I feel like this family has a combined total of 1 braincell, because Lloyd has two, Yor sometimes has one, specifically for the purposes of assassination, and Anya makes any room she's in physically dumber. That said, I think this series works because neither Yor nor Lloyd have any experience being with actual real people, so their professional expectations cloud their domestic lives. Yor doesn't find it odd that Lloyd proposes using a granade pin, because that makes sense to her. Lloyd doesn't question that there's a woman who'd marry a man she _literally just met yesterday,_ because it is very convenient. Neither of them has the experience with normal people to see these things as red flags.
Okay that actually legit makes so much sense, their combined lack of real world social interactions make them ignorant to each other’s true identities Lloyd “I guess most woman know martial arts, these are dangerous times” Yor “People with mental illnesses can be so violent, my husband must be prepared for anything”
Not sure about your take on Loid not having a lot of experience being with actual people. His whole job relies on understanding how people behave in order to blend in. He learned over time most common patterns people behave in and how to deal with different types of personalities. It's Yor that is so socially inept and quirky because she was raised to be human weapon, that she doesn't fit any of these patterns of how people normally behave/think, so she throws him off a lot because of it, which is funny af xD As for him not questioning her motivations: taking into account approximate time period this is set in it's not really that odd imo. Also, beggars can't be choosers, he needed fake waifu asap and she dropped into his lap just like that - too perfect to pass on. It's funny to me that both Anya and Yor bamboozled him into choosing them for their agenda just as he did by (seemingly) offering to him just what he needed, but he got more challenging end of the bargain in the end and will probably end up with an ulcer by the time this mission ends xD
I think Loid doesn´t know how to act as a married man because that role would take a lot of time on a mission, I can see Loid doing the boyfriend, lover, faithfull servant, etc. but husband no because he always had this "wall" to keep himself from going to attach to others, he even complains a lot about relaying in others for a mission. Also Yor had to raise his brother alone so one could say that she had learn how to defend herself in order to ensure the safety of her brother and herself. And also Loid is under a lot of stress so one can justified his lack of reaction towards Yor´s actions.
The fact that they do not sus out is one of the charms of the show. Because they both live in a world were what they do is so normal that they do not pick on it (like jumping from a cliff) while everyone else is baffled. They are both so fucked up in their head by their environment that despite being super professional they also are not normal and their normality is far away from ours. Making them stupid at times and making them accept everything the other one does. Which contributes a lot to their perfect matching

An explanation to the "x" in titles: it is spy family the "x" is a "cool" way to separate the words in Japanese. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the show so far. I'm really liking it and on the verge of loving it.. but there's that part of my mind that's just irked by the inconsistency of it since it sits so much at the core of the whole premise. It wants us to both believe that Loid and Yor are super capable, super talented, experts in their field while also believing they're too dumb to notice the most obvious things in the entire world. Which is true is just based on plot convenience. I know it's a comedy and that I "should" just overlook that but, I'm sorry, even in a comedy your main character can't be both James Bond and Inspector Gadget without it feeling at least a little.. off.
Yeah the only things that I think could justify this is that Yor lived her life as an assassin so shes too naive about other things while, loid whom you may catgeorized into an "intelligence" division is also far removed from normal life, while also having no choice in the matter but to "ignore" things for the sake of the mission. I read the mangaa awhile ago and i think the episode 2/chapter 2 is the worst offender in terms of these off feelings but i maybe wrong, something that also makes me forgive it more is the theme of peace built up by lies and ignorance given to the two warring countries and in their family itself.
I think they don't realize who each other truly is probably, because both of the characters are so use to their work they probably don't see out of the ordinary for a person to be able to fight? idk I didn't read the manga but them no realizing is also apart of the fun for the show so I still really enjoy it.
Do you still like making this type of content? I'm sure your audience would be open to more discussion/analysis-based videos. This video is really a summary of the start of the series with "So far Spy Family is an amazing series" added at the end.
Or simply love is blind.
@@ExtremeMadnessX yeah forgot about that
Also... The soundtrack. So good.
Two European adjacent fictional countries in a Cold War-esque conflict?
Ok, Syldavia and Borduria, got it.
Hah, I get that reference and I like it.
I thought it was Spy times (like multiplication) Family. Like the two things together make something greater then the sum of their parts
Anya is cute, but can we take a minute to talk about how adorkable Yor is?
Can't wait for them to go to Londont
Im looking forward more for Parisnt lol
Thanks to Muse Asia for providing this show free on TH-cam, LEGALLY!!
It gives me HinaMatsuri vibes at times! I adore this show
Please review Space Battleship Yamato 2199! Great sci-fi with awesome animation that i believe needs to be seen by more people!
Can you briefly talk about Tonikaku kawaii? What are your thoughts about the manga??
I think they don't realize who each other truly is probably, because both of the characters are so use to their work they probably don't see out of the ordinary for a person to be able to fight? idk I didn't read the manga but them no realizing is also apart of the fun for the show so I still really enjoy it.
One is a skilled spy the other a pro assassin, I'm sure they both know how to conceal their real intentions.
Yeah in the manga, they still have no clue their true identities, cept for Anya of course
It's cool sharing a name with the protagonist
Found family stories is why I love the film Tokyo Godfathers.
crossing my fingers for a Summer Time Render reaction,
Earmark this Series when we get to the "Best of" time of year later.
Do you still like making this type of content? I'm sure your audience would be open to more discussion/analysis-based videos. This video is really a summary of the start of the series with "So far Spy Family is an amazing series" added at the end. I suppose that technically counts as a first reaction, I just hope its at least the content you enjoy making and not what you feel like you need to make.
Anya Forger looks really, really, really, really cute.
“We don’t get many stories about found families rather than blood families”
Looks over at One Piece
Exactly!!
Looks over at Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
This is what makes anime so great XD
funfact: yor could have just tell her coworkers that her brother works as a police. that way they wouldn't suspect her being a spy etc.
She doesn't know. Yuri's job as an authority is kept secretly from Yor. Only Loid knows about it.
@@cadethumann8605 who said yor knows about yuri real job? i said she knows yuri "fake" police job.
@@someoneinasia I may have to check back as I may have overlooked. Still, it may have been a universal rule that single women, regardless of ties to authorities, are seen as suspicious no matter what (plus, the authorities may see an authority figure in cohoots with a spy relative). It may be odd, but that's my guess for now for this wacky story.
it's actually Spy CROSS Family
as in a CROSS over of concepts
It's an anime about Peanuts.
But not about carrots.
Anya is so precious!!!
i do agree
Even though Spy x Family are the hot topic these days, I can't help shake the feeling that it's like Read or Die in some ways... a spoiler question who knows btw... where the 3 sisters in ROD not blood related as well?
I call them Both Hunter Hunter and Hunter X Hunter along with High School DXD and DD and the same applies to Spy Family
Its like Spy Kids and Mr. And Mrs. Jones put together.. but BETTER
This, Date a Live IV and A Couple of Cuckoos are my instant click anime this season!
I love this series please do not hate it
It's kinda too obvious that, This show is all about ANYA's reactions and cuteness
Man! Kids can be so cute sometimes, they could almost cure all bad emos.
meanwhile there are people making up the description that this series is secretly a horror show as in it is about Anya manipulating Loid and Yor into doing messed up stuff just for her entertainment, lol.
And then those people wnd up writing fanfiction, tainting the wholesome fandom with their edgy conspiracy theories and lowering the quality of the fandom as a whole.
@@SuikaNine There's already one fanfic smut of Loid and Anya wtf. People are fucked up, and me accidentally stumbling into that shit in AO3 soured my day a bit.
@@whyyoumadbro2370 what did you expect? It's Ao3.
It's why I prefer forums like spacebattles and Sufficient velocity. They have rules against posting smut.
A great "found family" anime was Maid Dragon! ♥️
Just gonna wait for Bondman.
Anime Mr & Mrs Smith + pink haired bundle of fun..... Sign me up.
Can you talk about Kaitou Joker?
European-adjacent are my favourite countries.
Hunter×Hunter and Spy×Family are one thing, but what about xxxHolic? Ex Ex Ex Holic? Just Holic? Tripple Holic? Egregiously awesome and something I want more of?
That last one isn't really a question, but I still don't know how it's supposed to be pronounced, or why, after all these years.
Isn't xxx used as symbol for alcohol? Therefore... Alcoholic... 😁
just wondered today. why is that glass reflection is kinda not with the gang anymore like not at all aka gigguk sydsnap etc ? also where the fuck is holden ? :D
I call it Spy cross Family, fight me!
Spy Family it is.
Hm.. I've been calling it "Spy and Family". Probably everyone is wrong 😄
It's Hunter X Hunter and Spy X Family
Why the heck would I remove the "X"
Oh oh it's a spy series, lets be real, we all know where this is going, well to me at least,
it's obvious it's anime logic, however since this is a spy series,
1. clones, ( anya might be a clone and a Projek of the government and They know)
2. top dark secrets ( it's anime logic that it's all happy rainbows until the dark truth is out)
3. brother and sister separated ( anya and the boy with black hair are brother and sister I mean think about it who else has pink hair in the anime no one yet but soon? )
4. mind erase ( if their is stereotype of mind reading then their is a erase mind class as well)
5. family cheating ( the dad will have a past with a old friend or some one close that Thorn princess will not like)
6. old past ( mother and father both trained, but the question is what in the past happened to lead this, maybe they know anya can read minds but they don't say anything and play out,why else would they keep her just for a family or something else)
7. their is more mind reading Class ( anya is Def not the only one who can mind read their is more of her)
8. anya betrays ( she is trained to kill and work for a main tree branch of government and has to choose her life or the ones who raised her , or the government ways)
Think about the possibilities
So basically... no
@@Henry-mp3kf have you read the Manga,
It's obvious, also why did they call anya "test subject 007 "
How original
@@isshishiroorderofgoldenkit3550 That in no way indicates clones. It just means that there were at least 7 test subjects. Also, if you've read the manga, you would know that basically everything you listed isn't true. (You could make an argument for one or two tho)
@@Henry-mp3kf indeed, these where just the possibilities but sadly some are true, it's anime logic
@@isshishiroorderofgoldenkit3550 I'm not saying any of them are true, just that you could stretch them to be kind of true ish.
I still stay in the Spy "Cross" Family camp, to be special ;)
Kingdom Hearts Union Cross agrees xD
Nice!!
Finally a show with no high school teenagers!
Nice video
Do Summertime rendering next
Haruhi would get along with Anya
id like to see you review BELLE.
My main issue with the show is that these super competent professionals are portrayed as super incompetent for a cheap gag. How am i meant to believe this is an amazing super spy or a super deadly assassin? They don't even notice the most obvious tells from their significant other.
The only reason I can think of for this is that both of them are so ingrained into their jobs they don't know what's actually normal for a person. Remember, these two lost their parents at a very young age so they don't know much about being normal.
