vids no matter what part of the country you are working to beautify.
Going to be beautiful and refreshing
Exciting! I love how you can imagine the design. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I love the colors, textures, and interest of the front yard! I can't wait to see the back yard finished!
Jack you heard me😀 Thanks for teaching us snowbirds the tropical plants! Beautiful project 💗
Wow I thought that was white rocks, shells look cool, as with the design. Wow that is beautiful the last 3 pictures of the progress stunning work.
Same here, I can’t wait to see the results!!!!
What a fabulous project! Can’t wait to see this. With your talent, I know it will be amazing👍🏻
Thanks!!
Oh, what a gorgeous property and starting from scratch must be so exciting. I love the idea of creating another garden room with a view of the water. You have so many visions of beautiful landscapes and plants it must be hard to shut it off at the end of the day.
That’s for sure!!!
Going to be awesome! Can’t wait to see it finished.
Thanks!
Crazy project! Winter on Pine Island north of Marco look forward to seeing the final.
Can’t wait to see the end result!
sounds amazing! look forward to seeing the end result 🌴🏠🌴
Gary Alan from the Designers Landscape on HGTV would be very proud of you, you lay things out just like him. Great job!
Thank you so much for walking us through your design process! Digging down for that patio is genius! It minimizes how large the hardscape will look from the pool and house. It also gives the opportunity to plant clear around the back letting the landscape literally hug around you while in the space... how cozy! I am just in awe how you come up with these ideas. You have a huge fan here in rainy Oregon. 👏👏👏
Also having the patio lower makes you feel like you are closer to the water in the canal. I think i will be processing the genius of this design for a while. LOL can't wait to see it finished!
That is exactly what I was thinking! From the pool level, I wanted them to look out and see only plantings and water~~
When they are on the lower new patio, it is a special private little waterside nook!
There's probably only a handful of landscape designer/architects that have concurrent businesses in Zones 4 and 9. Pretty awesome Jack (and the team).
Can't wait to see the finished project!!! 🙂
Wonderful!!! I want to be them 😊 What a great location. This is going to make such a grand statement! 🙌 Thanks for sending 🌞 wishes!
Absolutely EPIC project, Jack.
Appreciate you taking the time to video this & (your many other) designs, to go inside the strategy on these jobs. The reveal at the end is but the icing, but love the start to finish. As we patiently wait for spring to finally bust through, here in Michigan, the videos are rays of sunshine.
Maybe this is the summer, I catch a glimpse of your sweet hat & smile while on Mackinac and say hello.
I got me a bromeliad after watching your video last year and put it in a corner outside last summer here in Michigan and forgot it and found it at the end of summer and it was just fine. I didn’t realize how tough they are. It’s inside for winter but can’t wait for summer again.
As always great job. Looking forward to seeing the end results. Thank you for going through plant material
Love watching your projects unfold, can’t wait to see how things progress.
Jack, you are the Superman of landscaping! I always have to sit down & make time to watch & appreciate your videos. I cannot wait to see this done! Love learning about the palms & the different species of plants used in Florida.
So cool 😎 I want that place!
It's going gorgeous Jack! Can't wait to see it complete!🤗💜
I love what you do! I am now at my home in Florida (on a different island) but live at my home in the NC mountains most of the time where I have five acres of gardens. I am here to sell my property. I commend you, Jack! Landscaping in Florida is a challenge because of the sandy soil and coastal elements that wreak havoc on the blooms. I have enjoyed landscaping my "yard" here but can not wait for it to be over. It is just not the same as NC or Michigan... or any other place with rich soil and minimal wind. The Nor'easters here leave the gardens looking like a rat's nest! My backyard is one big sandbox so soil preparation/amending is a tediously laborious task, especially when evergreens such as hollies, arborvitaes, azaleas, hydrangeas, roses, etc. are preferred. Thanks for sharing. I wish you were here to help us! Putting together an elegant landscape with those voluptuous blooms is almost impossible here. ARGH!!!
Jack, whether you're in Florida or Michigan I can always learn something and find inspiration for my landscaping and flower gardens in KY. I enjoy watching you in your element doing your thing! Looking forward to some MI videos with all of the perennials and annuals that you do there...more conducive to my growing zone.
Thanks for Sneek Peek. I can't get over that they get to use sea shells as mulch. Snow is the only white mulch we get here.
No grass! A dream of mine!
Hi Jack I love your channel, I love the gardens you dissing en i like is just cottage houses and I have my cottage house and I would like to know if you use just top soil you don't use garden soil? Is okay just top soil, because Im designing my garden too and I learning of you and I would like to know that, I hope you can answer my question 🙏
Since on topic, something else that is interesting about the Sago palms (in Florida or anywhere) is that they are toxic to dogs. If a dog happens to nibble on or eat a pup (those red seeds in the middle of the Sago (Queen), it can die. Definitely something to consider if you are a dog owner and considering a Sago.
Looks stunning but just concerned about the faux turf used in the dog run as I've read that it gets too hot so hot that it burns the dogs paws. Hopefully not!
That rarely happens in Florida. Am not sure where you live, but unless you are in Central Florida or miles away from the coast where ocean breezes are cooling, Florida is much cooler than many states during Summer.
@@tmbts902 thanks, Mary, I'm in South Africa where it can get very hot in certain areas.
@@diannehiggs Oh but those Foxtail ferns!!!! Such a beautiful one!
Jack, can a potted Sago Palm survive in the lower temperatures?
Spectacular! I love the shell mulch, would love to see it at night!
FYI It’s the gulf (Gulf of Mexico) not ocean … not to worry great video
Like, subscribe, comment, share. Study up on tropical plants.
No before?
Where’s the finished?!
The bugs must be insane there, given all the screening. 😬
No fare! One word "ice."
No! What about a Florida Friendly Landscape? Anything but more plastic. I’m bummed
Fake grass doesnt seem like the best thing for Florida for how much rain and heat y'all get I would think you would have stuff growing on top the foe turf. unless you treat it like carpet in your house by vacuuming it
Believe it or not, that is a maintenance practice some use for it- about once a year, some vacuum the silica sand out, and sweep in new to keep it super clean- ! Many pressure wash it and that works too-
- I don’t love it… but for certain projects and applications, it has found a place in some designs for sure…
@@JackBarnwellDesign the thought of seeing someone vacuuming there lawn I would laugh and think they crazy. But the thought of seeing someone pressure washing their lawn 😂 I would think there a complete nut job 😭😭
The side where the dog run is, has a lot of shade. The faux grass makes a huge amount of sense given the cost of water in Marco and the maintenance required. Beautiful design!
