      Thank you! I started to lose interest in making videos with all the reels on facebook and instagram but now that something finally clicked in my mind allowing me to start making videos and tell a story, I have regained my desire to keep pushing. I love a good video that tells a great story. I got a long ways to go, but seeing all the comments on this one and my last one makes it all worth it! So thank you for the support! It’s more than just trying to make money for me!

      @ next time I’m at a race I will have to introduce myself. It seems like every time I have seen you at a track you are running around like crazy trying to get great shots. You definitely have the nack for putting together a video that is entertaining and educational. I would also like to see more driver videos with the history of the car and driver. I thought The ones you have done in the past were a good way to tie the human element with the car. All of your video formats keep improving so keep up the strong work

      Yes sir! Next time you see me for sure come introduce yourself. But yea I am normally running around like crazy from 8am to midnight. But, I do have three more driver videos I have to put together here in the next few months.

      It’s just hard to get the time to make the videos. I’m active duty Air Force, wife and two kids and then after the race I put in probably another 20 hours at least putting the recap together so after that I’m either just exhausted or have no time. So I’ve been saving several videos for the off season

    Great coverage. I love it. I lived in Charlotte when SEGA started and went to many races in the area. I’ve since moved away. I miss the people and action so follow your posts. Nice work. Thanks

    I completely understand the nostalgia of no score boards and thank you for digging up the history for us! Personally, this is similar to allowing better quality G-Force transmissions and better equipment in the series compared to the 60's. It allows a better show for the fans. It brings an element to the fans that lets them get excited in the stands for someone that breaks a record, for example. I believe that I would be more on board with it if the announcers didn't annouce the times or they were not posted online. But since they are let the fans know who is the fastest and let them root for the underdog because you love their brand, or car, or person better. But this is coming from someone that grew up in a later generation of NHRA! Great video as always Dylan!

      I understand that also! Why let one thing happen that wasn’t around then and not the other. Valid point and I’m sure you’re aware, but I’ll comment for others that may read this that don’t know. I understand your point, but I also see the transmissions reasoning as the gforces are way stronger than the muncies or others from the 60’s and have less issues, and allow the day of racing to go smoother and faster so the fans aren’t having to sit and wait on cleanups multiple times a day due to transmission breakages. The scoreboards don’t affect anything other than someone knowing the time. But again they’re all great arguments. Personally for me, after going to a current NHRA race and watching them run, any other times just don’t seem impressive. Seem being the key word for me. They still are, but it’s one of them things where I see a 5.20 run by Leslie or Ben and initially think and realize it’s fast, but my mind whether I want it to or not immediately wants to compare it to a 3.83 pass in the quarter. It’s the intrusive thoughts if you’ll call it that, that take over so not knowing the times and just watching the pass is what I love. Just me though

      @dh.media_ I'm completely with you and honestly it's more of argument for arguments sake 😂 I love the series so whatever they do works for me! I just always catch myself in the stands saying dang I wish I knew what they ran there 😂

      Yea I know what ya mean man. I’ve even thought the idea of David in the tower just announce the times. From all the old footage I’ve watched, that’s how it was back then

    Great video Dylan for trying to explain this ! I've been following SEGA since the very 1st race with the unveiling of Gene Cromer's Moonlighter at Greer Dragway. I can see both sides of this argument, but I like it the way it is - it gives one an old-school feeling of nostalgia without immediately comparing it to modern day technology. When attending a SEGA event, you are immediately transported back to a late 60's time capsule - and I think they that's the way it should be, with an appreciation for the achievements during simpler times. More than the scoreboard debate, would like to see SEGA "grow" even more with more entries in all classes (kinda surprised by the limited super stock entries), but like every thing else, it all takes money. Know it's a "stretch" , but would like to see a 30 car field in every class, and at least 20 representing the AFX class 😉. Ive been politicing for a contingent of SEGA cars to be represented at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago - its always the weekend after Thanksgiving - think it would really give SEGA some "midwest exposure " with possible growth. I wish they would consider going back to Greer ( the layout is better than Shadyside), but I guess there's not enough room for all the motor homes & campers now. Anyway, SEGA is the only type of motorsports that I attend 😊...thanks again for the great video & keep up the good work !!

      It’s not the best explanation I don’t think. I could probably go more in depth with it but it’s a good brief reason as to the why on this topic. I like it the way it is also. It’s just one small attention to detail that Quain put into it to contribute to that feeling of walking back in time. Just sadly, people don’t understand nor do some seem to care to understand why! Thanks for watching!

    1971, English town NJ. No lights, just a ticket on return. Ran a 60 Rambler Super, 195 Lhead 4 door. 13.50. and I thought I was rocking. Grudge runs on Friday night.

      Yep that seems to be all that I can find is just a win light. But times and speed were recorded and given to drivers. Man I wish I was alive in those days!

    Great video! Thanks for explaining this to all the fans! Who cares about E.T. when its first to the finish line wins! Long live gassers and thank you for all your great content!

      @dh.media_  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you buddy! And yea I don’t care about E.T. I even don’t really care at an NHRA event. I mean it’s there, but really all I care about is who gets the win.

      If et/mph doesn't matter to the spectator why should the record matter. I've been in racing all my life. I even worked on the pro teams . I ve been on both sides and I think it is important people know wat the et/mph is. I bring someone to sega they ask how fast they are or wat the records are ? I think u should have the first race of season giving et/mph over the loud speaker. And the last race do the same. As a test c how fans respond. Spectators don't realize how fast these cars really are. I always pull for the underdog but it's hard to do if u don't no who the underdog is

    I don't have an issue with it either way, but most newbies to a Southeast Gassers event don't get it and are easily disinterested in the on track action because of it regardless of someone such as myself explaining to them as to WHY the times are posted. BUT, if they learn a little bit about the organization they're supporting beforehand, it'll lessen the culture-shock... and that's where Educational Videos such as yours here can and do make a difference in regards to educating the layperson. But, All I know is if the FIERCE Competition doesn't Win them over, Nothing Will.

      I 100% agree with you! And that is my goal with these videos. Explain the whys of what we do all while trying to keep it interesting

    It doesn't matter which lane has the fastest elapsed time or the greatest speed in mph, it's about which one gets to the finish line first. All the information collected at the data points down the length of the 1000 foot mark are only important to a crew chief on a pro car for tuning. It has no value for the fans.

    • @dh.media_
      @dh.media_  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree! It’s neat to see at times but honestly for SEGA, in my opinion, it doesn’t do a ton of good. These cars are fast for sure, but nothing compared to pro mods or the NHRA top fuels so it’s easy to compare the two when you do see a time and immediately discount the gassers for what they really are. I just like to watch the race itself and see who gets that win!
