I had you and Don sign the model car, It was of his blow over car from 86 Englishtown. He got a little chippy cause you signed it first, then he signed it BIG! Ill forever remember that day! you guys were awesome, You showed me your trailers, gave me a Pink Hat, and my Dad bought pink coats. Cemented you in my heart as one of the greatest to ever drive! That and your demeaner and your toughness remind me of my late Grandma Jody! NOBODY got one over on Grandma Jody, pretty much like you! Thanks for all you have done and accomplished. I started hearing about the Force girls and thinking how great it was but by far, you opened the door to them and all others. You were a force to reckon with. I am just sorry I wasn't able to see some of those years. I love drag racing and after I was divorced, I went into the Army. As a young 20 something back in the early 70's living in SW Michigan & Martin Dragway was an hour's drive away, every time a big event came along, I was there, camera in hand shooting as many photos as I could get, I was always a huge fan of Shirley from day one. Back then, the dragstrip would allow me to have full access on the starting line to shoot as many photo's as I wanted. I lived to get action shots of Shirley, Big Daddy, Connie Kalitta, Jungle Jim & all the other top drivers back in the mid 70's & 80's. Drag racing is in my blood for sure! Somewhere all those photos got lost or hidden in boxes packed away. To this day, I'm a die-hard drag racing fan & watch all the events I can catch on TV & the internet. Man, those were the good ole days for sure! Lots of time spent at dragstrips all over Illinois, Michigan, Indiana - I lived to go to the dragstrips all over! Thanks to whoever put this video together! Great job! Hats off to all of those who had a part in the making of this great video! I have always been a huge fan of Shirley from day one! Magic Sam

I met this wonderful lady as an 18 year old street and drag racer at Houston International Dragway while she was racing in the early 80's. I asked her how I could get involved in being a top fuel mechanic and she was as honest as the day was long. She said its a very very difficult opportunity to get into so I was basically told I'm sorry but getting to do this is next to impossible. I still appreciate the honesty and she was a blast to talk to! Thank you Shirley!!!!

This is THE best sports documentary I have ever seen. Shirley is even more awesome than I thought. That she survived that crash and went back to racing is just amazing. And I think that she had a reverse "intimidation" factor. She wasn't afraid of them. Those guys like Kalitta and Garlits were intimidated and unnerved by the one and only Shirley Muldowney.

If I had a Top Fuel car and could pick any one in history to drive it, it would be Shirley Muldowney!

I grew up with Cha Cha and my friends thought I was a loser for cheering for her. I won lots of bets. Love me some Shirley ♥️

She's been my favorite driver since I was a kid in the 70's and my mom's too...just like Gordie Rivera ( from Yuma AZ) my hometown hero!!

I met her about 45 years ago at our home track, Edmonton International Speedway. She would've been up here match racing doing a guest appearance. She was nice, but busy so she couldn't sign an autograph. Glad I got to meet her.

It was something to watch Shirley back in the day. She is definitely one of the Goats on many levels. Saw her bring the sport to another level. She could be in my foxhole any time.

When I was little 6/7 I think it was ‘73 or ‘74 at National Speedway on Long Island, my father asked me to read the side of the dragster in the pits and it said “Cha Cha” I about lost my mind lol I ran up to the car and Shirley was getting out of the tow vehicle and she me let me pet her dog, Skippy. By far a great early memory. Some of the things guys would say to her were disgusting. She covered my ears one time and said “there’s a child right here! you talk to your mother with that mouth?” I have to laugh at it now, but guys were just rude back then. Shirley opened the doors for women drag racers. She took the abuse so they wouldn’t have to. Breaks my heart to see Shirley struggling to walk.

Although I have seen many videos and some documentaries of Shirley this was the very best yet!! Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet her but I ALWAYS had great respect for her and always will...and I am SO glad she knocked out those ignorant men who said terrible things to her and even spat on her!! I doubt I will meet her and I rarely go to an NHRA nitro event though I have wanted to.
