Hammock Gear Economy Ground. Black Friday special; I have the 20F and the 0F versions (I am a cold sleeper). Also own a few Sea to Summit and Marmot bags.
I've got the Featherstone 25, i had it imported from the states. Couldn't be happier with it. Pair it with an ultralight down blanket and it will get me through the most frigid English winters.
I love my 30 degree HG Econ Burrow! I was watching you make your way through the numbers in the video, and thinking, “I can’t believe he hasn’t talked about the Econ Burrow.” It really is a great deal. It was the greatest weight drop vs dollar cost that I’ve ever achieved in my gear upgrades. I’ve had mine down to 40f with an uninsulated sleeping pad. With a few more layers of clothing or a better pad I think it would be do-able down near 30f.
If you want an easily available down quilt, check out the Featherstone Moondance 25 on Amazon, $160 for the regular, and $170 for the Long/Wide, 850 Downtek fill 25 degree quilt and only 1lb 7oz, I bought one for layering on winter car camping/climbing trip semi last minute. Temps were expected to hit the lower teens at night, windchill in the sub 0 , and also it has held up as well as my Loco Libre Gear Quilt on a couple solos to test it out, my GF uses it now as her go to for spring hiking.
I don't know A LOT about the Paria, and haven't seen a ton of reviews. I believe it's about 2.5 pounds for the 15-degree quilt, which was a strike against it for me, but the price is definitely good, and what I *HAVE* heard is that it's true to its temperature rating.
@@HikeCalifornia 2lbs 3oz for the regular and 2lbs 5oz for the long on the 15 degree! They also make a 30 degree now as well that is like $144. I just finished researching quilts and the 15 degree is the one i chose to order!
I use 2 down bags from Hyke and Byke. A 15° and a 0°. Both were purchased below $200. The company is seriously underrated. I subbed. Come check me out too.
What backpacking quilt or sleeping bag do you use?

Enlightened Equipment Revelation Apex synthetic. About $190 bucks. Much prefer synthetic. And they do give a Veteran's discount.
Useful info, no irritating music, California. Nice!
Much appreciated!
I will I’d watched this last week before I spent more on lower quality quilt. That HG looks amazing.
Story of my life! 😭 Hope whatever you came up with isn't too terrible.
@@HikeCalifornia I think it'll be fine. Now I know for next time.
This was excellent. Thank you!

Such a great quilt. Anyone I have ask me about getting into backpacking, I point them to this quilt.
Great video. Crow✌️
Synthetic until now. I live in the PNW where rain is a lifestyle.
Thx. Love the no bullshit approach.
Damn dude! Nice closeup!!
I picked up the naturehike and all you do have to do is turn it like a blanket and zip it up to behind your knees. You can use it like a quilt.

I'm looking at getting a featherstone, can't find much info on it. What are some of the pros/cons of that quilt?
He also didn't really discuss the Paria Thermodown series
I'd like to see how the Featherstone Moondance 25 850 on Amazon compares.
ethically sourced is a must-that may cost more
Anyone try the Sierra Madre Puffle?
Wondering why you left out the paria 15 degree down quilt. Its $160.

@@briannamiller2921 Awesome. I appreciate the feedback. I'll look into it a bit more!
Thanks for the video! If I could make a recommendation, please back the camera up some.
I appreciate that, and I agree. :)

Paria Thermodown. Thank me later!
Great informational video, but the close up of your face is a bit disconcerting.
Thanks, I agree, haha. Appreciate the feedback.
Biggest mistake ever made was getting a synthetic sleeping bag over a down. DOWN is far superior for backpacking all day long!
Until it gets wet and you have NOTHING We all have out opinions and my opinion is 100% different
Wow this is close up lmao
