I love his emphasis on the fact that healing comes from vulnerability. He openly states that the strongest thing you can do is to admit "I can't do it alone." Powerful stuff. Nothing but respect
This made me ask a question "What's your Excuse" this guy lost a leg & still works hard. Muck respect & much motivation to live each day to the fullest. Thanks you for your service sir.
The minut issues that I perceive to be problems in my life seem so insignificant now. This man lost a leg and not only went on about his life in top physical condition but also reenlisted and went back to an active war zone. I salute you sir, you're the embodiment of motivation!!
I was about to type that you're full of shit, you can't be in the military, much less an elite unit, with a prosthetic leg. But I looked it up and I was wrong. This guy really impressed me.
I’ve done work on the grounds of Walter Reed, was born and raised in DC,May God continue to bless and keep you,Thank You seems so inadequate for what you and other armed force members have sacrificed for me and my family.THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏾
Very intense story to listen to. I know there are so many more out there like it. I lost a family member who lost both legs in combat and survived but lost the fight back home. Thanks for sharing the message that getting help is okay.
i just wanna point out and appreciate that opening shot with him stretching and reveling his amputation, Great video . Thank you for your service Nick.
This is the 5th video in a row I've listened to from this channel. These are easily the best combat veteran interviews I've ever come across. Pls don't ever stop letting these ppl tell their stories
Nick-you have served your country well. Your bravery is astounding. Thank you for your commitment to helping others. Your injury does not make a warrior. Welcome home.
Nick is an inspiration and a role model. I like how he adapted and employed his intellect, awesome. I came across this video in passive. So glad I did!
The realest thing he said this entire interview was about if he had to go, he would’ve been content going down next to one of his boys. Great interview.
Crazy this video came up in my feed right now. I developed a painful foot injury in the last few days and was contemplating calling in sick to work. Then I remembered Nick’s story and I was like fuck that….
You probably won’t ever see this, but you are a hero dude and your friend would definitely be proud of who you’ve become and the decisions you’ve made. You potentially saved another humans life and overcame one of the worst injuries. Don’t ever question your decision, there’s a reason why we do what we do. Losing your friend at a young age made you realize how precious life was. You seen that boy frozen and instead of being selfish like most people would you thought about that boy as a human just like you with a family and a life too. The military tries to take that away from us. They don’t want you to see your buddies or enemy as human. It’s easier that way. But some humans don’t lose their hearts even as combatants. Those are true heroes.
I have to say your an inspiration for all those that have lost limbs that have served. Not only that, your determination and mindset rather than accepting defeat, you gave yourself a challenge.
@@supakhan23 aww ... Do you live in a terrorists ran country that we "invaded" and killed the military age males in your family ? They shoulda tried to come here [usa] an serve in our military and made something of themselves .
I've had my collar bone broken, right foot crushed with six fractures requiring two operations, left elbow shattered requiring two operations, three cracked ribs, six bones broken in right hand, multiple toes broken and one bad second degree burn (accident prone, no combat, I fall upstairs) but with all that medical issues nothing could match having to stick your finger into your femoral artery while being in a active ambush. No words....
It's crazy alot of your videos haven't gotten more views ...but I think you'll start blowing up ! Just don't stop ! Your display of talent is easy to see
Dude, do not regret that decision! Fk training. Do what you think is best. Either blocking to save him or going after the shooter are the two best moves. I know the army spent a ton of money to train you and they do not want that investment wasted, but we are all in charge of our own lives and have to live with ourselves. Kudos.
Tyler, we're like a 2 person show for the whole operation so still trying to figure out this whole production thing. We're getting better though! Thanks for watching.
@@TheHiveVeteranStories keep up the work! Very impressive regardless. Honestly I was just curious. I didn’t know if it was a skin issue or what ya know?
A pleasure working with you guys. Stay on target. LFG.

Its funny how everyone remembers the day. June 27th 2013 for me.
An old man declared war,and its the young men who have to suffered!
The bionic leg is actually cool as hell
Make one on Nick Lavery. US Green Beret
Holy shit this guys friend got murdered by a serial killer from my hometown
Who?
@ Gary Sampson, Massachusetts serial killer
He neglected to mention that on the helicopter, they gave him the wrong blood type, too.
I love hearing a Boston guy pronounce Kandahar
He’s really strong minded too
It's superficial, but I respect him for being so massive despite being an amputee.
A "pacific moment in time"
❤
damn when he said that then moved his leg.
Was my anka too.
DOL brotha
GUERREIRO!!!!
god dammit. gigga chad is actually really likable
Bravo Zulu sir.
I wonder how many bad-guys counted this man as a confirmed kill? Hes likes Benicio in Sicario 2.
I need the sauce this guy is sippin on!
He is even downplaying the story. He was given the wrong blood type and almost died from it
This guy talks like the dude from bro science, for real.
It is sad that so many men and woman will sacrifice their own body parts and/or lives for illegal wars.Afganistan,Iraq etc.
"Operator" is such an over used cliche'. "Green Beret" says it all.
Honest question. Why is he so yellow?
