  • This week’s Urban Valor episode features Marine combat veteran, Jon Shower. Jon began his enlistment in a Marine Sniper platoon but voluntarily transferred to an infantry unit so he can deploy sooner. He served two combat tours in Iraq and was inside the first vehicle to ever get hit by a 57mm Chinese Rocket Propelled IED. Upon transitioning out of the Marine Corps, Jon slept in his car parked in front of LA Fitness for three days and eventually landed a job there.

I found this channel somehow just a few days ago and I love hearing these individual stories. I pray all these heros talk to someone even this as it surely helps them without a doubt to talk about the worst days of their lives I know a lot of soldiers don't like to hear Thank you for your service, but I truly mean it THANK You for protecting us. I am a 42 yr old mom of 3 sons.

It reminds me the final episode of Gilligan's Island, were they all got saved. The tycoon invited Skipper and Gilligan over for dinner as well as some of his rich friends. The rich friends begin to rag on the skipper and Gilligan for their rough nature. Finally the tycoon flipped his lid and kicked his rich friends out for talking to the skipper and Gilligan like that.

Hey man. Care for yourself. Then you can care for others. Unfortunately some don’t want to care for themselves.
Should you continue to care for them, and In the process begin to destroy yourself?

Yeah I just got out the hospital about 3 weeks ago and I was unresponsive in the ambulance, but anyways the day after I got out I found my cousin dead from a gunshot wound to his head. He was 28 and I’m 30. He shot himself behind the ear.
