  • After seven months on the road with a crappy stock stereo it was finally time to do something about it.
We bought an $5, 8 pin auxiliary cord on Amazon. amzn.to/2mQO4T3
Now we are free from radio and our terrible wireless auxiliary transmitter, as well as prehistoric CD's.
This process was faster than making the video and we highly recommend doing this if you are still stuck with the stock unit and don't want to purchase a new deck.

Thank you for the advice to yank on that lower part of the radio. I thought I was overlooking a screw this entire time. Gave it a REALLY hard tug and it came right out.

Thank you for your very clear instructions. I have a 2007 Sprinter and the installation went exactly as you explained. I did not need any tools other than a T52 bit on the end of a screwdriver and a drill to poke a hole in the plastic box to insert the mini cable. I was able to remove the front panel without a tire tool, with my fingers very slowly. It helps that your bit at the end of a screwdriver is magnetic to avoid losing the screws into the dark black hole but it’s not necessary. It took me no more that 45 mins to complete the installation. The hardest part was removing the little black plastic box insert, when at times I thought it was going to snap cause it was pretty stuck, but with a little slow but steady persuasion, sure enough it came out. Your explanation for the AUX input was also very clear. You saved me a lot of time. Merci.

Correction, the bit I used was a T25, and not a T52. My dyslexia slips through occasionally. Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you so much! I've ordered 3 of these and installing in our campervans (all Sprinters). Sadly the Amazon supplier doesn't deliver to NZ but i found what appears to be the same thing on Aliexpress. Thumbs up :)

@@Vankookz You could buy a bluetooth dongle and connect aux there to have wireless aux. Did this in an old 2002 lancer.
