I love SpyxFamily!! Such a great series! All the hype is worth it! I’m all caught up and the story doesn’t go down. The anime is also well acted, animated, and the sound design is 10/10. 🙌🏽
This year I want to start reading manga, and the two series that I am want the most to read are Spy x Family and Witch Hat Atelier ( because of your recommendation )
I agree so much with what you said about SpyxFamilly being suitable for all ages! I've been recommending the anime to a lot of people, and watching it with my sister, who usually doesn't watch any and everyone seems to love it. I'm actually caught up on all the currently released chapters because I read on the Manga Plus app and there definitely are some darker touches in volumes 10 and 11 that involve trauma and PTSD. But then it's still balanced out with the humorous moments and it doesn't feel like it's taken lightly. I am also impressed with the research the creator has done on post-WWII-Germany, given that that is what inspired the setting. Some of the plot points and worldbuilding elements are taken straight from real historical events and it's very interesting to see them presented in non-German media.
YAS! I adore Spy X Family! I think parents will relate because so many look at their kids odd behavior or responses and think what Loid does: "I don't understand. What the heck are they thinking?!" So while Anya's odd behavior is her responding to things because of her telepathy, I feel like it resonates with a lot of parents. I think the dodgeball climax works so well and is so hilarious because it was set up perfectly. We see Yor train Anya how to punch and she knocks the crap outta Damian. So with the dodgeball training, we've been set up with the expectation of Anya being great at something Yor taught her. Only to have those expectations be way off in the most hilarious way! 😂😂😂 Absolutely perfect! I watched the anime last year and picked up the manga in November. I read all of the available chapters in one night! (60+ chapters. Don't remember what chapter it was on then.) But for real: all night. I put my phone away around 2am to try and sleep. Tried for an hour and gave up and read the rest. Up until 6am reading! First time in ages I stayed up all night reading. Just.... absolutely adore this series! 😍
I'm so glad to see you read and adore this series! It's absolutely worth the hype and I think it's such a great series. I hope you watch the anime, too!
I love Spy XFamily. We've read all the mangas, watched the anime and I even made a spy family cake for my son for his birthday. And they've announced a movie🎉
I really like SpyxFamily and echo all your thoughts! Are you still reading Yona of the Dawn? I just finished vol 26 and it's continued to get better in my opinion.
My 11 year old daughters have been reading these, and the librarian at their school told them that it was bad for their souls and they shouldn’t read dark things. I really appreciate your thoughts on this series.
I read up to and including Vol. 6 . It got a bit too much for me at some point, so I am currently on a break but I will definitely get back to it. It is quite charming. I should add, that I read very little manga but this one I like.
