- Swapping a 2JZ into these cars is pretty common now! You basically get a Supra on a budget! Except you don’t look like a Supra, and you get all the fancy Lexus stuff. Well, the SC300 isn’t so luxury anymore. Now it’s more like a full on racer with 1000 horsepower going to the rear tires! Seeing odd ball builds like this one that also throw down, is our favorite part about what we do! What do you guys think of this thing?!

It was a rough day, lol. Only thing the car did well was 2 burnouts and I cut a better light every run.

I understand wanting to put out content but this makes the 1320 product look like shit. If this was the first 1320 video I had seen I would forget about the channel quickly.
Edit* bmiller- the car is sick and I’m sure it will run nasty passes but my comment is questioning why they would feature your car on a day you had issues and there isn’t even a discussion with you about what happened aside from the first turbo meltdown.

Thats what I was thinking. Then it bogged or almost shut down on every launch. Man they were scraping the bottom of the barrel on this video.

I'm sorry, it's a cool setup on the car but this feature was absolutely pointless. He didn't have a single good pass and was breaking down off the line on almost every pass shown. Click bait for the fail on this one guys.

My 99 SC400 was my favorite car I've ever owned. Inspired me to buy my current 01' GS300 and 01' ES300. All I have left to own in the late 90s early 00 Lexus's is an IS300 and LS400. Love em all.

Same. Going to manual swap my SC400 someday, and drive that V8 the way it's suppose to be driven.
My first car was a 73' Nova SS 4spd stone crusher 350sb...i learned how to drive with that car and it was the same amazing silver with black sgripes on the trjnk and hood... i miss it every single day...i drove it to high school every day and did my senior project on rebuilding the carburetor that i drove to school with ig on the car that day....this Nova brings back amazing memories...along with my first ticket, 115+ in a 50mph zone ... god i miss it.

So this is the stock 2jzge motor. I hope there’s a list of the mods done to the car & with their corresponding prices. So we get to see how much is budget build really. I’m trying to get an SC as well and keep the stock motor. Any tips on how to build the best bang for your buck build on this car to make it faster upwards to 400+hp or more. Max budget would be around 3-4k

All sc300 cars came with a 2jz. Just as all sc400's came with the 8 cylinder v8.
So unless this car started out as an sc400, no 2jz was swapped into it.
xSSxDevillex this is clearly a 2jz gte though, sc300 came with a 2jz-ge n/a so yes it has been swapped.
sc300 2jz is the 2jz-ge(complete shit), the GOOD 2jz is the 2jz-gte (tt supra block). So yes it was swapped. also the sc400 1uz is complete garbage aswell
Not true, the GE is not garbage. At these power levels, the whole engine would be built, so you can even build a NA 2JZ to these power levels.
It had a 2JZ-GE from the factory. They're garb. Now it's got a 2JZ-GTE, arguably one of the best motors ever produced from the factory.
@@Elving_ people have put 1000 plus hp on the 2jzge block so its not garbage however I have the 1999 Lexus sc300 which has the 2jzge vvti motor from the factory however if you throw some pistons in it and a turbo your smoking most v8s

Soarer can be imported for 15k. Supra for the same year 50k. I think the Soarer looks better.

I wonder if it has a legit 2JZGTE or if it's a GE with a GTE head? Doesn't matter either way, I don't hate, 1000 HP is no easy feat.

Was the sc300 having some mech issues?
ProEfi was having a hard ignition cut. Would launch, lose all power and roll back into the throttle. Didn't have a single good pass that day.
Yea sc300 have a nice rep on the street... this one shouldn't feature till she's sorted out a bit better... still love the car though

They are bumping into the beam which signals the light tree. Watch again and wait for the lights to change once he moves forward just a bit.
It's called staging. It order for the lights to go green, they need to be at a certain point on the starting line. If they aren't forward enough, they jump forward a tiny bit so that they are.
Decent idea, but Im seeing fewer and fewr clean examples to start with. Even then, you need to redo the suspension for safety lol.

Sc300's we're the best under cover street car back in the day. Just like the awd v6 twin turbo MKC eco boost ppl barely know about. Beautiful car tho love it. Curious tho how much more does the Lexus weight over the Supra?
