I rolled like 70+ to get slide shot/explosive shot. Just fyi to anyone that sees this. I started getting triple perks in column 3 and 4 after I reset the rank the 4th time. I’d suggest if you can handle it. Grinding to 4th reset then rolling. That’s asking a lot lol I did it while working from home :P
Each reset gives the chance for an extra perk, alternating between column three and four up to three each. So, you’re absolutely right about waiting until the fourth reset to start focusing.
Best practice for farming any playlist weapons I've found is to just play the activity non-stop for a few days and farm as many resets as possible. Getting up to 4+ resets starts to see a lot of triple perk options, makes trying to get those specific rolls a lot easier. Absolute pain to play that much of one activity, but you have a much higher chance of getting what you want. Burning 30+ engrams at 2nd prestige when you're chasing a specific 4/5 or a 5/5 on a playlist weapon is just asking for sadness 😅It took me 110 engrams at 13th prestige to get my 4/5 Royal Entry last year from vanguard. Good luck man, RNG on playlist weapons is something else.
@@achilles3078 It was my total for the season, I rolled my engrams at the end just before lightfall dropped, so no focused decoding on vanguard weapons. Just open and pray, lol. I had a little north of 200 engrams, and got my 4/5 after a bit more than 100 with nothing better after that. I was also looking for a good Prolonged SMG and found a nice one. The resets go by pretty fast farming GM's on double rep weeks. Streak multipliers mean you hit reset every few hours as long as you don't do anything else.
Im sure you probably know but I think the loud lullaby rolls with slideshot and explosive payload also with a smaller perk pool, might be easier to get a god roll, moon missions aren’t fun, but I can’t imagine they would be worse than gambit 😂

as a guy who enjoys gambit, I've been getting Bottom Dollar rolls since introduced (although, I don't focus engrams). The best I can do is hammer forged/accurized/rangefinder/explosive payload with reload MW. Oh, and no run and gun trait because it's an oldie (now they rarely drop at the end of matches and I think randomly decrypting engrams tends to give you newer stuff).
Hahaha this is such an amazing example of how little D2 as a game values your time played. Without any sort of perk reroll system, or perk focusing system I've found myself only using crafted weapons since Witch Queen 🤣😂

You don't realize how long it took for me to get my trinary system god roll. I grinded for it for several seasons, gave up, played some gambit casually, and one day I opened my postmaster and saw a perfect Slideshot + Tap the Trigger godroll of the thing just sitting there all of a sudden. I swear, gambit weapon godrolls will never come to people looking for them, they'll just show up when you least expect it if you play the gamemode every once in a while.
Serious question, what’s everyone’s problem with gambit? You don’t get anything extra by winning, so that takes away any stress factor you could have in the game. If it’s a balance issue, it’s a PVEVP mode so there’s not going to be some e-sport level balance to it. Also, refer to my first point. I think gambit is just a thing that ppl just repeat what they’ve heard about it. It’s the most fun mode of the three, to me. It’s pretty quick, there’s a competitive component which breaks up the monotony of shooting the same ads for 10yrs, and it’s stress free since your loot and rank aren’t dependent on completion like a GM nightfall or a competitive playlist match. I think ppl just complain about gambit because streamer x said it once a long time ago and now it’s just the cool thing to say since no one pushed back on it. In closing, be a bit more original with what you say

Handling MW and I use the targeting mod instead of quick access sling. It only took me 5 Gambit resets! Been using it and mannnnnn do I love it. I see myself using the opening shot over the explosive payload.
I have one with polygonal, rangefinder, opening shot, range masterwork, and tactical mag. Would have like to get accurized rounds, but at the same time it has a little extra stability with tactical mag. I play controller, so the extra stability comes clutch. A personal 5/5 god roll for my purposes. I love it.

Bottom dollar has been my favorite 120 since it came out. I understand why igneous is good but bottom dollar can get a ton of really good rolls that makes the gun even better. Rangefinder, explosive, opening shot etc
To all those thinking about dismantling any rolls with rangefinder just remember that literally only the damage falloff is being nerfed. The accuracy, stability and everything else is still very much a thing for that perk. Please don’t take content creators word as gospel. Play how you like

Reload MW has been cursing all my potential 5/5s, this week I got a Messenger with Arrowhead/Ricochet/Rapid Hit/Headseeker and… Reload MW. It’s not an absolute dealbreaker, the benefits are extremely minimum but it just messes with my peace of mind
Reload masterwork to me is most useful on a PvE shotgun or a 120 HC with really low reload speed, like the Something New. Otherwise, second tier option.
I have a Surplus/Slideshot/ Rangefinder & Explosive Payload/Opening Shot 6 perk option roll. It only took me 3-4 seasons of 8+Gambit resets per season to get it. Good times. Edit: couldnt remember what the 6th perk was. It was Rampage.
It sounds crazy. But, I have a Surplus/Opening Shot roll that I have used off and on for a bit now and it has become my favorite 120 I have. It just has a good "feel" to it even with an ability or 2 down. Can switch to Rangefinder or even Explosive Payload for longer ranged maps as well. It is my muse.

well at least when you do the next 50 games you'll be sitting at two more resets giving you the chance at 3x3 perks. but honestly, given the massive perkpools on the ritual playlist weapons, it should be a given that you have 3x3 rolls after four resets and not just the possibility at those 3x3 rolls...
I did something very similar. I farmed 4 gambit resets in 2 days and decrypted 62 bottom dollars with max perk options. Last season I also decrypted around 40 bottom dollars. Still lackin my personal top tier roll
My best gambit rolls didn’t even come from the engrams 😂 they came from the random drops that went to my postmaster I thought we’re gonna be trash. Slide/ opening with fluted. Range MW so handling only at 49 and then a range /opening with low handling but high stability

Rangefinder will still do things, it will improve stability and accuracy and all the non-range stuff that zoom does. And that is if they don't rework it.
I got a slide shot opening shot role with 51 handling, only 33 stability but with Slideshot it kinda buffs it and arrow head break helps the recoil a lot

I did the same thing this week. Took me 94 games to get 4 resets, and I only got slideshot/opening shot on my second to last engram.

You do NOT focus until after the fourth reset, that’s when you can start getting up to three perks.

Im an 8 going on 9 times guilded dredgen. You get way more loot then crucible, and the matches tend to be faster.
