- Kudo is a Budo(武道)。 Budo is commonly translated as “martial arts”, but I believe this term fails to capture its full essence. In Japanese, “Bu(武)” means “battle” and “Do(道)” means “the way of life”.
The way has the meaning that you have to keep walking. You must not let your age defeat you. No matter how old you are, you have to fight or you have to be able to fight. If you do the right training with the right method, that's possible. That's Budo.
Thank you for this, it's great to see, I am very impressed by your fitness at 61 sensei. Nice sparring, great respect and control shown by both sides.
Thank you for your comment. Osu‼︎
Really nice! I like you tactic of closing the distance to take away your opponent's kicks and strike at close range!
Thank you. The reason I can do that is because I am fighting while walking. By walking, I can control the distance without letting my opponent read my rhythm.
Fighting while walking. As I have said many times on my channel, this is the true meaning of "fighting by using kata movements".
凄いですね!動き、スタミナ、速さ、攻撃のタイミング、間合いの取り方、61歳じゃないです!!。少なくとも20歳は若いです!!。
ありがとうございます。恐縮です。😊
The old man would have been knocked out several times by the straight right hand if it wasn't pulled. His hands are too low.
Why no headgear?
This is to avoid unnecessary accumulation of brain damage.
In Japan, no head protector is the norm for daily sparring.
