When Silco was telling Jinx not to listen to Vi, he wasn’t manipulating Jinx. Vi mentioning all those names was triggering the fuck out of Jinx’s trauma. Silco saw the pain it was causing Jinx and he knows her well and was trying to protect her. Silco loved Jinx as his daughter, that’s unquestionable.
Also it's weird people think he's some big liar or something? He rarely lies, especially to Jinx. He says what he's feeling genuinely. Also to most other people too. He rarely sugar coats things. So why would he lie right as he's dying? =/ very weird stuff
@@CrazeeAdam Yeah. It's all just misguided truths. A lot of the characters simply lack the perspective of the other side, which ultimately creates all those conflicts.
i think there is no big reason to not believe Silco at this point. After all, he is usually a man of greater convictions, and his behavior when Jayce brought up Jinx and how he was talking to Vander's statue showcases what Jinx ultimately became to him. He latched onto her as much as she latched onto him. Sure, how he goes about raising her is a bit vile and manipulative, but he himself also has a great deal of trauma as well. He loves her deeply, but how he goes about it is quite a bit different from the standard I would say.
Why is it.. On Silco's DEATHBED, the last words out of his mouth, meaning he has no reason to lie, as it won't even matter, which are kind, the response is many times: "Well I don't trust him" The dude raised Jinx arguably longer than Vander did. =/ we didn't see those years, but it's for years he raised her. And no matter what Silco always stood up for her clearly. Why? Because he did in fact love her. He may not have known how to show it, because he's also a crime boss with a jaded past, but I think by not allowing yourself to trust a dying persons words, you shallow his character a lot. Which his character is not shallow at all really.
"A hero would sacrifice you to save the world but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you " Silco genuinely cared for jynx and it seems like you missed how heavy that moment was...
I'm very grateful for you watching this now, so that I could use it as a recap for season one :D I waited specifically for this video to watch season two, so now finally I can jump in :D Thanks for the reaction :)
Characters from the game --Caitlyn --Jinx (Still working on a gun that shoots other guns) --Vi --Singed (blink and you miss him) --Viktor --Jayce --Heimerdinger --Ekko (and I guess the rat from the first three episodes could be Twitch) and the rest of them are just minions/nobodies.
People like to put other people in boxes and think in black and white. Silco is setup to be the villain (and in most ways he is), but some people seem to think that excludes him from any other role in life ...
In his fucked up way, yeah he cared for her. But all he did was keeping her unstable. He saw only one way she could be and shaped her with every word or deed into that. In this aspect he is just vile. But he might have been blind to this.
@@maksim3722 I think he is a bit blind for it. In his own way it was to fulfill his own status quo of trying to have some normalcy in his life. I think he is a different fate that Jinx would have if Jinx had an ultimate goal and not having anyone. He felt abandoned by his support and he himself is weirdly very much attached to Jinx just as she is to him. The only major difference is her age. Like when Silco was betrayed, he was a fully grown adult with his own idealisms and pursuits and fully developed mind that could weather such hardships a little better than Jinx, but obviously trauma affects everyone in their own way. Silco is still going to bear trauma and latched on to Jinx as she latched onto him.

27:00 that's the single most clueless response to this scene of any reactor I've watched. You've missed one of the major themes of the show and the entire point of the Silco character and his relationship with Jinx. Also, just from the scene itself, what in the world would be the point of him lying as his life slips away? You're still too used to formulaic shows, one-note characters and tropes to really appreciate this show. No one is 100% moral in this show, and it has no evil, mustache-twirling villains. Silco loved Jinx like a daughter. He identified with her from the start because he felt betrayed by Vander who he considered his brother, and Jinx felt betrayed by her sister, Vi. Silco suddenly started understanding why Vander softened after becoming an adopted father. Silco's love was legit in spite of his flaws, and he would never have given Jinx up for anything, not even for what used to be his dream.
I rewatched season 1 recently and I had completely forgotten how they left us off. Definitely a crazy note to leave on. Jinx is so cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
It's been so long since Season 1 that I forgot so many of the plotlines and details. So, thanks Addie, because I've been using these reactions as a refresher before I start Season 2.
Always make me angry how the council is against independence for the Undercity simply because it would mean Piltover would become less powerful. Instead of reaping all of the benefits from the Undercity, they would be seen as an independent nation so of course, everything gotten from the UC would then have to be traded for in some way and wouldn't be in the control of Piltover. It's pure greed.
If you want to react to another intense animated series I highly, highly recommend Invincible. Currently two seasons out with S3 releasing in early February.
Addie, would you ever want to film song reactions? From numerous genres of music like metal, K-pop, classical, rock and roll, J-pop, country, jazz, and rap?
I have had a great time binge watching your binge watching of the first season of Arcane. I am worried about your plant in the background. It seems to be covered in Shimmer.
I was actually fine with the series ending here. I do love season 2, but it would have been *COLD* to end everything here--and that would have been kinda brilliant.
The game has nothing to do with the story. Arcane is using the game's characters and their little backstories to create this show. The game itself has 0 story and is just a multiplayer pvp arena game with one of the most well known to be toxic communities out there. 2:32 Once again Ella Purnell stapling herself up. :) 8:00 You saw them in the beginning in episode 4 at the fair. Powder stole them and then modified them. 9:24 It's when he sees Powder, after earlier saying that she's gone. 10:34 Notice the bloodied jewelry vs. her painting. 24:44 Look at Powder's face when Vi has the same thought the viewers had... For her those monsters became actually real, that's why she was afraid of them. She's always been troubled. 26:56 Then you have not paid attention... The moment Powder said that Vi left her in episode 3, when Silco looked at Vander's body, he could relate to her, since they both felt betrayed by their family. And Silco at the statue of Vander talking to him should've told you that he now understood why Vander stopped fighting - because of his kids, which Silco now understood as well. That's why he said that there's nothing as undoing as a daughter. All his dreams of an independent Zaun, which he killed Vander for, suddenly out of the window, because he would have to give up on Jinx. 27:10 "What makes you different, makes you strong." - Vi to Powder
9:05 "I don't think he can kill Jinx!" No, Ekko can't kill Powder. Jinx he can fight. Addie, besides AOT, Arcane is the only animated show to be any good. Invincible is not awful, but cannot even make it to the field where AOT and Arcane are fighting. The rest are pretty much trash.
I don't have any sympathy for Jinx. She made herself into a monster with every single decision she made. She calls Ekko the "Boy Savior" because he tried to help her and she knew he was helping the people, and she chose Silco and chose to keep hurting people. She made that choice because she's angry and wants to hurt people, not because she's mentally unstable. She's a monster entirely of her own making.
"Don't cry, you're perfect": These words from Silco always make me cry
We had to wait YEARS for Season 2.
