Welcome Daniel to the undiscovered land of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I strongly advise you to visit "Abha" a city in the south west of Saudi Arabia known for its unique greenery and moderate atmosphere around the year, also it's include the highest point above the sea level in all Kingdom which is "Al soudah" mountain.
I strongly recommend to read about Islam since you visited Saudi this hospitality which you noticed in Saudi is due to the religion Islam which teaches us to be kind and hospitable to the tourists who is visiting and you can easily express yourself that you are atheist no problem here as you will find many more people to explain what Islam is if you declare that you have no religion and mist of the time it’s due to frustration people suffer by their parents religion
All Gulf countries are safe and you can not lock the door of your house and walk in the street with a money bag and nothing happened to you and the most safe country there is Bahrain, the crime rate is zero and the currency is the second highest currency in the world after Kuwait
Saudi basbosa tastes better than the Egyptian one tbh even though it’s probably an Egyptian dessert, same goes for um Ali, we do it better. I hope our Egyptian brothers don’t take offense 🙏
