- These Rear Guard Bars are designed to work in conjunction with our 26-500BL Engine Guard Bars with 19-500BL Highway Pegs to offer the best overall protection for your 2018 K1600 BAGGER in the event of a drop or tip over. These can also be used in conjunction with other manufacturer’s engine guard bars as well. These bars are constructed of heavy wall (1” X .120” ) steel tubing and TIG welded to 7 ga. cold rolled steel brackets. After shot blasting with stainless steel media, these bars are powder coated for a durable and trouble free finish in Satin Black for a subtle look. Carefully designed to help protect your expensive panniers and mufflers, these minimalist design bars will not interfere with passenger comfort or the clean lines of your K1600 Bagger.
Thanks for the vid, only took me 30 min! (Side note, if you have long enough arms you dont even have to remove the plate bolts. I didnt want to have to remove my rear rack.)

Hello! Its good work and video!! and you had no idea to make a wardrobe trunk a little shorter in width? or make others or plugs? or maybe there are ready-made kits?
I have a pair of "hawkbilled" channel locks that make those two electric plugs a much smaller problem.
Did you install just one side only ? Lol- how come no video standing back at least 5 ft. from different angles to see the results ?
I have several IW products are all great quality... just with these "hugged" the pannier tighter and better flow with the lines of the bike. Effective but not super nice looking.

Looks very nice. One question though, as these bars are clamped over the frame bars would't they turn backwards in case of a crash and cracking the cases?
Yeah, the T-Rex bars have a connection to the rear peg. Doesn’t require removal of the side boxes. Hard to say which is a better product.
8 min video takes 8 hours of work to install - good product but pain in the rear to install.
Not really, just a few bolts and a few connectors. I spent longer waxing the frame and rim. Less than an hour of actual work, 6 bolts and a couple of plugs. I was was dreading the job but it was really simple.

Any clearance issues with aftermarket exhaust? Looks like it tucks in there fairly tightly.
These don't do a very good job at all for limiting the roll at a tip over. Despite the photo on the website
9
