** What's with the necklaces?

**A Whisk(e)y school?
Yup. Here are a few things we believe.
** You don’t have to be a snob to appreciate and love great whiskey.
Whisky and Whiskey (it depends on where it’s from) have been an important part of cultures around the world from time immemorial. Whiskey is a part of the very fabric of Western society, and in most places, is as common and accessible as beer.
Like Jazz and wine, snobs have predictably hijacked whiskey appreciation, spoiling our natural, common connection with it and creating a false dichotomy of “good whiskey” and “bad whiskey.”
It’s time to break through the emotional bias with facts and science. That’s what this school is about.
** The only valid definition of “good” whiskey is “whiskey you like to drink.”
Learning how to share your love of whiskey in a way that connects people to the history and the story has more to do with public speaking and storytelling than it does with facts and tests.
The best way to learn about whiskey and share that love is to drink whiskey and talk about it with friends. Study the history, find the stories, and discover the culture and the methods that have been developed over hundreds of years. That’s what you’ll do when you attend The Whisk(e)y Marketing School.
** You don’t need a marketing degree to learn how to share your love of whiskey with the world.

I had my non-whiskey drinker try some of my Laphroig tonight. They thought I was crazy for enjoying it. Clearly, they need to step up their game.

I couldn't be happier that I have found y'alls channel. I had always been reluctant to try islay whiskeys because of a bad experience with a brand that was horrifying. I can't remember the name of it but it tasted like rubbing alcohol and charcoal briquettes. However when I found this channel through you tube recommending it. It started me with the Bunnahabhain 12 which got me thinking. Up to that point aside from the one islay I had. I hadn't given them a fair shake so after watching your review I liked the notes you described. At that point I got up and went to the spec's in Angleton ,Texas down the road from where I live I bought the only bottle they had. I want to say your review has made I convert out of me I can't stop drinking this whiskey it is so damn good. I would like to thank both of you guys Rex for providing the salty sassy notes and Daniel for providing the deep knowledge and and childish maturity. Together ya'll are absolutely perfect.

The Smieszny "Vodka" Is technically not a vodka. In Poland we call those kind of alcohols - Spirytus, they're usually 97-99% alcohol :)
You're not supposed to drink it neat, it's more often used when you're creating your own liqueur (mostly fruity liqueurs, like strawberry, edelberry, blueberry etc.) and during that you're proofing it down to some more manageable alcohol contents.
Fun fact - the name Śmieszny means - Funny in polish :D As for the pronounciation... the first letter is pronounced like SI in SIeve or SIn and the SZ is pronounced like the SH in Sherry. So you read it like this: SImyeshnee

When a squirrel threatens you, you have to make eye contact and engage them in combat. Rodents, as rule, will think you weak and docile if you don’t drop the hammer on them. I’ve been doing battle with the squirrels in my hood and now I’m winning......I’ve got this bad boy.......

That Nikka is one of my favorite by far. It’s one of the best for the price and the best Nikka I have enjoyed too.
I just buyed Nikka from the barrel. Indeed a very good whisky, in a surprisingly small bottle.
Daniel mentioned cigars and hot tea, for my palette it just doesn't fit well, now coffee and cigars omg love it 64 Padron and death wish coffee so good

About fifteen years ago, my wife and I went to the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls with her brother and his wife. While driving around, her brother stops to ask directions, and the Canadian resident was very nice and gave great directions. My brother-in-law said thank you, and then followed up with "I have to say, this Can-a-dan-a-da is a beautiful country, " and drove off.
What's up guys. I've been refining my tasting preferences over the last few months and have started to get my favorite tasting notes down. One of the things I have been doing recently is blending whiskeys that on there own have very specific flavor profiles but when combined make something interesting and different. One recent example is doing Tullamore DEW classic with Laphroaig 10 which is a very interesting tasting experience with the bread and honey notes and the smoky notes making a really great whiskey experience. My question to you guys is are there any unique blends that you have tried or would like to try given the flavor profiles of different types of whiskeys from all over the world. Love the channel and as always, keep it Rexy.

Hey guys, have you ever tasted a raw-cask whisky in one of your videos before. I recently bought Blackadder Smoking Islay, which is a completely unfiltered and uncoloured Islay single cask whisky, and it's magnificent. If you haven't already reviewed such a whisky, it might be a good idea to do a video about filtration(Daniel would probably love to talk an entire episode about this specific step of whisky creation).

Just picked up a bottle of Laphroaig select cause it was on sale for only $40. (I live in key west so that's a great price).Ardbeg 10 is like $70 to give you an idea of liquor prices down here. Not bad at all very light .if you like highlands this is one you might want to try to see if you like islay scotch.
Looked up that polish spirit and I found a description of it that is perhaps my new favorite for anything ever: "Credited with sustaining the lives of countless soldiers during battle after battle when weather conditions presented nearly impossible odds of survival, not only did Smieszny help soldiers suppress the effects of the numbing cold on their bodies it also reinforced the intestinal fortitude necessary for them to survive in battle."

i opened my bottle of Nikka SFTB watching this video, and oh yes is soooooo good especially for the price/quality. I bought this at the local supermarket for 28 € (31 $) but here is available only the 500 ml.
Everclear was a dare drink when I was a teenager! lol.

That sour taste you get from candy is from Malic acid. You can buy it in powder form. It is great for shenanigans! (warning: a little goes a long way) You could also use it in this case for your tasting notes lol

So I wanted to try a bourbon because I liked a sour mash Tennessee whiskey and I accidentally bought brandy. I hate how sweet it is and turned me from whiskey until your channel helped me realize that brandy is not whiskey. Now I've really enjoyed Jim Beam Black, but it is still a little too sweet for me. Is there any budget whiskeys you would suggest or steer me away from?

I have the opportunity to select a bottle of scotch for my birthday with a price range of up to $200. I am a fan of the more smoky/peaty whiskeys like laphroaig or lagavulin (I already have laphroaig 10 and lagavulin 16). I would appreciate your opinion on some to choose from .

Daniel please help! Recently saw your Bunnahabhain video and wanted to pick up a bottle of the 12 myself. But I found that there are two different Bunnahabhain 12 that are considered"new releases". One comes in a gold and black cuboid box while the other comes in a red cylindrical one. Both are non chill filtered and 46.3%. SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?? I can't for the life of me find that out...
Get the gold and black. It's the older version and it's superior in my opinion

Because alcohol is extremely hygroscopic the Smieszny 199 won't be able to maintain the 199 proof long after opening the bottle. It will suck moisture out of the air and dilute itself.

When I was "young and dumb", Everclear parties were a big thing for underage drinking. Never, under any circumstances, mix grain alcohol with Squirt....it's like what I imagine drinking battery acid to be like.
